The Transformation to Demigod: The transformation is not instantaneous. It takes 2D4 days (1D2 RP Days in PBP). Furthermore, the character suffers nightmares and feelings of paranoia and the transformation is physically and emotionally traumatic. Characters should roll to save vs insanity at -2. On a failed roll they must roll on the Random Insanity Table. A successful save means no insanity.
Duration: The power of a Demigod is long lasting but temporary: 6D6+24 days (3D4+6 RP Days in PBP). When the powers start to fade (they vanish in 48 hours [1 RP Day in PBP] once the process begins) the character can maintain them by eating another Golden Apple. This can be maintained indefinitely as long as the fruit is available, except the duration for all subsequent transformations is 3D6+11 days (1D4+3 RP Days in PBP).

Background pt1

Cale was born and raised on level 31 of Chi-town in January 88 PA . He was the oldest and only son of four. His father, who Cale was supposed to follow in a career, was a submarine captain for the CS Navy.

Right before Cale was to be sent off to the navel training center, his father was able to get permission for Cale to be a deck hand on his sub for tour out of dock to get the feeling of being in the CS navy would entail. While on the tour it was discovered that Cale could not function under water. The only place that he was able to work was in the galley. When the uneventful tour was over, Cale’s father used every last of his favors owed to him by upper brass to get Cale placed in the Military Technical School.

In training, it was discovered that Cale had a gift for making the bland, dull normal military food actually taste good. So, the brass decided to place Cale into a support battalion as a cook. There, Cale meet the man that would mentor him through training and in the field, Master Sergeant George Erevis.

Sergeant Erevis, or ‘Shadow’ as everyone that worked with him called him, was an ex-Commando that wanted to finish his career without getting any more bionics than he had. Taking Cale under his wing, he showed Cale how to fight with kitchen utensils. Considering a fully stocked CS mess will have a set of vibro-chefs knives. Cale took fighting with utensils so well, by the time graduation came, Cale could beat the commando cadets with a butter knife, thus earning his nickname ‘knives’.

After training, Cale was assigned to one of the support battalions that were being sent to the Tolkeen front. At the front, Cale fell into a routine, cook for the troops, storming a small Xiticix hive to extend food stuffs, threaten Dog-boys from sneaking snacks out of the mess tent.

After a few months on the front, the unit Cale was assigned was about to be sent back to Chi-town for R&R. On the day they were to leave, the Sorcerers’ Revenge was unleashed. As word of the fist waves of the counter attack reached the camp, Tolkeen forces attacked and overran the camp. Cale was in a mess tent getting ready to leave. A Missile hit close by and collapsed the tent and knocking out Cale.

As Cale came to, the first thing he noted was the lack of battle. After getting clear of the ruins of the mess tent with just a vibro-chef’s knife, Cale started looking for any other survivors. All he found was the dead bodies of his comrades and a squad of lightly armed human and D-Bee mages. Quickly and silently, Cale dispatched the squad as they were looting the camp. As that was finished, Cale collapsed in shock and from his injuries.

As Cale came to, the first thing he noticed was his wounds were tended to and in a bed. Dragging himself out of the bed, he was surprised that the being tending to him was a Noli Bushman Cyber-knight. The Knight, who introduced himself as Sir Rev, explained that he came across the battle site and found that Cale was the only survivor. Explaining that Cale has been unconscious for almost a month, they been moving in an untouched Kitchen model Mark V APC and they were close to the city-state of Lazlo.

By the time Cale was well enough for him and Sir Rev to part ways three months had gone by. Realizing that he was most likely listed as KIA. Cale decided it was time to see what the rest of the world has to offer. As they parted ways, Sir Rev told Cale to keep the APC, since he rather be on his motorcycle. After that, Cale started to head East to find adventure.

Weapon Systems
The Mark V Support Vehicles are not intended for combat duty. As such, almost all of their weapons and sensors have been removed. With the exception of the side laser turrets, all other weapons were left out of the modified designs. The side turrets were left so that the APC had at least some basic self-defense capability.
1. C-2T Dual Laser Turrets (4): There are two light laser turrets on either side of lite APC. These are operated by the co-pilot and gunner, primarily used against enemy troops. Each has full 360 degree rotation and a 90 degree arc of fire.
• Range: 4400'
• Damage: 4D6 M.D. per dual blast.
• Rate of Fire: Can shoot up to six times per melee.
• Payload: Effectively unlimited.
• Features: Modified for greater range
Features of Note:
Kitchen Facilities: The rear 2/3 of the Mark V/K contains a full restaurant-grade cooking area with two large ovens/grills, several microwaves, prep area, one high capacity/high speed dish-washer, and two cafeteria-style serving booths (one across the rear hatch, one through the center doors). The ovens in the Mark V/K use a combination of microwaves and infrared heat to fast-cook food. With these ovens a 20 Ib (9 kg) turkey can be cooked in less than 15 minutes, a roast in 10 minutes, and a pizza in 2 minutes. When adequately supplied and operating at peak capacity, a single Mark V/K can supply 500 hot meals per hour.
Water Storage and Purification: The two upper weapon turrets of the Mark V/K have been gutted and sealed to act as water tanks. Rather than have separate hot and cold water storage, water is heated or cooled as it reaches each sink (there are four large dual basins total). The APC also has water pumping and purification equipment with 2500 feet (762 m) of hose so that it may draw from available water sources.
Nuclear Powered: An effectively unlimited fuel capacity and power source. Average life: 15 to 20 years.
Sensor System Note: The Mark V/K has the following robot vehicle features (modified for increased range).
Combat Computer: Calculates, stores, and transmits data onto the heads up display (HUD) of the pilot's helmet. It is tied to the targeting computer.
Laser Targeting System: Assists in the selection and focusing of specific targets and adds a bonus of +1 to strike when using long-range weapons. Does not apply to hand to hand combat or SAMAS.
Radio Communication: Long-range, directional communication system with an effective range of about 550 miles (800 km), as well as a directional, short-range radio. Range is 6-11 miles. Plus a built-in loudspeaker: 80 decibels.
Spotlights: Typical range is 600 feet (182 m).
Voice Actuated Locking System: The robot's access hatch is scaled by an automatic locking system. A six digit spoken code programmed to a specific voice(s) pattern (six voice memory) is standard operating procedure. A manual key pad is provided in case of system failure/override.
Complete Environmental Pilot and Crew Compartment: The compartment can usually seat 2-6 people and is reinforced to protect the people from Mega-Damage. It is airtight, pressurized and suitable for use in all hostile environments, including underwater (500 foot/152m maximum depth) and space. The following features are included.
• Computer controlled life support system.
• Internal cooling and temperature control.
• Air purification and circulation systems, gas filtration. humidifier/dehumidifier automatically engages when needed. Can recirculate breathable air for up to four weeks before getting too stale to breathe.
• Computer controlled, independent oxygen supply and purge system that automatically engages in low oxygen or contaminated air environments. Twelve hour oxygen supply.
• Insulated, high temperature resistant shielding for up to 400 degrees centigrade. Normal fires do no damage. Nuclear, plasma, and magic fires do full damage.
• Radiation shielded.
• Polarized and light sensitive/adjusting tinted visor.
E-Clip recharging station:
• Utilizes the vehicle's power plant. Vehicular weapon systems are OFF-LINE when the station is in use.
• Capable of charging only standard E-clips.
