The 'new arrival' sign catches Erg's eye.

Rapidly talking to himself:
"That's really cool. Converts chemical energy to kinetic to propel the projectile. That's common enough like any bullet. Than , instead of just hitting the object , it does another energy conversion to create an explosion. But unlike a simple explosive round or mini-missile, this explosion is designed to convert that explosion energy to counter the moving kinetic energy / momentum of the target... That's ingenious... Expensive , but ingenious."

Erg goes inside the store , walks directly up to the first clerk he sees.

"Excuse me , that new arrival I saw in the window. I'll take one of those pistols , and 2 of the special amo rounds." Erg extends his credit card to the clerk.

The clerk eyes Erg as he walks in the store then stands as he approaches him. "Ah, our vehicle stopper? We've barely had that in stock for more than a few days, yet is has coveted quite a bit of interest." The clerk nods and takes the chit "Alright, the firearm itself is 1,200cr and each round is 5,000. Your order is 11,200cr. Is there anything else I can do for you today?"

"No, that will be all , thanks."

I should be able to build my own ammunition for less than the $5k. When I get time , I'll have to see how much less... Just what I need .. another project.

Collecting his things , Erg than walks back to The Haunt.

He walks in looking for a salesman, "Excuse me. I want to buy 50 of the Vehicle Stopper Rounds."
Previously
Based on previous post above before last mission they were $5,000 per round x50 = Expecting ~$250,000.

James walks into the store and lets out a sign of comfort at all of the gear he sees around the store. He browses for a long time as his thoughts lead back to a time long ago, prepping for old missions with his old team. Their faces all float into his mind and a rare unbidden smile shows on his face, I can still see that old bastard Gamble open the Tech Cage for us to stock up pre-mission. He always had that old pre-rifts song playing, I never knew the name of it.[i] As with most things in his life the song lyrics are imprinted in his brain as if the old spy could still hear it being played, [i]Anything you want, I got it. Anything you need, I got it. Ha ha, Gamble would play that song anytime anyone was loading up. Shit, I guess Gamble would be dead now, that was a long time ago. The smile quickly vanished and James' mood flips to anger thinking about the good people he worked with and how the fucking Coalition sent him after a lot of them. Some day I am going to make every one of those Dead Head fuckers pay. Reality floods back into his mind as James realizes he was clenching his fist. Get control you dumb fuck! Your reactions are yours to control, they don't just show up on their own. He quickly put his polite mask back on and turns to find an employee.

When James finds some help he slides a piece of paper across the counter and says, "Hi there. I am in the market for a state of the art surveillance system system for the GIRLS headquarters."

System Specifics
I want 4 pan, tilt, zoom cameras and 20 concealed cameras with full color video and audio recording (records full video footage, not stills every 3-5 seconds) with a 5 petabyte drive that deletes the oldest footage every 90 days. The cameras will need to cover the areas outside surrounding the building in overlapping arcs as well as all public use areas inside the building. The DVR unit needs to be installed in a wall mount server rack (in a room close to James' room) and 10 x 27" monitors to view all the angles (James's room). Of course I need the option to expand the system if needed.

I also need 8 mobile A/V rigs; wireless camera's attached to the vehicles that record and store their footage and on returning to the base automatically download to the security server. With the ability for any robot or other vehicle with advanced optics and either a combat or targeting computer could have those systems tied into the on-board camera.. Meaning the system would make simultaneous recordings from every camera built into the vehicle or bot, etc.We need to wait to install these until my teammates confirm they want them.

Lastly, I need a kick ass computer. I am doing some heavy processing and need extra power to get it done. I'd like four 27' monitors in the same room as the security system monitors but on its own server. I need the computer mobile but able to doc with the home A/V setup.

The sales rep (an older man of obvious Asian descent) looks over James' piece of paper with raised eyebrows. "Oh myyyyyyy..." He grabs a tablet and starts tapping. And tapping. And tapping.

After what seems like a week watching the old man tapping on his tablet, he nods to himself and looks up at James.

"We can set you up with a standard 64-camera system that features full audio and color video recording. They're dome mount, have auto focus and can be manually zoomed in via the proprietary software that comes with the system. This system comes with a 5-petabyte drive that can delete the oldest footage every 30, 60, or 90 days -- your choice. We can set the DVR unit up in a wall mount server jack along with the monitors in whichever room you specify. This system will cost 75,000 and includes installation; this type of system typically takes 2 weeks to install and I can have Brad start the process first thing in the morning."

"As for pan, tilt, and zoom cameras... this system can handle 8 PTZ units and 4 control sticks, but that will add to the overall cost of course. Each PTZ camera will cost an additional 500 credits, while each control stick will cost 1,500 credits. If you were to add as much as the system can handle, the added total would be an even 10,000 credits for the cameras and controllers. If you wanted these in addition to the existing 64 cameras you would also need to purchase additional DVRs as that's the most the unit can handle at any one time."

"We can make the standard cameras concealable for an extra 250 credits per unit. If you wanted to make all 64 of them concealable, we could certainly do that and the additional cost would be 16,000 credits."

"As for the mobile rigs..." he scratches his head. "I'm not sure how we could accommodate that. I'll have to chat with Brad. He knows wireless communications better than I do."

James, looking a little dejected answers with, "Sounds good, let me know when we can work that out."

James tilts his head up to do some quick math before answering, "How about we go with the eight P.T.Z. controllable cameras with an extra DVR and 64 concealed dome cameras on their own DVR? If I go up to a hundred and ten K for all of that, and because I'll pay the whole thing right now, you throw in a top of the line computer in the same room with its own bank of four monitors?"

James looks at the guy and adds,"Deal?"

If they agree with James' proposal he will ask, "This can be a bit of a touchy subject and it is not intended to offend but I am going to need some guarantee on privacy and trustworthiness of your installation crew. I don't want anyone getting a blueprint of where every camera is and I don't want to have to worry about your crew being inside our HQ."

After listening to the man's reply, James picks up a message from Jez,
Jezebel wrote: "Jez here, on my hornet. Where should I go? Be forewarned, if it's not someplace serves food, I might kill and eat you when we meet."

He uses his internal radio to respond, "I think I am almost wrapped up here and also dying for some food. I went past a place in the Mystic Quarter that look more than a little interesting. Its called, The Spinx and Unicorn Tavern."

James waits for a response but thinks now might be the time to let Jez in on his security system plan, I'm setting up a security system for the HQ, I'm sure she won't be pissed off about that. Knowing my luck she probably will be.

Activating his radio again he adds, "Hey Jez, I thought it would be a good idea to get the HQ set up with a security system. I have an installation crew ready to go for tomorrow, does that work for you?" After a quick pause James continues, "I have a privacy and professionalism guarantee from the business here at Spy Gear Electronics."

James Miller

The man helping James disappears for awhile into a side office, closing the door behind him. James find himself waiting a bit longer then 15 minutes before the gentleman returns. He is smiling though, which is usually a good sign. "Mr. Miller, I have spoken with Brad and he says he can come up with wireless vehicle mount modules as you described, but that they would be a complete custom job; for both the hardware and software. He says that he will need at least 25,000 down to start this project and another 25,000 upon completion. That price is just for the wireless units and software and does not include the cost of the base security system we already discussed. Oh and as for the computer system, yes for that price we can of course add in a top of the line computer system. Here is a specification sheet. The devices themselves are fairly straight forward, but the software will take some time. He says he will need 1 to 2 weeks to come up with the program, plus another 2-3 days per device you want. Speaking of, how many of these units did you need fabricated?". In the midst of his speech, the man hands over a typical print out for a computer system spec list;

CPU: Triax THC-447 Hexadecagon (44.72Ghz)
MB: Triax Künstliche Intelligenz 1977
SSD 1: On-board NG-8SSD 8Pbt Solid State Drive (1,028 Gb read/write)
SSD 2: Fiberop linked NG-16SSD 16 Pbt Solid State Drive (512 Gb read/write)
GPU: AMD 64 Gb x128 card
OS: Wine-dos 800813

He adds, "As for your request of discretion. Brad says that he can do the entire install himself, so that only you and he are privy to the exact system layout. However, it will take twice as long.".

James nods at the man and extends a hand, "That sounds perfect and I'll take Brad up on the offer for him to do the work. I will need eight mounted systems and I'd like to have two spares." I like this guy, I have a feeling I can do a lot of business in a place like this.

James hands over his stick and says, "I will get you the access to the hanger you need and speak with the team about having the AV rigs installed. I'll be in contact real soon."
