Background Story

Standing in the mouth of the cave William turned on his flashlight and pointed it into the depths. No time like the present. William had been working very hard on learning everything he could about cave exploration. All the work and effort led to this moment. With a deep breathe he would make his way through the front passage. This cave would change his life forever.

As a young boy William was not like the rest of the children in town. He enjoyed stories, not just the action-packed fantasy stories like the other boys and girls. The factual historical stories, these were the stories he enjoyed most. These stories were true, they happened. These stories were not just made up tales. As he grew older, he found he preferred to read books instead of joining the other kids. He spent as much time as he could with adults, listening to their tales.

Any chance William had to read a book he did. He would read books repeatedly till he almost had them memorized. He spent so much time reading and with the elders of the town that he eventually lost his boyish nature. At some point he took on a more serious nature and adopted the philosophy that knowledge and the pursuit of such was everything.

It was that first cave that made the biggest impact on William though. Deep in the depth he found the single most important item in his life. Inside the cave was the entrance to a pre-rift bunker. It had been untouched and pristine, hidden in the depth of the earth. It was in that bunker he found an old-world TV and DVD player. Inside the DVD was a movie about an archaeologist and his adventure seeking out a rare magical item. From that moment William knew what his destiny was.
