The Palace Hotel & Casino may be the most renowned hotel in MercTown, but it is far from the only one. When compared to the Palace the Ambassador Suites might be considered second rate, but it is a four star hotel that offers luxury accommodations to affluent visitors. Though it is not so large, extravagant or flashy, this hotel is quiet and pleasant, offering 96 standard hotel rooms at 100 credits a night, 36 spacious spacious suites at 230 credits a night and 12 luxury suites (1,200 sq. ft./111.5 sq. m with a full-size bathroom, a living room, dining area and kitchenette, sitting room, a large bedroom with a king-sized bed and entertainment center for music, television and movies) for 600 credits a night.

The Ambassador is strictly a hotel, but there is also a gift shop, barbershop and a restaurant called the Embassy Gourmet. The lavish and tasty all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is a bargain at 15 credits and the other meals are also excellent. Security is good, though not as tight as the Palace and the hotel is popular among mercs and mages looking for something nice, quiet and fancy, but not too lavish or pricey.

The Ambassador Suites is owned and run by Jefferson Rockford (6th level Merchant/Vagabond), a self-made millionaire from Fort El Dorado. He left prior to the Coalition takeover out of fear of what the CS would do to his D-Bee wife (an attractive humanoid). The Ambassador offers a calm, relaxed atmosphere compared to the constant bustle and intrigue of the Palace. That's not to say that it is free of shady deals and trouble, but it is more dignified and peaceful.

Kat trudges through MercTown into the Ambassador Suites, wondering why she had to fill out the first-time visitor form. The guy must be a rookie. Scan my ID, take my guns. Silly forms. Still somewhat paranoid, Kat keeps an eye out for anyone following her. Approaching the front counter, Kat speaks up. "Yes, I'd like a room for three days. Maybe longer, but three days for now." Kat selects one of the basic, 100 credit a day rooms, and pays with her NGMI card that has a massive balance (OOC: The 1.39 million credit one). In order to get to it though, Kat needs some privacy to get to her boot stash, so the City Rat hits the public bathroom in the lobby.

After she gets her room key, Kat takes a long, HOT, steamy bath. Then, using the same tub and the hotel's linens, Kat scrubs down her exoskeleton and her stealth suit. Looking over her dust-caked, bullet-hole ridden clothes she was wearing, Kat shakes her head. Not feeling that punk rock today. Nope. Not after my first bath in a real tub in...... fuck has it been six months? So Kat digs out one of the P.A.S. long-sleeves and another pair of pants, and her ratty, one-sleeved, bullet-hole riddled longcoat, examines it, and nods to herself. Yeah, thats the right dose.

One of the NE-6SLs gets tucked under the mattress, as does the massive NGMI card. Kat checks the action on the other NE-6SL, holsters it, and tucks the 30k universal card into her belt pouch. The rest of the cards go back into the nightsuit's boot.

First, Kat loses the towel she's had wrapped around her since the bath. Then the armor goes on, followed by the shirt and pants, the utility belt, and finally the long coat. Checking herself in the mirror, Kat notices how bare her hair is. The City Rat shrugs to herself. It doesn't look too bad, just the tips still colored. Least I think it's fine, and screw anyone who says otherwise. After some brief thought on the subject of walking into Firewaters, Kat decides to do her drinking in front of the Warren's largest job board.

Kat hooks her mirrorshades in the collar of her shirt, exits her room, locks the door, leaves the hotel and takes another hike through her hometown to the Warrens.

Kat runs up to her hotel room from her cab and sheds her clothes and armor. Putting on her Special Body Armor, Kat slaps the other NE-6-SL into her holster.

All the other girls are dressing down, but Kat's prepping to actually have to cover James and Analoy if they get in trouble. Kat's been in a scrap with the Horsemen before, so she knows they hit like a ton of bricks and take a bunch of firepower to bring down. Luckily Kat hits like a ton of bricks and takes a bunch of firepower to bring down when she has time to suit up.

Kat changes out the contents of her ammo pouch and utility belt, then grabs her NGMI card from under the mattress. Then the City Rat runs down the stairs and hops back in the cab. "One-Eyed Jacks, please."
