Ernstweavel nearly spit his beer out when the man laughed, half by surprise and the other half by amusement. Finishing the rest of his the beer, Ernstweavel sets the empty glass down on the counter and looks again at the man. "Give me one more kind Sir. I didn't have anything in mind at the moment. Just getting the feel to town for now but I am itching to for some excitement. I'll look into those groups. Thanks for the beer and info."

"Excitement is what you'll find here." the bartender slides another glass over to the magic user. "We just had a demon horde come to our gates. The CS of all people fought with the mercenaries here to kick them back where they came from." He thinks for a moment, "That PAS, MARS, whatever they call it group. They just came back from another dimension fighting them back to where they came from. I'd try there first, if your looking for Excitement."

With the talk about dimensional travel, Ernstweavel's heart rate rose, palms began to sweat and ears picked up, even before he finished the sentence. Pacing back and forth was the only the he could do to keep from letting out a yelp of excitement. Trying to swallow and crack in his voice, "Oouuu, that sounds right up my alley. I'll most likely give them a try. You see, I just love everything rifts, dimensional travel and everything related. Thanks again for the tip. Do you know where thery normally hang out at?"

The bartender scratches his chin, "I know one of them likes to hang out at the Ambassador Suites. But you might find them at their base in the Outskirts, just outside of MercTown. They took over a meat packing warehouse that was infested with Demons from what I understand. I don't know why they would do such a thing, but then again... I run a bar."

Fiona, Cordelia and Analoy enter the Cafe right on the front edge of the lunch rush. The establishment looks like it could seat roughly 200 people and by anyone's best guess there's at least 150-175 in there. The air is thick with the smell of eggs, bacon, coffee, beer, sweat, gun oil, and a million other scents. In a back corner booth sits a paunchy, middle-aged guy sipping on a cup of coffee while at the same time working away on a portable computer.

A waitress (an older lady with silver hair and a skosh too much eye shadow) looks up from behind the counter as they walk it. "Hiya girls, what can I get ya?"

Cordelia is very excited to see the Jobs market. She got up early and went through her wardrobe for an hour and a half trying to decide on an outfit. she settled for her usual tan cargo pants and boots but opted for a very tight white tank top with a screen printed image of pinky the ghost from pacman, her favorite, due to the fact that it is both in her opinion very cute and shows way more of her chest than her mother would approve of. She also brought her camera, notepad, sketch pad, colored markers ,an Erin Tarn book with reference to this area and "Alan Quartermain and King Solomons mines" all in her back pack. She wanted to be ready to make notes and document the whole affair, nothing would escape her examination. But she needed to keep it calm and cool.
If you spaz out you may miss something. Head high. Chest out. Sashay in like you are cool.
"Hello ma'am" to the waitress. "Do you have buttered coffee? With hazelnut?"
Time for business. She scans the area and begins making note even before he sits down. Takes a few pictures of the place inside and out and sits down at a table to do a few sketches. She spots the man on his laptop. Could this be Cliff Jones? She would love to pick his brain for he must have a million good stories. She makes and extra good drawing of the man at work. She just about to sing out loud but stiffles it. Soo exciting!

Fiona is more than happy to drive to Fixers', it being a guilty pleasure of hers in the past. When the woman asks what she wants. "Coffee, bacon and eggs, and a moment of Fixers' time when he has a moment." Fiona says to the waitress with a smile. Once she has left Fiona looks to the others. "Fixers' in the know about just about everything mercenary related, so he should have something for us." Fiona says while briefly glancing around the room. "When we're done with all of this Cordelia, I'd like to look under the hood of your vehicle, see what it has going on inside."

After spending the morning sorting through and stocking the grocery order, Analoy is pretty sure Kat has never eaten anything at home and Jez pretty much just drinks her meals. Both things that are not going to fly with me. I like cooking too much, so those women are in for a surprise. I just have to make sure my cooking doesn't effect their waistlines. That is one fight I don't think I would win.

Analoy is grinning to herself when she comes out and joins Fiona and Cordelia for the ride over to the Job Market Café.

Sliding into a seat at a table with a good view of the screen scrolling the little jobs, Analoy gives the waitress a smile, "Chai tea latte and a Denver omelet, please." then she nods as Fiona asks for a meeting with Fixer. When the waitress leaves, Analoy says, "Good call on the meeting with Fixer. That job board is scrolling mainly small stuff that I could pull off on my own. I'm not too sure about what we can handle but with what everyone has described so far, a group like ours should be able to handle a good sized job." She looks around a little at the assorted mercs then looks back to the GIRLS at the table, "That is, unless we want to take the small stuff and work in volume?" She shrugs in question to the others.

"I have never really worked a job other than the regular stuff I did to get through school. Soo... I dont want to over step my bounds, but lets do this."
Cordelia is still penciling in the finer details of Fixer's face as he works at his table in the back.
"I would really like to speak with Mr.Jones. I was expecting more from his appearance. From the tales I've heard I thought he would look more intimidating."

She then switches from drawing to the camera. Keep it discreet. Dont alarm any one. There aren't many people in the cafe yet, But she finds them all interesting and tries to catch as much detail of the place as she can for later note.

Analoy smiles across the table to Cordelia and says, "You may want to be careful with the camera. Sure between security cameras and cyber eye cams, surveillance is likely happening all the time, but something so blatant might not go over very well. Then again, you could have people here lining up for a picture and some professional recognition."

Analoy leans back in her chair and gives the camera a wink, "Technically, this is my first paying job. Oh don't get me wrong. I've done field work before, but it was... um, a family business type thing. Money in my pocket of my very own is going to be something new for me to get used to. Maybe I'll be able to save up and buy a magic ring or something that grants me immunity to the cold."

Analoy glances over to Fixer, "Oh, power isn't always measured by appearances. Look at us for instance."

The waitress smiles and nods. "Sure thing, gals. Y'all have a seat and I'll bring it out in a minute." True to her word, within just a few minutes the orders are on the table and the ladies are chowing down (or in Cordelia's case, drinking down). "I'm guessin' you're looking for work if you're wanting to chat with Fixer..." she says as she lays out the plates. "Most of the available jobs are up there on the Job Wall there behind me, but if anyone can hook you up with the right group on the right job, it's him. Just a bit of free advice though, dears -- if he's eating anything when you're done here, wait until he's done before you go talk to him. Food getting cold on him is one of the few things that makes him grumpy."

After they're done, they walk over to the gentleman in the corner booth. He looks up from his computer as they approach. "Yesterday it was a lovely lady juicer, today it's three lovely ladies from three clearly different career paths -- lucky me..." he says with a warm smile. "I thought as much when I saw Daisy lean over like she was whispering, probably to ask you to wait until I'm not eating." He chuckles. "Daisy's such a sweetheart, always trying to make sure I can at least have a few uninterrupted minutes to myself every now and again. Gotta love her." He gestures to the seats across from him. "But I'm forgetting my manners. Please, ladies, have a seat and we'll talk employment options. We've already got part of the introductions down already, as you know who I am -- but who might you be?"

After introductions are given, Fixer looks at the three ladies in turn without saying much. Not in a way that could be considered lecherous or creepy, but rather as one would read a poster on a bulletin board. He starts with Analoy. "Your tattoos look rather Atlantean to me, so I'm guessing you have magical talents, yes?" He moves on to Fiona. "You have the look of someone who enjoys a good wrench in her hand and enjoys the sound of a fine-tuned vehicle." When he gets to Cordelia, however, he raises an eyebrow in consternation. "You, on the other hand... you don't have the look of someone who spends much time around the rough-and-tumble elements that are typically characteristic of a mercenary life. It's very hard to get a read on you." He shakes his head. "But together, you're assertive enough to seek me out but professional enough to be courteous. You're new to the merc business, but have been around long enough to be able to take care of yourselves. So tell me, am I pretty close?"

He leans back in the seat. "Now... what kinds of jobs are you ladies looking for?"

Fi is genuinely surprised at Fixers rather accurate account of their professions. The rumors said he was good, but to see/hear it in action is otherworldly. Fi smiles at Fixer. "Well I'm Fiona Maccalister and we work for a new operation we're calling... GIRLS I think... I wasn't paying a bunch of attention during that part." Fiona digs through her pockets for the patch from the Horseman's jacket. "Kat told me to give you this as a present before we asked about work." Fiona says as she hands him the patch. "I guess we're looking for something to make a name for ourselves. You've got us pretty well pegged for professions, add to that Kat and Jezebel Faux running the show and we make up the team." Fiona says to the respected concierge of mercenaries.

She looks over to Fiona and furrows her brows, "You know I think its supposed to be short for General Investigation, Resolution & Liberation Services. Though, if you ask me Kat and Jez were just trying to be funny." She gives Fixer a look, "Well, with an academic, mechanic, robot pilot, me and whatever Kat is, I think we could cover a lot of different job types. Though without true magical support me may want to stay away from jobs that are heavy supernatural. And guessing at my comrades beliefs, we should probably stick with grey market jobs, at the worst."

Analoy looks over to Fiona, "I don't think we're really looking to make a name for ourselves as much as we need to start generating some revenue. And, being that this is our first job as a team, we might want to keep it simple. Maybe along the lines of escort duty or a delivery job." Yeah, simple jobs because they never seem to get more complicated once you start them.

Before entering the JMC, Susan does a hit of Boing-Go to steady her nerves. Once inside, she takes a seat and examines the menu, while nervously glancing around at the crowd.

Maybe there's an expedition being put together by someone else I can join up with? If not, I'll have to see if they have a place of learning that I can get a grant from, perhaps.

She then peruses the jobs on offer on the electronic recruitment board.

If a waitperson approaches, she orders an entire pot of coffee to drink, black, with far more sugar than is appropriate.

Is There a Doctor in the House? By Chance, There Is...

A waitress (an older lady with silver hair and a skosh too much eye shadow) takes Susan's order and brings her the coffee with some extra sugar packets. "Here ya go, hon." She glances at the newcomer as she glances around the room and at the job boards. "Lookin' for work are ya? If you're looking for just a regular job, the boards can help you out sure... but if you're looking for more than just a one-time deal you might want to talk to Fixer over there. If anyone can hook you up with a group, it's him." She nods in the direction of a corner booth where a paunchy, middle-aged guy with a cup of coffee and a portable computer is chatting with three women. One is wearing a mechanic's jumpsuit, another is heavily tattooed with a black stripe that runs down the left side of her face, and the third looks... almost exactly like the waitress.

"Dang shapeshifters," the waitress scowls. "She'll probably make off with my tips if I ain't careful."

Three Girls, One Fixer...

Fixer's eyes widen a bit as he takes the patch. "Ohh my dear Miss Porter, what have you gotten yourself into now?" He stares at the patch for a few long seconds before looking up and clearing his throat. "I've known Miss Porter for a while now, ladies. Set her up with that giant fellow -- Iacchus, I believe his name was -- and they founded Paragon Acquisition Services together. Though I think that group calls itself Merctown Armed Recon Services now. Very gregarious and extraordinarily entrepreneurial, that gal... and though she tries to hide it, there's a touch of 'do-gooder' buried deep down." He taps the patch. "If this means what I think it means, then Kat was involved with the attacks on the Horsemen night before last..." he leans in and talks in a very low voice. "And while the Horsemen don't yet know exactly who was behind it, at the rate they're laying out credits it won't take very long. They've put a 50,000 bounty on each of their hovercycles that were stolen, and 150,000 credits for the identity and/or capture of who did it. But the catch is, there's no bounty on their corpses -- which means they want them alive. And that doesn't bode well for the ones they're after. So my biggest bit of advice is be super careful; there's a fine line between 'entrepreneurial' and downright reckless."

However, Cordelia's little quick-change act totally breaks the moment and gets a double-take from Fixer. "Well now, no wonder I couldn't get a read on you..." he chuckles. "Don't let Daisy see you do that, she'll likely accuse you of stealing her tips." He gestures towards Analoy. "Seriously, she's right though. Shapeshifting can be a great advantage in certain lines of work, but some folks don't take too well to those who can do it. That's a talent best kept under wraps except around those you can trust."

Leaning back he takes a sip of his coffee and clears his throat again. "But that's enough of an old man's rambling. You're here to look for work, aren't you? Well, there are the jobs on the boards of course... but there are a couple of jobs that haven't been uploaded yet. First off is there were a pair of high-stake heists last night. Both the Gulf East Trading House and Edwards Savings and Loan got robbed of roughly 10 million between the two. The owners are pooling their resources and are offering 200,000 for the capture of those responsible plus 5% of whatever's recovered. I'm no math guy but that's what, 600 grand if you can recover it all?" He shrugs. "The second one is more of an investigation job. I've got a cousin who lives in Cadiz, southeast of here. It's not a big place, just some good folk trying to eke out a living, but nobody's heard from them in a while. Last I heard from my cousin he mentioned a couple of missing townsfolk and that was two weeks ago. It may be nothing, maybe just some busted radio equipment or something. But I'd be willing to put up 250,000 of my own money for someone to go check on them just in case it's not 'nothing' and I'd consider it a personal favor."

His gaze catches Daisy the waitress talking to someone and pointing in the group's direction. "You weren't by chance meeting another member of your group here, were you? Long dark hair up in a ponytail, tan skin, very intense-looking. Definitely a professional -- though not in a military sense. Most likely a scientist or scholar."

((Rolls Carry Over))

Susan looks at the man the waitress indicated, chugging the coffee as soon as it's cool enough to drink. Looks like he's busy. I'll wait my turn.

After about two minutes of waiting, she gets impatient and walks over to Fixer and the three women he's speaking to. "HI! MY NAME IS SUSAN AND I'M TRYING TO JOIN AN EXPEDITION TO MADHAVEN TO STUDY THE MUTANTS. OR IT COULD BE SOMEWHERE ELSE AS LONG AS THERE ARE MUTANTS. THE WAITRESS SAID I SHOULD TALK TO YOU!"

She then turns to Cordelia and whispers, "She also said you're a shapeshifter, not her twin. I'd LOVE to get a sample of you. Nothing large. Just a swab. Maybe a toe. Hee, just kidding."

She then stands there grinning expectantly. Nailed it!

Aside to Analoy and Fiona:
"What do you think? It might be good to do a favor for Fixer. Having him in our favor could lead to keep us in his mind for bigger and better jobs. His cousin in Cadiz may be an easy job or an ambush. On the other hand tracking down robbers could lead to big publicity and that money. It may just be a tough time finding and catching bank robbers." Cordelia swallowed down the last of her coffee and looked over at Fixer and smiled. "Im open "

She looks towards Daisy the waitress. I guess Im gonna have to leave her a bigger tip for using her likeness.

To Susan:
"Whoa. Are you a doctor? Bring it in here I'll give you a sample." She flicks her tongue at her. "Seriously, I'll trade some DNA for some information. Share some data. And what about mutants?"

Delighted, Susan opens her backpack, and pulls out a cotton swab. "Thank you so much! If you can just rub this around in your cheek, that should do the trick. I am definitely a doctor, but right now I'm studying the effects that magic has had on the environment of Earth and how humans have adapted to it with an eye towards making the species more suited for the environment and providing enhancement without invasive surgery and negative side effects. From pre-Apocalypse documents, we know that even psychic powers used to be much rarer - the species is adapting all the time! But perhaps not quickly enough... So we need to see how else humanity is changing, mutating to address the environment and what valuable lessons we can learn from those new evolutionary steps."

Fiona mulls over the jobs offered, considering each one and the "friendly" warning Fixer has given them in regards to the Horsemen. Fiona gets up from her seat. "I'll be just a minute, I'm going to radio Jez and Kat real quick." Fiona says as she finds a quiet spot to talk to her employers. "So Fixer gave us some info and two job offers. The Horsemen are really putting the feelers out for whomever killed one of there men and stole two of their hover cycles. One of the jobs is Is an investigation into the theft of ten million, with a two hundred thousand price tag and a five percent finders fee on the stolen goods. The other job is to look into Fixer's cousin in Cadiz for two hundred and fifty thousand and he'd consider it a personal favor to himself. I personally think we should do the job for Fixer in any case, as having him on our side could be fortuitous. Either way let me know."

Fiona shuts off her radio and makes her way back to the group to find them talking to a new woman. What's all this now? Fiona thinks as she sits back down. "Hello, I'm Fiona, nice to meet you." Fiona says with a smile, before listening to the fast talking cyber-doc. "Mutants huh. Well as far as I can tell, we're not dealing with any mutants at the moment." Fiona says with a smirk. What is this woman on?

Analoy is looking between the other GIRLS present and weighing the job prospects that Fixer just gave them, as well as his warning about the Horsemen. Well, It seems I picked the right group to join. Master K'Sarlex will be happy to know that my new boss has it out for them. I should try to make contact soon and relay my standing here in Merctown.

Analoy made note of Susan when Fixer pointed her out, but when the woman made her way over to their private meeting with Fixer, her eyes narrowed in concern. If she's here to try and collect the horseman's bounty she's going to be in for a surprise. But when Susan blurts out her introduction, Analoy's eyes go wide and she gives a laugh at the completely opposite reaction that she was expecting.

Giving Cordelia an I told you so look, Analoy says, "Susan was it? Listen, we're in a meeting at the moment, so just back off and wait your turn. That is, unless your introduction was for us and not Fixer. If that's the case, just settle down for a moment while we get our job locked down and then we can talk."

Analoy looks back over to Cordelia as Fiona steps away to call the bosses, "Frak, for a second there I thought you were offering her a kiss." She gives a little chuckle.

Turning back to Fixer, Analoy grins and gives a little 'what can you do/new group' shrug before showing some concern and saying, "Sorry to here your cousin's having trouble. Did he say what was going on in town? Its kinda funny the whole town's gone dark. Usually there's more than one radio in town. Even a small town. But you never know. Could just be generator problems." That crap sounds like my parents homestead but a whole town?!?

Susan looks at Analoy, ashamed. "I'm sorry, I'M JUST VERY EXCITED AND NEW HERE. I haven't done this before and don't really know how it works."

Lowering her voice and turning to Fiona when she comes back, "Mutants are everywhere. Everyone with psychic powers or any powers besides magic is a mutant and even some of them. Before the apocalypse, there were no powers. We're all adapting as a species. Also in caves. I think there are a lot mutants in caves, though I don't have data on that."

If Cordelia does give her a sample, Susan pops a HUGE smile, "Thank you, I believe that shapeshifter DNA is key to advancing the human species. How else will we alter traits in mature individuals other than by using the secrets of an adult who can change him/herself?"

This seems a little unorthodox, I have never heard of this kind of thing in a professional meeting.
To Fixer
"Pardon us Mr. Fixer, sir. We will have an answer for you in just a minute. Excuse me please.

She steps up to Susan and notices that she seems a little shaky. Has she been drinking too much coffee. Maybe she is on the Juice. But she looks so neat and clean and she is a doctor. Or she claims to be a doctor. I would love to see her data. She grabs the swab.
To Fiona
"If this happens to be poisoned or drugged, You can have my Salamander."
She swabs the inside of her cheek and hands it back to Susan.
"Here you are doctor. If you could hang on for just a few moments until we finish our meeting with Fixer. Please I really want to talk data with you."

Susan nods sharply to Cordelia, "Yes, thank you for your cooperation. You have a good point, I will wait over here."

Susan takes the swab and goes back to her table, where she prompts her arm computer/sample case to start running DNA recording and sequencing. This information won't be any good without access to a lab, but at least I can keep it from degrading. I wonder if she/he/it is related to humans?

The entire time she's doing this, the fingers of her left hand are drumming out a synchopated rhythm on the table. The one lady seemed annoyed with me. Mercenarying is harder than the trids make it look. I'll have to make sure everyone knows how DEDICATED to learning I am and that I can help out with medical things and drugs. And genetics and...

"Waitress lady, another pot of coffee please!"

Fixer shrugs. "He actually didn't say. At the time I didn't put much stock in it because the Reithermans are adventurous types," he chuckles. "Well, Bianca is anyway. Bernard, not so much -- but that usually doesn't matter when she gets the urge. Yes, I hope that it's something simple like mechanical issues -- but like you said it's odd that we've lost ALL contact with the town. Something just doesn't feel right about it."

The conversation between Fixer, Fiona, Corelia and Analoy is abruptly interrupted by a drugged-up doctor by the name of Susan. Even Fixer is taken aback a bit by her brazen self-introduction. "Oh my..." he mutters. "I may have not been fully accurate in my initial assessment."

The three G.I.R.LS. multi-task by conferring among themselves about Fixer's job offers and introducing themselves to the newcomer. When Fiona radios the information about the offers to Kat/Jez she gets the following response about the same time the waitress comes up with a fresh pot of coffee. She does a good job of being courteous to the group but it's pretty obvious she's giving Cordelia the stinkeye as long as she's wearing the waitress' face.

Kat Porter wrote:"Tell Fixer we'll find his cousin. Plus, when we come through, he's gotta talk us up. His job is the lowest payday by far, but he's the right kind of employer for bragging about."

Analoy listens and nods as Fixer explains a little bit more about his cousin's town going dark. A number of different scenarios pop into her head as he talks, ranging from the simple and mundane to things much more dramatic and mystical in nature.

When Fiona comes back over, Analoy leans in toward her and asks, "Are we taking Fixer's job? Seems like that would net us the best result in the long run." She steps to the side and lets Fiona convey the message from Jez and Kat.

Nodding again to Fixer, Analoy excuses herself and steps over to Susan's table. Stepping up she nods to the woman and says, "Susan is it? That was some crap, walking right up to our meeting with Fixer and jumping right in." She gives the other woman a look over then asks, "So, are you really a doctor? I don't know anything about mutants, but if we take the job I think we're going to take, the team may have a need to bring a doctor along."

After Analoy speaks, Susan's eyes go big, clearly ashamed and slightly confused. "I'm so sorry, I'm not used to any of this and I'm really nervous and don't understand how to mercenary. I just got here from Lazlo and I'm so excited and it's all just so... MUCH." She pauses to chug down another cup of coffee. "And yes, I am a doctor. Analoy grins and motions to an empty seat, as if asking permission to sit, but she doesn't wait and she slips into the chair. Leaning in toward Susan, she says, "What you did was like walking in on someone's medical exam. Where I was before here, at best, that would have gotten you stunned or a beating to learn your place. Here," she shrugs, "its poor form and could cost you a job. Though the other could happen too, depending on who you cut in on."

Analoy pauses for a moment to let the weight of Susan error sink in. Then she smiles and lounges back in her chair, "Cyber-Doc and a student of the arcane? You don't normally hear of that kind of combination. I suppose your study of magic has to do with how its effecting humans. Regardless, if you can pull yourself together, I can get you an introduction to my bosses. See if they are interested in having a team doctor. But be warned, most of us aren't really interested in cyber mods."

Fiona approaches the group again. "Well Fixer, I've talked to Kat and the two of them agree that we'll look into the issue of your missing cousin. Kat did mention that she would like you to talk us up if we succeed." Fiona says to the concierge to the mercenaries. "So if you could give us any information you do have on the situation, that would be most appreciated." Fiona says logically, before looking to Analoy, Cordelia, and Susan. "Well I guess that about covers it. I suppose if Susan's really looking for work she could come with us and see if Kat and Jez want to hire her." Fiona says before turning directly to Susan. "Does that interest you?"

If this doctor drinks any more coffee, her heart is going to explode.
Cordelia pulls out her sketch pad and begins making notes. She is going to need better maps of the area. She wonders, being new to Merctown, who would be local law enforcement or would take reports of D-Bees in the area.
Perhaps a news paper of something. I need to start research before we head into Cadiz.
Id love another cup of coffee but Daisy might spit in it.
I will have to check with Kat and Jezebel about where to stock up on intel. For now keep quiet and look pretty and take notes. All information. This could be a good story. What would Erin Tarn do in this situation.

Susan freezes when Analoy finishes talking and actually turns fully away from her computer, the color draining from her face. "It seems like I have a lot to learn about how people do things here. I appreciate you letting me know. You seem quite knowledgeable about this line of work, I think meeting your employers would be extremely valuable. Also... please let me know where you were previously so that I can avoid going there." She then flicks her fingers in dismissal of cybernetics as she says, "I'm kind of... over cybernetics and bionics. They're an excellent stop-gap measure while we do more research, but they're only temporary. I'm much more interested in more permanent and farther-reaching enhancements of all types."

In response to Fiona's question, "I think my initial plans of launching my own expedition may have been overly ambitious. I would be happy to work with your team to gain experience. I am an excellent field surgeon among other things."

Jez and Kat arrive via a quick cab flagged down from the MercOps center. Walking into the JMC, Jez spots Analoy's distinctive haircut and tattoos and then takes in the others around her. Fiona's quietly managing them all as is her wont; Analoy's providing direction as usual; Cordelia's full of curiosity and taking gentle direction from the others as usual; and who the frak is this? Did Cordelia find a girlfriend or something? Jez elbows Kat and nods towards Susan. "Cordelia get a girlfriend, you think?" she leans in to ask in a hushed tone.

Straightening up and approaching the group, Jez swaggers up to the rest of the GIRLS. "SitRep, please." Jez quickly flags down the wait staff for a coffee, or asks Fixer with an ingratiating smile if he's still at hand.

Analoy waves a hand dismissively, "It doesn't matter where I was before. It's unlikely you'll ever go there and if you do, you'll have bigger problems on your hands. As for this line of work, well, I've actually never done merc work before. But what I have done applies pretty directly to this field as well." She leans forward a little more interested in the conversation, "What I really like to do is cook. I'm told I'm pretty good, but if Kat has her way, we'll all be eating spaghetti out of a can all the time."

Analoy grins as she catches sight of Jez and Kat coming into the JMC, "Speak of the devil." She holds up a finger to forestall any further conversation, "The bosses have arrived. I suggest you reign in whatever professionalism you have and make a good impression if you're wanting to join up."

Turning as Jez and Kat approach, Analoy says, "Fiona's conveying your message to Fixer and I'm talking to Susan here." She motions to the cyber doc that she's sitting across from, "Susan got a little excited and interrupted our meeting with Fixer just a bit. But the good news is she's a doctor and she's looking for work." She motions to Jez and Kat and says, "Susan, these are my bosses, Jezebel and Kat." She leans back, obviously giving Susan a opening to state her case.

Walking into establishment Two Claws is overwhelmed by the mingling of sounds and smells. Some of the smell almost made her gag while others made her stomach growl, particularly the ones emanating from the kitchen. Wanting a little more face to face time, she manages to walk over to the bar and tries to spark up a conversation. "Hello, how is your day going? ((Rolls Held))

Susan laughs a little too loudly at Kat's joke and smiles, "I'd be happy to wait until you're done to learn about your organization - certainly everyone I've met so far has seemed confident and effective. Also tough. Very tough."

When Kat walks away, she turns back to Analoy. Note - this chef was a trained killer and assassin before. In all the trid shows, that's what they say when asked about their previous work. "Thank you SO MUCH for the introduction to your leader! I'm not much of a cook myself, being a medical professional doesn't leave a lot of time to learn things like that. Mostly we just eat junk we order in. I look forward to anything you whip up. Hopefully we can put together an expedition budget that will cover something beyond canned spaghetti if your boss brings me on."

Two claws is greeted by a slightly overweight middle-aged waitress. "Hello dear, have a seat wherever." To which Two Claws finds a booth that no one is sitting in. After a few minutes the Waitress makes her way back to the young native. "Sorry dear it's busy, what can I get for you?" The waitress waits for Two Claws order. Once she's got it, she heads off to get the young native her order. After a short while she returns with food and/or drink that has been ordered. "So do you need something else while you're here? You look like you might be looking for work?"

"Thank you so much, this smells delicious. Funny you should ask me that question, yes I am looking for work. Do you have anything in mind or at least point me in some type of direction? " Adjusting her posture to show more respect as Two Claws speaks her response to waitress. She waits patiently with a smile and hands folded in her lap. She tries not to be too tempted by the smells of the food.

Fixer lets out an audible sigh of relief when Fiona relays the group's acceptance of his job offer. "You don't know how much I appreciate this," he says with what is undeniably a sincere tone of voice. "And don't worry, you pull this off and I'll be more than happy to talk you up. Like I said I'll consider it a personal favor for you and Miss... well, lookie here..."

He chuckles as Kat and Jez walk up to his increasingly-crowded corner booth. "Well well well... the gregarious and entrepreneurial Kat Porter, in the flesh," he gestures to what little seating space is still available. "It's good to see you again Miss Porter -- especially in light of what Miss Maccalister just informed me about your group's agreeing to investigate the situation in Cadiz. And Miss Faux as well? It must be my lucky day to get your entire team -- and then some -- here together."

He nods at Kat's question. "Cadiz is roughly 60 miles to the east, southeast of here. It certainly isn't a big town, in fact I'm not even sure the word 'town' is doing it justice. About 250 people at the absolute most, mainly farmers and miners with the odd adventurers like the Reithermans. They aren't exactly rich but they do manage to eke out enough to get by. No enemies that I can speak of... unless you want to count the Federation of Magic, of course. Alliance-wise, I'm not sure they're big enough to count as a significant ally to anyone although they do a fair amount of trade with the city here. Sulley usually makes it up here once a month or so in person, and the rest of the time I hear from him via the radio."

He ejects a disc from his computer and hands it to Kat. "I made this in the off chance someone would take me up on my offer. It's got everything I know about the town -- names, businesses, routes, photos, maps, you name it -- and when I say 'everything I know' it means everything the city officials know about it as well."

He gives the group a moment. "You should be able to get everything you need to know from that disc, but if you've got any specific questions at the moment I'd be glad to answer them to the best of my knowledge."

Any Questions for Fixer?
