Player Info:
Technically not an arms dealer, this store specializes in the sale of ammunition and explosives. The owner, Maxwell Dobson, a self-proclaimed "ammo technician," is capable of manufacturing or improving just about any type of ammunition. Max produces and sells everything from specialty conventional rounds (hollow point, glaser, etc.) up to and including improvised land mines. Among his standard fare are depleted uranium, ramjet and explosive rounds, dynamite, NG plastique explosive, fusion blocks, cutting charges, detcord, blasting caps, time pencils, assorted fuses, hand grenades, claymores, other basic mines, and missiles (of all types and sizes). He buys all of these in bulk and thus can pass on modest savings.

The majority of the goods sold at Max's are factory produced in places like the Coalition States, Ishpeming, and the Manistique Imperium. However, he offers a number of specialty items that he makes himself and which are hard to find elsewhere. By far the best-selling example are his unique 'BotStopper mini-missiles. For the right price, Max will also build improvised explosive devices for clients.

Murdoc walks in carrying his earlier purchases. Its pretty obvious he's either just in town or getting ready to ship out and is flush with cash as he stocks up on supplies. He looks over the store for a moment and when a clerk approaches him, he nods and says, "Hello, I'm looking for pricing on fusion blocks, cutting charges, best make those water proof, uh, hand grenades; smoke, HE and plasma, claymores and I was wondering if you carried Deadball grenades? (Juicer pg 74) Oh, and some plastique with timed and radio detonators."

As the clerk gets a price list together, Murdoc furrows his brows trying to think if there is anything else he may want to check on here.

Entering the building, Whisper looks out of place. Reluctantly approaching the nearest clerk, she says meekly, "Hi, I need some stuff."

If the clerk tries to act dismissive, or tests her knowledge, she quickly starts rattling off what exactly she needs. "I'm looking to place a mixed order for mini-missiles, I need prices for smoke, frag, plasma and AP. What type of tracking systems do you have? Are they all-aspect? Solid or liquid fuel? Vectored thrust or flight surfaces? Do you have the Coalition types available?"

She tries to use her questions not just to silence any doubt but also to get a feel for how much the actual sales personnel know their product.

The clerk at the closest desk sees Whisper approaching and raises and eyebrow, but knows better than to discredit a book by its cover.

"Well, you are the knowledgeable little one." He says slowly and levels himself a bit more before answering.
"First things first, we are a munitions shop, not an extras. You want guidance, you had better have it pre-installed in your given platform or be equip enough to use medium range smart missiles; the only guidance we offer on our mini-missiles would be Command Control, Laser or Radar Homing, all used from your platform, or Guide by Wire which is not recommended in today's day and age." He begins, with a colleague taking interest and listening in.

"Next, for any of our Smoke or Gas Mini-missiles, the standard is usually 500cr per unit. Frag and HE run around 800cr with AP and Plasma running 2,000. All prices are negotiable especially when done in bulk. Fuel is standard liquid form and comes included with missile prices, unless you wish for further range, then the extra fuel adds a bit to the cost." He pauses for a moment, letting Whisper assimilate the prices before adding "We do sell CS missiles as well." The clerk ends, mentally noting to have answered all of her questions, he waits for her next salvo.

"My platform is a Naruni MK-PA12. However the launch system is a German TX-002. I haven't had any compatibility problems with it; Naruni software seems pretty adaptable. Your prices seem reasonable. How much would 8 smoke, 12 high explosive, 20 plasma and 20 armor piercing cost me? What do you consider bulk?"

The Merchant seemingly ignores her quick quip about the beauty pageant and thinks for a moment. "Compatibility isn't going to be an issue with that platform, and bulk would be... well that." He pauses and does the math in his head.

Whisper can hear him muttering "4,000 Smoke... 9,600 HE...40,000 Plasma and AP... 93,600 total... bulk rates..." he pauses then looks back to Whisper "Your grand total for that order would be 79,560cr, payable upon delivery of your order." He states before finishing "Shall I ring you up?"

The seller raises an eyebrow "Not that the thought doesn't entertain me, but I think you're a tad young for me." He states somewhat dismissively before adding "Expect your order in a couple of hours" He finishes before turning to another customer.

The man at the counter reaches out for the pellets and takes them from Wakiza's hand. He looks them over slowly and thoughtfully. "Can't say I have seen these before sir. Not something we would have on the shelf. I would be willing to take a crack at making them though. Won't be cheap. I can tell you that for sure." He looks up at Wakiza to see if he has any reaction to the last statement. He hands the two pellets back to him.

"Here is what I can do for you. I can take them two you got, break 'em down and copy them. I could do that for 1000 credits each. How many of 'em you lookin for?" The man looks at Wakiza intently waiting to see if he will accept the price or not.

"As for that rifle of yours, I would love to tell you I do that sort of thing but I don't. You may want to try the Old Time Gunstore. If memory serves right, I believe they have a weapon smith in there. I just fill 'em, I don't modify 'em." He finishes with a wink.

The shop keeper looks at Wakiza puzzled. If only Wakiza could hear his thought. The shop keeper sets the pellets down on the counter. He looks up at him and says, "Who says I haven't already given you a discount for bringing me the work and giving me the opportunity to supply these?" he turns around and walks to a small sink behind he counter and starts washing his hands.

Without turning to look at Wakiza he continues, "I can do 100 each, won't be a problem. Should have them complete in a month or two. What you planning on doing with that much ammo boy?" As if on cue, as he finishes the word boy he turns and looks directly into Wakiza's eyes. "You didn't expect someone could produce that much in a day or so did ya?"

Wak looks at the merchant, "Well you didn't say it was a discount, I guess we will see." Wak feels the ire rising from himself through the sword, "Well Old Man what is the name of this town. I prefer to have too much ammo than too little." At the mention of time, "I figured it would take a while. Probably takes you more than two days to get to the market let alone make a little ammo." He is a little cocky for a merchant, wonder if he is connected to anyone here in town?

The shopkeeper's face doesn't show any expression while Wakiva talks. He stands cold face listening. "There is something else. I don't intend to finance your build," he says still looking at him expressionless. "If you intend to finalize this arrangement I will need at least half down and the other half when I am ready to deliver."

The man pulls a basket and a sheet of paper out from under the counter. He picks the pellets up off the counter and places them in the basket. On the paper he writes down the terms of the agreement signs his name and turns it for Wakiva to sign.

"What is your intended payment method?" he say looking back up at Wakiva.

Skill outcome: streetwise - Nothing you have heard or remember places the shopkeeper as a connected person. You can not be sure though.

When he is approached, or if he finds a clerk or other person in the store, he will say, "Konnichiwa! Good day to you. He listens to Yojimbo request. ” Ummm.we haven't had the opportunity to see one of these before. My boss may be able to, let me check.” He holds the clip with a questioning look as if to say “May I?”.

This is a first for him.” He hands back the clip and waits as Yojimbo makes his request. ”We have both in stock.” he picjks up a tablet and swipes a few times before exclaiming. ’AHHA!! I knew it. We have silver slugs and buckshot. Each type is 150 credits per shell, a box has 144 shells for 20, 000 credits. *swipes a few more times* Bandoleers holds 56 rds across chest or as belt, we also have wrist bandoleers. These hold 4 shells each. Either model is available for 20 cr. apeice.” He sets the tablet down on a counter, takes a deep breathe. ”Now.. My master has done the math. We can do the ammo as well the clips, but it is gonna be expensive. It will more than likely take a few days as well as a few tries before we get it right. But we wont chrage you for failures. If you pay for, say, 10 rounds, we will provide 10 even if it takes 20 to make right.” He lightly clears his throat. ”Also we will need one clip as well as at least one round so we can make it correctly. “ He awaits a response patiently.

While the young man goes to check, Yojimbo will form his Ectoplasm hand, take out his notebook and pen, and wait. When the young man returns, Yojimbo directs his "hand" to write down all the information. However, when the young man mentions needing a magazine, the giant stops and looks up.

"How long will you need to use the magazine? I only have this one. It is why I need more made."

I need to find a way to pay for all of this. One more trip to a craft supply store, and then to find work! he thinks to himself as he sees the numbers adding up for his shopping lists.

The young man gulps and looks at his feet for a moment. "We will need it for at least a week." He looks back up at Yojimbo. "For the inconvenience, my master has enabled me with the power to offer 8 silver shotgun slugs as well as 12 buckshot rounds for your hammer. so you are not without defence if need be." as he makes his offer, he reaches down and places the aforementioned items on the counter.

Not knowing what is wrong, the metallic giant takes a knee. At least now, he is at the young man's eye level and not towering over him.

Perhaps this will help.

"Sumimasen. Excuse me please. I did not mean to imply that I was in any way displeased with you or your master. You are most kind to make this accommodation. I will not forget this kindness..." he says in a less forceful voice, searching the young man's face for understanding rather than fear or hesitation.

"Please, allow me to right the wrong and to offer some semblance of compensation for your kindness. Silver and gold, I have not. But, I offer you this - something worth more than silver or gold, to me." He directs his Ectoplasmic hand to take the offered items and puts them in his bag for safekeeping.

Then, he takes out his simple, hand carved wooden flute and plays a melody - a Japanese flute song that reminds him of a beautiful day with the twins and their father back in his "home" of Japan.

If the young man takes to his flute playing, Yojimbo offers the flute to him. "Please, take this as a token of my appreciation and as an apology for making you feel uncomfortable. As you have probably noticed, I am not from these parts. My home is... far away," he says with a longing sadness in his voice as he looks away. If one could see the expression on his face, one might see the burden Yojimbo carries in his eyes... a being haunted by the events that took all he held dear from him. Sometimes it feels like yesterday.

I failed them. I failed them all... he thinks, trying in vain to push the sadness away as he looks away.

Then, rising to his feet, he says, "Arigatōgozaimashita*. I will return in one week's time. If I do not use the ammunition, I will return it. The flute is yours, if you like it. Treat it as kindly as you treated me, and you will be rewarded. Perhaps you may even learn the art of the flute someday, hmm?" The last part he says with a return to optimism.

He then bows with his traditional "Shitsurei shimasu!**" and makes his way to the door and out to find an arts and crafts store.

The young man takes a step back as Yojimbo kneels down. Once the tune has been played and the flute offered, the young man finally acts. With glassy eyes, The young man bows his head. ’i am honered by the tune. Thank you for that beautiful memory.” He looks at the flute, then back to Yojimbo. ”really? Wow.. Ummm.. you did nothing wrong, so there is no need to give such an extravagant gift. The tune was gift enough.” He does his best to do the same bow as Yojimbo. ”Thank you for entering this store toaday. Good luck on your travels. If you ever need us, Feel free to come by. You will be remebered.”
