Alvidan access the drive and reports the following information as being on it
  • Small Profile for The Dread Pirate Nâgh.
  • Navigational Information on Jarus Prison, and it's surrounding local.

Jarus This small single star system has planets and a rather sizeable asteroid belt.

  • The sun is a basic yellow sun, that is a bit on the small side as far as suns go.
  • Jarus 1: A molten rock that is too close the the local star to be habitable or even useful for mineral purposes.
  • Jarus 2: Another lifeless rock that a unusual ovoid shape. The surface is battered and scarred from millennium of meteorite strikes and has no atmosphere to speak of.
  • Jarus' Asteroid belt. A few small mining operations are located here, but the majority of the wealth had already been carted off by much larger mining consortiums. The only location of note is Jarus Prison, which used to be a mining hub, but was converted into a prison when the large corporations moved out.
  • Jarus 3: A toxic gas covered planet on the edge of the system.

Information: Jarus Station]Formerly a mining station that was retrofitted into a super-max security prison.
Known Defenses:
  • Automated Point defense guns: These are for destroying asteroids and meteorites that stray too close to the station.
  • Laser Canon Turrets: 8 turrets spaced about the station provide defense from outside threats.
  • 2 Space Fighters (Unknown model/make)
  • Prison Guards. (Approximately 150 guards)

Alviidan comments, "If it used to be a mining station, there should be records in whatever place the company was chartered about the original design. That is a starting point at least."

Maybe we can sneak in by impersonating someone, maybe bribe someone to give us access. There is the guns blazing tactic, Vort would have liked that. Maybe sneak in. We need information on their security, personnel and building plans. Maybe some information on past inmates might come in handy Az Rael engulfs himself in the long and arduous task.

GM Note: You were using the wrong percentages. If you read a computer via Telemechanics, use your telemechanics percentage as it is clearly superior to your normal skill roll. ~Consumer

Second attempt, even more coffee): Even with a deeper look, apparently Prisons are notorious for keeping said information under tight wraps, Az Rael finds no usable info on this front. (6 hours)
  • Research (Research blueprints for the facility old or new, anything I can find.): Az Rael finds a positively ancient rough map of the old mining facility dating back 400 years ago. (5 Hours)
  • Research (Research past inmates of the prison, special attention to any who might currently be on center.) This turns out to be a rather fruitless search, as it seems this prison is where the CCW sends people to live out life sentences. (1 hour)
  • Intelligence (Sort through all the information I find and identify what is most important.): The fact that the prison is built in a 400+ year old mining facilty and that as far as Az Rael knows, has no security systems. Or the fact that all the inmates are lifers is an interesting note as well.
  • Lore: Dimensions (Anything I might know about the Jarus system not already stated.): Az Rael is pretty sure the information given isn't even correct, which is confusing seeing as his inside knowledge of who sent the information to him.

The next few days are a strange blur of activity as Az Rael sequesters himself in front of a computer for twenty plus hours. Érebos spends a great deal of that time going over the gear in the armory, even going so far as to go back over his work when he's done. Alvidan speculates a bit, but doesn't do much else. Bryke spends a chunk of the time looking over the Promethean Fighter, and finds it to much the same as when he piloted it last. except the consumables had been topped off.

In the end two days have passed and the group is now on the clock to acquire their live cargo.

Eventually one by one the group makes it onto The Wrong Ship, it's here that they are subjected to the reality of how nothing ever truly dies in the universe. The ship is a Golgan frieghter frame, noticeable due to hits stark utilitarian angles ans shapes, with both CCW and Naruni ship components filling in the rest. It has a motley array of color schemes, from gloss black common in Naruni equipment, to battleship grey from CCW ships, and a whole assortment of rusted/patinaed plates as filler. There are open panels with exposed wires and machinery all over. The things the ship does have going for it are the fact it's fully fueled and stocked for up to a four month trip, which given the Jarus system will take the ship approximately a month to reach, is comforting.


GM Notes/Questions: I am assuming the group will begin to make it's way to the Jarus system. So I need the following positions covered.
Pilot (with two piloting rolls), Navigation (with one navigation roll), Communications: With one Radio: Basic & one Invoke trust or Charm/Impress.

I will be covering the Group funds Requests during this time, with the assumption that all of the shopping was done just before leaving center.

Also, The maintenance requests will be taken care of while the group is away.

+15% to recognize the arcane.
-10% to perception rolls while directly in bright artificial light or sunlight.
Perception has a base skill rating of 15%, adding 3% per level each additional level of experience beyond first level. Purchased +25% with EP
Perception does not replace the Detect Concealment or Detect Ambush skills, nor does it replace Read Sensory Equipment or Optics Systems for use with technological sensors to perceive.
Like Detect Ambush, Detect Concealment, and other skills, Perception is an opposed skill check.
As with all % skill checks, a natural roll of 96-00 is a critical fail and a natural roll of 01-05 is a critical success.

Érebos finishes his inventory, sends the results to Az Rael, and then retires to his room with a stack of grimoires. After packing and preparing for the trip, he spends 14 hours of the next day as a recluse, studying the first one intensely as the group prepares to leave.

He suggests the following items be brought on TWS and put in the armory, if they are not already:
  • everything in the "other gear" list
  • half the Ordnance and Ammo list
  • half the vehicles
  • all of the armor
  • the following weapons: 10 vibro-knives, 3 hi-10 heavy laser pistols, 2x NE-4 plasma cartidge pistols, 2x NE-10 plasma cartridge rifles, 4x HI-80 Combat laser rifles, 2x laser sub-machine guns, the NE-97 "Triple Threat", and the CR-1 knockoff.

Anything else he will recommend be placed in GR HQ storage.

When (if?) the new equipment arrives, he will spend that day sorting, inventorying, and placing the equipment in its proper location (likely on TWS, depending on what arrives).

I haven't heard much from Az Rael lately... he must be buried in research thinks the Shadow Mage.

He notices the Promethean checking out the Ghost.

Interesting ship... heard about these but haven't flown one before.

Heals injuries at 1d6 per hour of rest or meditation.
  • Penalties and Vulnerabilities: -2 Spell Strength when cast in areas of bright artificial light or sunlight (with no shadow to cast in), and all spell effects, range, damage, duration etc. of Shadow Magic are reduced by half. -2 to Perception Rolls and initiative, -5% on skill performance when in daylight, overcast (without shadows), or exposed to bright artificial light. Vulnerable to silver! Any kind of silver blade or bullet does double damage. Over time, some Shadow Mages (5% chance per level- not allergic @ level 1, roll again next level!) become allergic to sunlight and suffer from headaches and nausea when exposed to it for more than one hour (-15% to skill performance, reduce speed 20%, -1 melee attack and -1 on all combat bonuses).
  • Speed: Érebos runs at 700 meters per minute, 175 meters per melee round, 26mph! Can run at half that speed for up to 12 miles before fatigue, or 1/3 that at full speed before collapsing.

Starting Location: Az Rael’s Room

After an entire day in front of the computer Az Rael is completely depleted. All that effort and little to nothing to show for it, he thinks to himself. He stands up from the computer and heads in the bathroom to take a shower and refresh himself. Maybe I can search some more on the way. We just have so little to base a plan on. I would hate to even head in the direction of the prison so blind, but we are on the clock. Could this, should this, come down to the old fashion blast our way in? Az Rael wrestles internally about what the perfect order of action should be and quickly realizes there is no perfect solution. Maybe we just need to fly by the seat of our pants on this one.

After the shower Az Rael checks his computer for any messages. He receives the inventory results from Erebos and his list of suggested items to load on the wrong ship fort his mission. After a thorough review he finds that the shadow mage has produced a very long, compete list. Nothing like a little paranoia to help you plan for a mission, he thinks to himself. Az Rael calls down to the front desk, ”B, I am sending you a list of equipment I wish to be moved to the wrong ship. Please make sure it happens quickly and completely." He then forwards the list to B.

Az Rael gathers all his gear and brings it down to the wrong ship and stores it in his room on the ship. After he has everything stored he makes his way to the front of the ship and greets Erebos, ”Hey Nico,” he says with a wink. ”I have everything you requested being delivered to the ship, thorough list. Thank you.” Az Rael take a seat at the communication console and preps for flight.

Radio: Basic 55% vs 1d100 = 89 – As requested.
Sensory Equipment 30% vs 1d100 = 53 – to see if he can operate the sensors.
Invoke Trust/Intimidate: 60% vs 1d100 = 22– As requested.

After he finishes prepping he turns to Erebos. ”20 hours and I didn’t come up with much. I found an ancient map of the place when it was a mining facility. Couldn’t find anything relevant on security. Did find out that most of the inmates are all lifers. Maybe they just abandon them there. They supposedly have 150 guards. You would think I would have found a little bit more on personnel. I may try to research a little bit more on the way. Gonna be a long ride. You seen the new meat or the promethean?”

Looking back at the controls Az Rael begins to struggle internally again. Someone must have more info on this place. This is either going to be really easy or really hard and I think I know where my money would be.

Before leaving to ‘bag a pirate’:

Bryke steals away, by phase warping to its room. There it gathers what the promethean feels will be needed for the mission. The Time Master looks lovingly over to its trusty phase cannon as soon as it returns to its room and makes sure to have all the phase cannons ammo, cleaning kit, etc. and does the same for the Vulcan and the two phase beamers.

All that fire power and it dawns on the little giant that this will never be enough to slay the 30’ tall “Dominators”.

I need real power… not merely machines.’ Bryke thinks. ‘To kill them all, I must become more than what I am now.

After placing all its heavy weaponry onto the Star Ghost, and the Draygon rifle into the “Wrong Ship’s” armory, and after all flight and weapon systems have been checked and made ready, Bryke speaks to the group,
I have some last minute things to attend to, I will be back before we launch. You can reach me on comms should we need to leave sooner for any reason.”

Bryke then heads out to find a wizard.

The promethean meditates often to replenish its energies fully. It also speaks as much as needed with the rogues to determine their course of action.
We can scout with the Ghost for as long as necessary before we actually strike. We will need as much intel as we can get.” The promethean then begins to ponder by rubbing a non-existing beard absently.
That’s my ‘½ a creds worth’ on it.”
These guys better not turn out to just be a bunch of meatbags, otherwise this crew won’t be able to go where I’m going- I was starting to like them.’
Natural Abilities
Doesn't breathe air and are immune to radiation and normal heat, fire, cold, gases and disease. Can see in total darkness and have eagle-like normal vision.
Phased bodies: Prometheans are in a permanent state of “phase.” Damage from any M.D. source becomes S.D.C. and any damage from an S.D.C. source is halved.

"We need to get the ghost in the hold of The Wrong Ship before we leave. I need to Radio Bryke and make sure he does that when he gets back from shopping. Yeah, I think we are flying blind on this one and I won’t lie, it scares me a bit." Az Rael looks back to the controls trying to get a feel for the ships communications console. The ship is new to him and the controls are much different than he is used to. This is all gonna be a steep learning curve. Better learn fast Az or people are gonna get hurt, he thinks to himself as he familiarizes himself.

Az Rael keys up the radio on the team channel, "Bryke, when you get back I need you to fly the ghost into the hold in the wrong ship for transport. Please acknowledge."

”I think your right, we need to scout the place out a bit. I am thinking we drop in close and take the ghost in. That way we can get direct intel instead of relying on what we find.” he says to Erebos without looking up from the controls. "We need more info and I intend to do a little more research before leave once we have the ship flight ready. If I'm going to run this crew, you know I will be leaning on you pretty heavy. You have always been there and I hope you know you are needed here. This is our chance."

”I saw some gauntlets on the inventory you sent me. I think you should use em. I know you don't like heavy armor. They may come in handly for you”, he says to Erebos finally looking back up at him from the controls. Once he is comfortable he has figured out the radio controls he stands up, "I'm gonna hit the computer up a bit more before we loose any research ability during the flight. If anything comes up, I'll be in my room on the ship." With that Az Rael heads back to his quarters and takes out his computer and tries to see if he can find anything more on the prison security.

After all of the preparations are made the team makes ready to leave. The group runs into it's first snag as it takes well over an hour to get someone of authority to release the ship for flight into night sky and beyond. Once contact is made, Az Rael is quickly able to convince the flight controller of the importance of their trip and gets permission tom take off. Érebos pilots the ship a bit shakily at first, nearly hitting another pad on the way out, but is able to get the ship into orbit and from there the Le Grange point of the system to make the jump form real space to FTL.


During this time Az Rael tries to dig up more information, but keeps getting vexed at every turn. Once the ship makes the jump into FTL he loses a solid connection and is left with the information that he has.

Alvidan manages to plot a course from Phase World to the Janus system, or he's says he did...

Scythe will follow Az Rael and the others to the Wrong Ship, then upon arrival to the Skyline Landing Pad, will turn to Az Rael and speak with a few minor but pertinent questions. "So, first things first; what do I call you. Shade in the field, Alex at base? Is there a preference? Same goes for everyone, I presume. I do prefer to go by Scythe, though if a new call sign in the field is required for obscurity, so be it." Scythe asks of the Rogues' leader briefly, then the others, allowing them to answer before continuing.

"And how will quarters work here? I require little space but do like a degree of privacy." He asks. I presume that'll need to be handled en mass as so many of the crew appears to be new. He muses.

Once those two questions are answered, he will then twirl his fingers and summon a small orb of simple Lantern Light (-1 PPE) to float above him as he speaks again. "Now, we must discuss more important matters. I intend to head to Center's storefront to find a few personal items, but after that I have a couple ideas for reinforcing the crew for future threats." He begins, not hiding his voice from the team or anything. Your odds are split at the moment, Aevum, be mindful you do not show your true capabilities before it is time. We still do not know who might use you, abuse you, or try to kill you. His blade warns him. Mindful is my middle name, come now. Scythe responds, withholding a smile. I can certainly say that Mindful is not your middle name, but neither is stupidity, so fair enough. His blade retorts and Scythe continues his conversation after what must've seemed like a several second pause boarding on deliberation.

"Among my talents is the ability to imbue simple items with magic; items that can then channel the magic for use of others. Commonly, they are referred to as talismans, and they are quite useful. With that use comes a heavy cost upon their creation, time and energies must be channeled; as well as suitable items to be their vessels." Scythe states, explaining the basics of talisman magic while subtlety moving the lantern light around as a means amusement for himself. "I have several basic spells, such as a simple magical armor, a basic form of invisibility or the ability to breathe without air that can be of use for us on the fly. However, the fashioning of these talismans will take time, time in which I could be at risk as my focus would need to be on their creation. Center is not known for its friendliness, after all. While I do not require an escort to preform this task, it would not be unwelcomed and would save me from spending additional time." Scythe then pauses, giving Az Rael the time to process his statement before asking "Thoughts?" He then opens to the floor, and anyone inside with him and Az Rael could've listened in and he would seek their thoughts, if applicable, as well.

When the wrong ship finally lands Az Rael is relieved, Home, as it may be for now, it is welcomed. He sighs, No one dead, but we still lost one. Where did I go wrong? What could I have done differently? Az Rael questions his actions wondering if it could have been different, and if it was... Would that have been better? When Scythe approaches his him he is almost relieved. A welcomed distraction, he thinks to himself.

Az Rael looks up at the man, What do I call myself? Who am I today? "Alex is fine, shade is only for any communication that can be intercepted. On mission time it is best to use our call signs. You will need a call sign yourself. Do you have a preference?"

I guess it is time to divvy out quarters. Might be better to assign them. Less chaos, Az Rael thinks to himself. "We have quarters. Each is sufficiently large. They are yours to do with as long as you are a member of the team." This should probably be handled as a group before we go inside, Az Rael thinks to himself. He looks around and calls out loudly to the group in whole, "Listen up!" Moving back to a normal voice once he has everyone's attention. "Room assignments as follows, Vidan in Room A, Bryke, I'll assume you want to stay in room I. Scythe, you take room H, with Bettie in room B. Pertinax, I hope room D will be up to your standards. Kesslan you take room C and Raz will be in room G." Confidence, maintain your confidence. Present as a leader. Be a leader. "If anyone has questions or concerns about room assignments address it later with me in private. I am sure everyone will be satisfied." Az Rael looks around at the group to see if anyone seem disgruntled. "Now follow me in and I will get the new members setup with security."

After announcing rooms assignments Az Rael turns to leave the ship and head into HQ, We need a name for this place. Something fitting. When Scythe continues his next topic Az Rael's interest is peeked.

"Hmm" Az Rael take a moment to think about the proposal. This could come in handy. I wonder what else he has up his sleeve. "Anything that will help bolster the group is welcomed. I can assign Wraith to come with you and stand guard. Nothing better than Promethean security on Center. The cost, do you have hard materials to buy for these? We can offset those costs if any. Armor, Invisibility and breathing without air all sound like useful spells. Can you fashion something for flight? We found ourselves in zero G in the prison and in those situations flight can be useful."

Az Rael lead the group to the front of the massive warehouse building and into the front door. He looks at the guard at the desk, "We will need to add a few folks to the security here. Any problem with that?" Az Rael will give the guard the needed information to allow the new members access into the building. Once all is complete he will address them all, "Feel free to check out your rooms and the facilities. I am going to get myself cleaned up and will be in the living room after should any you have any questions."

Raz is impressed by the security setup of the Rogues HQ. Very practical. No expense was spared for security. Good.

Raz nods to the room assignments, but does not say anything. Raz proceeds through security and drops his gear off in his room. Raz takes a quick moment to check his room over. Simple furnishings. Good quality. My own rest facilities. Nice. Raz pulls out his computer and, out of habit, conducts a sweep of his room for electronic eavesdropping devices.

Electronic Countermeasures-- 1d100 = 2/45% Pass (To disable any located eavesdropping devices)

Raz will locate Az in the living room. Raz is wearing one of his well tailored business suits. "Impressive headquarters Alex. I had a look through some of the group's equipment and I could not help but notice we are short on explosives." Raz will hand Az a list of requested equipment, (See Post for details). "I hope this is not asking too much. Demolitions and tinkering have become some what of a passion for me over the years." Raz will take a seat across from Az and relax while awaiting the others to finish their business. Without his armor on, the small discoloration to his scales appear to be small shrapnel marks that have formed scar tissue resulting in the small discoloration and bent scales visible.

Pertinax follows the others on to the Wrong Ship. He does not say anything during the short flight or as they walk into the Skyline base. He simply gives a curt nod when Alex gives him his room assignment, and follows him on a tour of the facilities. It is a set up that he is all to familiar from his infiltration missions outside of Tarlok space, a base of operations and barracks all under a discrete exterior.

He follows the team upstairs. His bed quarters are located across the hall from the mess hall. "I do not like the sound of people eating," he says with an audible sigh from his 'gills'. "But I suspect some in this group like to eat everywhere they go." Who that last remark is pointed at is anyone's guess.

"If you would like added security, I can watch over you will you produce your 'magics'," Pertinax says. You cannot trust the Prometheans, even when they are on your side. They act like space gods, trampling over the Three Galaxies and treating other species like ants. Then again, you cannot trust the magics of this other one, for he may accurse the trinkets he manufactures.

They continue the tour, and Alex introduces them to the security system. Pertinax looks at the guards at the front desk with a measure of skepticism; the security is nice, but he does not actually trust complete strangers to mind the front door. You will have to keep watch of the security guards in your free time.

"Very well, 'Alex'," Pertinax says. "I shall go collect my things and move them here. When shall we meet to go over the mission briefing? I would not like to spend my time idling around Center needlessly."

Pertinax has gear in a discrete corner of one of the lower levels, a safe space for storing equipment he had set up when he was planning his escape. Though, safe space is a relative term; here it means nothing will get stolen for two, maybe three, days. He fires up his NE-HC-120 and speeds it through Center (Piloting: Hovercycle (76%) - 1d100 = 92 FAIL) back to base, perhaps too recklessly. He parks his hovercycle in a quiet corner of the garage, behind some of the other vehicles, making note of any repairs the cycle will need. He takes the power armor and the rest of his equipment up to his quarters. Settled in, he reads the files he has on the Thundercloud Galaxy absentmindedly and tries to remember the last time he was there.

Alvidan has been here before, even it it was briefly. He already knows about the responsive AI that acts as both host and as a spy upon the people. It in necessary to leave the sensors in place if you want to use any of the facilities, from the lights to the sanitary facilities. It is an excellent setup if you want to keep a constant data stream on the occupants. He can get around it by various means, but generally it is not worth the effort.

Alvican will speak to Raz, "I am a bit of a tinkerer myself, though not much on Demolitions, perhaps you can teach me something. I can show you about a few areas of the market...but given that the market occupies millions of square miles I can not claim to know very much of it."

Alvidan notes, I will have to lose him before I head into the areas where my less savory friends are, but there are lots of places that can satisfy his needs.

He says to Scythe, "There is a magical work room one of our previous members used. He practiced some obscure form of ritual magic I was not familiar with. Still, it is a large area set up for the use of magic, with a number of different material in storage he used for his rituals. It may be suitable for you. Kesslan would arrive at the HQ, taking some time to familiarize himself sufficiently with the basic layout, as well as check out his quarters. Once that was done, he wastes little time in re-arranging the furniture in his quarters to better suit his tastes, and then goes off to fetch his stored equipment. To say that the Pantheran returns with a small armoury wouldn't be an understatement. Spare power armour, spare body armour, assorted boxes and outright crates of various ammunition, a hover bike, jet pack, power cells, batteries, several boxes of E-clips. The majority of his equipment was all earth based however. Some was more unique or had clearly been modified with Phase World tech. The most heavily modified thing, by far, however was a Naruni NE-BA-55 Exo suit, which was so heavily modified, one could be forgiven if they briefly failed to identify it by appearance alone. Outfitted with sensor pods, phase field emitter, force field emitter, micro missile launchers and assorted added sensor systems it was practically a completely custom job. Then there was a small assortment of various explosives and demolitions equipment, swords, sabers, throwing knives. One might even spot the vibro garrote wire.... And then there was a whole arsenal of guns from ones commonly found on Earth or Phase world, all of which had been modified to some extent, from everything to added options like various sighting systems to customized grips and other work.

The Pantheran was clearly an individual who leaned towards not only being prepared, but arguably hording gear.

Once all that was done and moved in, Kesslan started to sort out some of the equipment, much of it looking fairly primitive by Phase World standards and grouping it together. After that he'd finally go to speak with the others a little bit. "Are there any facilities for reloading and armoury work? I customize most of my own gear. Could help do much for the rest of you as well should we have the tools."

Scythe will make a mental note where his room is and follow to the security checkpoint to register with the security droid. Responding to Alex's statement, Scythe nods. "Ah, Wraith, our resident Promethean. Yes, on Center, having such an individual providing overwatch would certainly deter any direct problems, as well as encourage the support of the guards should anything actually happen. Not that I am predicting trouble." Scythe remarks.

Upon the return to the room area, Scythe nods softly. Excellent, only one directly near me is the Promethean. I suppose I should investigate these quarters. He muses and will make his way to Room H, though pausing at the door. Habitaculum. Scythe suggests to his sword. Temporaria Habitatio. Do not get comfortable Aevum; I would not be surprised if they watched your every move. Tessa responds, causing Scythe to frown briefly beneath his visor as he then enters his room.

He inspects the basic furnishings. During my creation of the talismans, I shall also fashion a few spheres of magical energies to return here with. Then I will fashion a couple dimensional envelopes using the spheres; this will help with security as the ability to access, or even see them is a skill only a select paradigm of individuals possess. Scythe reaffirms with his blade before leaving his room.

Scythe glances to the other known to him as Hidden and does a brief, though respectful nod of his head. "Ah, much obliged, Hidden was it? Yes, I shall do a full inspection of the room to ensure no detrimental magics persist in his absence. Any such rituals left behind by him I shall also attempt to decipher to ensure they are still of use to all. Assuming my claiming that work area is acceptable, I shall fashion it to be a secure magical vault and work-space; potentially an area to store questionable items as well." He finishes, glancing at Alex.

After inspecting the room Vidan mentioned, he will turn to Wraith the Promethean and Alex. "Unless there are other tasks to accomplish here, I am going to head to the markets and then to the closest Nexus available."

I will make task assignments at that time. Do you have any other talents I should be aware of?"

"As Vidan has mentioned," Az Rael says gesturing to Alvidan. "We have the facilities you both require. There is a machine shop downstairs, as well as a main lab with two additional smaller labs attached. We also have a spell book library for those who wish to study that needs to be moved from The Wrong ship tot he library upstairs." Az Rael looks around for Bryke, if he is with the group Az Rael says, "Bryke, I need you to secure Scythe while he constructs some items for the group. As Pertinax doesn't seem one for relaxing, if he chooses he may join you both. I will radio everyone once I receive the mission details."

When Az Rael is satisfied everyone has been answered he will take a moment to go to his office and research the Tarlok species.

Raz nods, "Appreciated, Alex." Raz continues to use the only name he has been given for Az. No subtext added. "Talents...Well the demolitions are just one side of my profession. By trade I am a locksmith. If i can not get it open quietly I can get it open loudly." Raz gives a wide grin, "All contents intact of course. I personally have always enjoyed the challenge of defeating locks and security. The addition of electronic and computer components add to the challenge, but are usually still over come. I prefer to work quietly, but I can work loudly if necessary. My armor assists me with working quietly, even though its protection my be less then other armors, it helps keep me unnoticed." Raz stretches his arms and several pops can be heard from his back and Raz lets out a low sigh of relief, "Well how about yourself, Alex? What do you specialize in? I guess as the leader you do not have to answer, but it would be appreciated."

"All too true," Pertinax says tapping one of his jaws with a long finger. "And in order to prepare we must know what we shall be facing. I have been to the Thundercloud Galaxy before, and each visit has been very different. My background is in operating in remote parts of the Three Galaxies, and the first step to any mission is research, research, research. When we know more than we are going there to find a large metal disc I can gather some intelligence for the team, if you would like."

"Yes. I shall help surveil Scythe until you have further orders," Pertinax replies. He then turns to Kesslan, "You make your own munitions? That is a useful skill. Perhaps in my free time I can assist and learn how to manufacture my own equipment. I shall be back soon. Scythe, you can contact me on my two radio. Let me know where you are working and I shall patrol the area." Before leaving he exchanges radio signals with the rest of the team.

When Raz asks Az Rael What he specializes in a large smile appears on his face. He demeanor becomes almost jovial. "I guess you could say death is my specialty. I prefer close and quiet. A more intimate affair really" Yes. I do believe I have forgotten the little joys of life recently, Az Rael thinks to himself. When Pertinax describes his experience with the Thundercloud Galaxy his interest is peeked. His eye brows raise slightly. Az Rael looks Pertinax dead in the eyes, "Your experience is welcomed. I will remember this when assigning tasks once we receive the mission details. I will indeed look to you, to help gather intelligence." Az Rael turns and walks away saying no more. All business with this one. He can smell weakness I am sure. Never let it show.

When Az Rael has a moment he will address the entire team, one by one or all together, whichever is available. He will question if the individuals have HUD/text capable helmets or comms for there armor. If they do not he will suggest upgrading their armor with group funds to standardize group communications.

Back at HQ:
Once everyone has spoken and are checked in and heading to their quarters, “The Promethean” decides to close its eyes and concentrate briefly.

Saying just before, “This one will be in its quarters, but will return after, and we will head out.

A clear picture of where the Time Master wants to go fixed in its minds eye. One moment it is there, and the next without a sound or anything flashy Bryke is in its personal quarters.

Stepping into the space after shifting [every time it stops and is back physically in the 3-D world] Bryke speaks a silent mantra, “This one IS.”
The twins at its sides “Brik and Brak” float out and up of their holsters simultaneously, then pause in midair as Bryke walks to its weapons cleaning station. Once there and seated the twins follow, then alight on opposite sides of the work area. “The Promethean” disassembles, cleans, and reassembles its two heavy mega damage weapons then places them on their rack. The PH-400 going on top and the Vulcan just below. Once done with that Brik disassembles, cleans, and reassembles itself, then Brak. All the while Bryke, watching carefully, stands arms folded, periodically walking a tight circle around them like a planet irregularly orbiting the Sun.

Bryke then moves to a designated place pointing east and meditates for a while. Centering itself, revisiting events that played out up to the present. When The Promethean is full and grounded in the material plane [all energies are replenished] it heads out and meets with Scythe before going into Center's market places.

Az Rael: Lore: Dimensions (Think about anything he might already know about the species.): They're a conquering war-like species that inhabits a system near the TGE. They have been slowly claiming the planets of their own home system. They are relatively rare in the scheme of galactic affairs. They're more of a Lore: Galactic than Dimensions, but I gave you something.
Research (Search the center internet and databases for information on Tarloks): Either the HQ computers (and the internet on Center) know nothing about the Tarloks, or Az Rael is looking in the wrong places.


Upon entering the Naruni Pre-fab office building, the security guard looks up at Az Rael, before pointing to a small portable hardrive on his console. "Package arived for you from Mr. Thraxus." The guard says before Az Rael can explain the new folk.

Az Rael wrote:Az Rael lead the group to the front of the massive warehouse building and into the front door. He looks at the guard at the desk, "We will need to add a few folks to the security here. Any problem with that?" Az Rael will give the guard the needed information to allow the new members access into the building. Once all is complete he will address them all, "Feel free to check out your rooms and the facilities. I am going to get myself cleaned up and will be in the living room after should any you have any questions."


The security guard, whether same from before or a new one, Az Rael is unsure because of the Naruni Armor. Nods and sets about adding the newest members of the Rogues to the system, it involves a few pictures and a voice sample from each new member. It's about here that Az Rael and the others notice Bettie's nowhere to be found. A rudimentary search discovers she never got on the ship in the first place having vanished somewhere in Thraxus' Manor.

Az Rael assigns new rooms to the others, and the term room is a bit of a misnomer as each suite is the size of a very large apartment or small single story home. Having Bedroom, living room, in suite kitchen, and bathroom all included. Each is sparsely furnished with sturdy but functional furniture and normal sundries (Dishes, Toiletries, etc.)

Several hours pass as various trips by various people move their personal belongings into the building.

Alvidan in a conversation with Scythe makes up some nonsense about a ritual room that never got made. (May have been discussed, but was never implemented) When Sythe investigates the room he finds it to be a very mundane general use laboratory with no mystical trappings whatsoever.

Other then that conversations go as expected/planned.

Once Az Rael has everyone settled he goes back to his room. He attached the portable drive left at the front door for him to his computer and opens the files for review, Now let's see what the boss has in mind. Az Rael thoroughly reviews any documents on the drive before he even considers bringing it into the group. While in his room he sends an encrypted message to Reaper,

We must always think of the cause. Once Az Rael receives the account info he will transfer 100K credits to the account from his.

Az Rael contacts the guard at the front desk, "I need a list of approved contractor for the building. I am looking to do some work to my quarters." When the guard send the list up Az Rael will forward his room design to the contractors for quote.

In between studying and working on the alterations to his living quarters Az Rael take brief moments to reflect on the previous mission. No one died. Is that the consolation. We got paid. Is that all that matters? We lost a strong member of the team. Was that purely my fault? Could I have done something different to change the outcome. He was so concerned about Scythe. We were severely outnumbered. It was a calculated risk. Was it worth it? Satisfied that he will never truly be satisfied with any answers he may come up with for himself he moves on, to return back to the subject again at later times.

When he has an opportune moment Az Rael will seek out Vidan. Alone in conversation he asks him, "I need to know how much of the building surveillance is being trafficked outside through the network. I need to know if there is anyone tracking our network usage as well. I don't want you to interfere with it, just report back what you find. Basically, I want to know how public or private or new home is. Can you do that?"

Once Az Rael is done talking with Vidan he gathers the group. "I have gone over the information provided by Thraxus. There is not much there." Az Rael reads to the group the note from Thraxsus.

Pertinax arrives to the conference room for the briefing and stands against the back wall. It would have been nice if Thraxus had provided more details. The deevils are in the details, as the saying going, especially when going to the Thundercloud Galaxy. If a galaxy can have a theme, then the Thundercloud's were wild, dangerous, and unexpected.

"I am not from the Thundercloud Galaxy, Pertinax corrects the squad leader. "I have been there several times. Usually sent to recover some form of alien technology. Every trip has been very different - environments, primitive alien species, nothing alike. I do not recognize this planet. But if the information given is correct I doubt these primitives speak a Trade language. I will research more in between my other chores."

When the briefing is over, Pertinax approaches Alex. "You had mentioned upgrading all our communications earlier," the Dreadmaster says holding out his mask. It is made from leather, and it looks as if someone had torn off any badges that may have been fixed to it. Someone with a keen eye, and knowledge of the Tarlok military may figure out that it once belonged to a Warlor Horde Gar. "This has a simple two way comms system. I would appreciate if it was upgraded. In the meantime I shall make use of what is already in the base's armory. I lost some of my equipment on my way to Phase World."

He then heads off to the armory and peruses through what is available.* He is disappointed, when he remembers passing an armory in the Wrong Ship. Judging by the condition of other members' EBA's, they would need want to keep to have spare gear on hand during a mission. On the ship, he finds an N-F40A Heavy Force Field, an NE-10 Plasma Cartridge Rifle, along with five short E-clips. He had a lot more gear with him when he left the Charizolon System, and he remembers a Tarlok ship following him, orders from Brood Gar Septimid, and then he found himself on the Center with his hovercycle and what gear he had left. Curious.

After storing away his equipment, Pertinax goes to the library and starts to search for any information that he can find about the planet they are heading to (Lore: Galactic (40%) - 1d100 = 16 SUCCESS). He decides to supplement that information with radio chatter; he goes to the base's comms array and listens for any mention of the planet, maybe someone traveling to that part of the Thundercloud Galaxy (Radio: Basic (75%) - 1d100 = 91 FAIL). Unsatisfied with his results he decides to try see if his spy instincts can yield any results. He scans the radio for any secret channels - military intelligence, smuggler transmissions, or even mercenary band for a mention of the planet (Electronic Countermeasures (60%) - 1d100 = 51 SUCCESS).

Gathering together what information he has, Pertinax then checks with Kesslan. If the Pantheran does any work in the machine shop, Pertinax will offer any assistance he can. It is a chance to observe he new teammate and determine what his intentions are. At the same time, he learns the value of making his own weapons. Being on the run, this is a skill that could prove invaluable, especially if he needs to arm a squadron for Dreadlor further down the line.

In the evening, Pertinax skulks around the base, he keeps a watchful eye on the security guards (Intelligence (60%) - 1d100 = 97 FAIL). He takes note of where every security camera is. Unfortunately, he cannot tell the difference between them, the non-Tarlok all look so similar, and he is left to wonder who the watchmen are watching. They are most likely reporting your movements to the boss.

* I will make a note of all items that were borrowed in Pertinax's equipment sheet and any other thread that is necessary.

Raz listens to the briefing and is surprised when it ends so quickly. Not many details there. Looks like we are going to have to find our own way on this one. I'm sure Thraxus has a greater information network then what this would show. I wonder why he did not use it? Maybe this is not as important to him as he would have suggested?...No this is important to him. Just something he can not focus on right now, so he uses the assets he has available, which is us. Agent Burk may be of some help with this. I will have to trade carefully. He is likely still shaken up by every thing from the past few days.

Raz will approach Az, "Alex. I will see what information I can gather regarding this area of space. I will be out for the rest of the day. I will return when I have something. You can reach me on the radio should an emergency arise while I am out. By your leave." Raz will give a slight bow and head back to his room.

Raz will don his armor and buckle his belt, he leaves his rifle in his room, and heads out to the Phase World equivalent of a cyber cafe. Once at the cafe he will look up several other backwater planets that are similar to our target planet. With three other coordinates Raz will compose a message to Agent Burk asking for the information the GSA has on all the planets at the coordinates. Raz is mixing his target in with or planets so he does not tip off Agent Burk to his real target. Raz will send the message directly to Agent Burk's home message system.

Good day my dear friend. I hope you have been able to recover from your ordeal. Having rifts open in front of you is quite a sight I'm sorry I missed it. Maybe one day we can meet. Raz will then use his computer skills to delve into the darker side of the networks looking for information regarding their target. Raz will look for the black market information regarding the area. Who runs it, if there is someone who runs that area of space for the black market. If there is what items are trafficked in and out of there.

Raz will then sit down for a meal at a decent restaurant. Raz will pay for his meal up front so he can get up and leave at any time. While here Raz will trigger total recall (-2 ISP) to identify everyone who was possibly following him from the other shops.

Detection of surveillance is Identifying the same people or group of people over time, distance, and direction.

Raz will move to the back exit of the restaurant and leave. Raz will Prowl the back alleys. Once Raz is sure he has lost any surveillance he will make his way back to the Rogue's HQ.

I wish we had more information. Perhaps one of the major players of magical users will be of help. Scythe thinks and goes over the information and nods, "I will make a stop at the Institute of Magical Arts near the Warlock's Market to see if I can gain entry, and find out more information. I expect they would have some manner of record or divination available to them that can help us in this regard. Depending on it's relative position to the Nexus, and or their willingness to aid me, I may also fashion the talismans while there. I would also seek to upgrade the communicator on this suit to group standard." Scythe remarks, then adds, "I am leaving to conduct these errands. I expect to be gone most of this day as well, though I am available on radio."

To Pertinax and Byrke, he will add "I will radio you when I am ready to fashion the talismans, should I not be able to fashion them in the Institute."

When the question came up about the planet the group was going to, Kesslan didn't know anything about it. At least, not off the top of his head, but that didn't mean he couldn't try to dig around and see what he could find out. "I can't promise anything but I'll help see what I can find on it." was his simple response before he'd consider just how he was going to go about that. This is Centre, if there's any information to be had, there's bound to be some here, or at least leads on who to talk to to find some.

First off, he'll stop to try and think about anything he may have heard about the planet

"I have said similar words to my own military units in the past," Pertinax replies with a nod. "We shall see if those sentiments are matched by your command in the field.

While searching through the armory in the base, he also grabs a Kimarxi hunting knife and tucks it into his waist. He was troubled by Alex's behavior after the briefing; the squad leader had shown signs of weakness that Pertinax finds worrisome. The knife will be useful if/when Alex betrayed the team. He looks at the blade with a sigh of lament; he has provided similar service to Dreadlor that, despite their best efforts, were not meant for military service. In reality, this was not mutiny, nor was it a cruelty. It is an act of mercy - to spare the soldier the shame of returning to civilian life a disappointment, and to protect the squadron from an inherent weakness.

At night, while everyone else is asleep, Pertinax sits in the comms room and listens to chatter on the radio (Radio: Basic (75%) - 1d100 = 92 FAIL), hoping to hear any discussion of anyone traveling to the Thundercloud Galaxy. He will take not if anyone mentions needing certain gear, or expecting to face any kind of danger.* Likewise, he listens for any encoded transmission (Electronic Countermeasures (60%) - 1d100 = 68 FAIL), except this time he is listening for any transmission sent out from within the building. Aside from his concern about Alex's agenda, Pertinax also has a 'healthy' distrust of his new teammates, and he will want to know if anyone else is hiding something.

* This was supposed to be a different search from listening to the radio during the day, but he's just not having any luck with the base's radio. It's enough to make a guy paranoid... moreso...

Raz makes use of a GSA agent, who does actually respond to his unusual method of communication.

Scythe makes a trip to the only magical institute on Center with a proposition. While the people Scythe talks to are polite, they do not seem inclined to offer him a position at their facility, stating something along the lines of hiring adventurer types as professors only end in issues for the institute. As for scholarship, they offer the standard spiel that is offered to all students.

What you'd have to do.
A sizeable donation, 1,000 credits times current level per year. It gets you the same kind of benefits as joining the Collegiate in Merctown.


In the end three days have passed and the group is generally reconvened at the headquarters.

Alvidan spent most of the last three days looking over what is available and assisting other to find their way in the parts of Center he knows. While doing so he was also, covertly, putting feelers out to find out where a usable magic Tattoo artist would be. One who is either an Ahriman who is connected to the Sunaj, a minion of the Splugorth willing to assist another minion, or a magic tattoo artist one willing to do a tattoo for remuneration without questions asked. It has to be one of those, because any Tattoo artist will know he is a Tattooed man, and also know he is not a standard one. The best he could do is clam to be an Atlantean Nomad if questions are asked, some of those have enough tattoos to be transformed into a Tattooed man. His Tattoos are not quite normal for that, but not impossible.

He is not the best at this type of thing, which is why it took so long.

Having turned up effectively... well, nothing useful, Kesslan will just take the time to relay the lack of his findings to the team when he gets the chance. Once that was done he'd then turn to the subject of looking to better furnish his quarters to suit his own tastes. This would include looking into the pricing of wall mounted weapon racks, munition storage lockers, fireproof cabinets to store chemicals and assorted workshop like items, as well as some armour storage lockers. He'd also look to price out some basic furnishings such as some good quality dressers, closets and a high end bed to sleep on. At least this way, when ever I leave this place, they won't have to worry about all the radioactive contamination and can just throw it all out...

When it comes to the equipment, Kesslan doesn't care if it's used or stolen, he only cares that it's in good, serviceable condition.

I'd also want to furbish a proper gunsmithing workshop that can handle energy weapons as well as projectile firearms and heavy weapons. Az Rael takes the contact from the guard, "Thank you. I will contact them directly." Az Rael returns to his quarters and contacts the individual who the guard gives him. He take the time to explain to the person what he is looking for and offers to provide a sketch. he discusses with the individual that his budget is in two parts. He is looking for decent construction in the rooms with an exceptional Vault. Az Rael explains he has a budget of 50K credits for the regular construction and 100K credits for the vault construction. In regards tot he vault he tells the man he is looking for something that can take exceptional damage and has a DNA lock system with an alternating code combination verification. He lets them know that he expects to be out of town for a while and would like the work completed when he gets back. Az Rael will transfer the needed funds to the contractors account so there is no delay in construction while he is gone.

Az Real turns to Pertinax, "I'll be piloting the wrong ship, I would like you to be my co-pilot during the trip. do you have any concerns with that? If not, I want you to familiarize yourself with ship controls. Make sure we are flight ready. Also please familiarize yourself with ship weapon controls should we need to use them." Az Rael nods to Pertinax, "Your experience in the Thundercloud galaxy will be appreciated."

Az Rael turns to Scythe, "You mentioned earlier those talisman. Will you have time to complete those before we leave?" Az Rael then addresses the group, "In between preparations please make sure you get your gear loaded on the ship and ready for travel. Without much more expected info, we will be leaving once preparations are ready. I will be finishing up the group purchases we all discussed. If anyone needs any lastminute items now is the time to tell me or it will be too late." Az Rael turn to look at Alvidan, "Make sure you hurry with your tasks, I want you on board and ready to go when the others are ready as well." Az Rael dismisses the group to their tasks.

Az Rael makes his way to the mall to complete the shopping for the group items. He is pleasantly surprised how available most of the ammunition is. When he finds someone to complete the modifications to the armor he is equally happy, These new upgrades will come in handy. I am positive. He finds himself having trouble locating a source for the point defense drones he is looking for though. I really want those buggers for this upcoming mission. Az Rael visits the first place he can think of with no luck and tells the shop keeper, "If you hear of a source please keep me in mind." He thinks of another place and investigates only to be disappointed again. Walking out of the second shop waving, he receives a radio transmission from the shop keeper from the first store telling him of a place he may want to visit. Az Rael heads to the shop and explains to the proprietor what he is looking for, "two, yes two." he confirms when the man asks. "Can you make that happen?" he asks the man.

Raz wakes early after spending three days on research and some not so legal inquiries into their planet. Raz makes his way to the gym to utilize the equipment. Raz, glad to have equipment to challenge his supernatural strength, spends close to two hours in the gym to clear his head before heading back to his room to shower and change. Did I miss something...No, everything was good. I even broke into the data base and there was nothing...As far as the Galaxy is concerned this world does not exist. Interesting I did not think there were many places left the galaxy had forgotten about. I guess I was wrong.

Raz seeks out Az to brief him up on the lack of information available on this world. "Alex. Glad I caught you. Can you spare a moment. I wanted to go over what I found on our planet...Well more like the lack of information on our planet. I swear I have found more information on the location of the Forge then I have on this bloody place. Black market has nothing on it. No trade or goods coming from it. The GSA has nothing, but then they would not be able to find a cruiser in battle group. More light escapes a black hole then information on this place. I hate going in blind to a situation but sometimes there is no avoiding it. Anyway let me know if there is anything else I can look into for you." Raz turns away then immediately turns back to Az, his tail quickly swinging close to Az's feet. "Oh one other thing. I spotted a few HI-80s in the Armory. Would you mind if I procured one for use?"

Raz nods to Az. "It will be my pleasure." Raz hands Az his helmet, "While I am looking over the ship would you be able to get the HUD and Comms gear for this helmet? Oh Once i am finished with the ship I will be working on some explosives. I will be using the Machine shop. Please limit the people who move through there while I am working. I do not want to have any accidents. I will post signs while I am working as well to help mitigate any potential danger." Raz leaves his helmet with Az to get the HUD and Comms mods. Raz will then look to Kesslan. "So I guess we have a ship to inspect."

Raz will leave to inspect the Wrong Ship. Raz will start with the outside and work his way in. Inspecting the hull, weapons, engines, and appointments. Raz will make his way inside and begin checking the integrity of the bulkheads and blast doors. Raz then head to the engine room and inspect the condition of the engines. Once complete Raz will head to the bridge and run a system check to include looking for any unauthorized signals emanating for the Wrong Ship. With that out of the way Raz will ping the Rogues HQ with the ships comm system to ensure it is in good working order. Rogue HQ this is the Wrong Ship. Comms check.

For the next three days Raz will rise and continue his routine of hitting the gym early and set himself to making improvements to his explosives. Raz will then begin working on converting the holo-displays into explosive devices. Raz will take up shop in the Machine shop Shop area to limit any damage from a mistake Raz will clear a 20 foot area so no tools are damaged if he messes up. Raz will also make a "Danger Explosives" sign and post it on the doors while he is working. Raz will also not work with any more then two khex blocks at a time. While he is working the other khex blocks will be secured in the armory. During this time Raz wears only a pair of shorts and a Force field to limit the damage done to critical gear.

Three days of research and radio listening has resulted in little intel and just a lot of reasons to suspect that the Three Galaxies are a dangerous and full of unsavory characters conspiring to do questionable things. When Alex convenes a meeting Pertinax arrives right away and sits in the back of the room at rest, hands clasped behind his back.

"Yes," Pertinax nods in agreement. "This been my experience while serving in the Tarlok military as well. Go to a remote part of one of the Three Galaxies, explore a planet and infiltrate its local population, extract asset, usually kill all witnesses, and exit without any fuss. It sounds easier than it is to execute.

"I shall familiarize myself with the... ship," Pertinax replies with a pause. The code names this team used were beneath him, and it was true even of the ship. "You look like the type of indecisive pilot that would need someone supervising you, lest you crash into an asteroid while trying to dock the ship. I shall be your 'co-pilot'."

"It is never the same trip twice," the Dreadmaster replies, providing as much insight as a British baking judge.

After the briefing, Pertinax goes to the Wrong Ship and settles into the pilot's seat. He goes over the controls and the weapons systems. He finds the comms system and turns it on, he uses it to listen for news from anyone heading to or from the Thundercloud Galaxy. After all, madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. He will also tune in to listen for any messages coming in and out of the base. After all, madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

Afterwards he settles into his quarters. Stir crazy, he decides to redecorate. Pertinax has spent nearly all his life in the Tarlok military, and he wants something more practical. Or rather, whatever he would consider practical. He goes to the armory and looks for any weapons racks or stands he can appropriate. The first step is moving out all of the furniture from the bedroom. Empty, Pertinax props up his Loksuit Power Armor up in a corner. The weapons go on a rack against the wall or some sort of chest. He places a table in the center of the room and puts his HPC and any files and documents he has from his past life. The bed and dresser go in the main room, effectively turning the apartment into a studio with a secret war room.

In the evenings (at least until they depart on their mission), Pertinax patrols the hallways of the Rogues' base. Eventually he will find himself in the comms room each time. And he turns on the radio to listen for any chatter in the Thundercloud Galaxy. Not just for any mention of their destination, but reports of pirates, wars, or explorers on any quest. He will also listen for any transmissions from his teammates, keeping an ear open to any hidden agenda. After all, madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

Scythe begins his multi-day jaunt by heading first to the market level where he can acquire some needed, albeit secondary, equipment. He first makes a stop at an adventuring outlet, lined with basic armors, backs and survival gear. I've got to be able to carry more, may as well start with that. He thinks to himself as he finds an EB-20 Hunter Environmental Backpack and nods. Several pouches, possible to convert a couple to dimensional pockets. Scythe then stops by a specialist in the armored section to get a tailored M.D.C. cloak to replace his current windbreaker style cloak, designed to be fitted around the W-F1, rolled back during combat or forward to obscure the armor.

Scythe then travels to find other common, though needed items. Gathering a couple canisters of black metal-spray for emergency repairs on his suit or hull, as well as several dozen talisman materials from a local gem crafter. Excellent talisman materials; I wonder if our resident tarlock would be upset if he was given the pink one. Hmm. Maybe I should fashion Fear into it, just so he can be as intimidating as he thinks he is while using a pink gem… decisions, decisions. Scythe ponders on how to go about the talisman creation as he places the materials in one of the pockets, then moves on to finding several other, more important items.

Finding a holographic personal computer and an eclip powered Multitool was simple. Even the wrist-worn telepathic communicator was located as Scythe nods in approval. Excellent, more versatility and range for one of my most favorite means of communication.

Finally, Scythe tracks down the Phase Sword and when he finds the rare sword in question, his own blade comments almost sourly. Oh, do you really need another blade? Is this trying to tell me something, Aevum? Tessa remarks, causing Scythe to smirk. Oh, come now. You mean to tell me you want to be used to slay any and all transgressors? I'd think you'd relish at the opportunity to let another blade do the cutting. This also lets you refocus your efforts. Scythe responds silently, paying for the blade and heading back to the Institute. True enough, I suppose. Besides that, I can live vicariously and offer keen insight in the meanwhile.

Scythe then heads to the institute and pays 10k to the registrar there. "This should cover me for a two years, plus extra on the top. I will also need to rent a research room on occasion." Scythe remarks. He attempts to find more information and turns up empty handed causes him to scowl as he returns to the Skyline Headquarters after a few days.

Scythe joins the crew in the conference room with a drink in hand.

"The Institute's knowledge was lackluster regarding this, I regret that turned up rather fruitless. However, I did establish a student association with them that will grant me access to research materials and locations in the future." Scythe comments, rolling the ice cubes in his glass before taking a sip and listening as Alex dolls out directives.

Scythe lets a smile cross his lips and nods. A lack of witnesses is helpful, in most situations, though... he muses before commenting. "The existence of witnesses may well be what we need. With any luck, Thraxus's adventures may be in the local populations records, verbal or written, should they exist. Regardless their language or customs, I should be able to communicate with them to determine that when we arrive, for they may even have a mythos about such beings and items in their history."

Scythe nods. "Ah, yes. I had planned on taking care of that earlier, but got distracted while digging through their materials. I can return today and use one such research room to fashion them, it won't take more than a few hours considering it's location and proximity to a Ley Line." Scythe comments.

Scythe nods, taking a sip from his drink and adds, "Anything against taking a bottle or two of drink with me? I find it to be a passing fancy, and it tastes remarkably well." Scythe comments, almost jestfully before standing. "Give me a half a standard day, I will head to the institute to draw on the local magics and fashion the talismans in question. I have no gear beyond what I wear that needs to be of concern, though I will ensure it is ready to go."

As Scythe returns to the Institute, he will request a private research room and pay what is required to use it for 12 hours uninterrupted.

Scythe can draw 20 PPE per combat round from a Ley Line, which is 80PPE per minute.
80 PPE per minute translates to 4,800 PPE per hour

Talisman Spell: 500 PPE + Cost of Spellx3 (3 Charges)
Talisman's being created;
  1. Armor of Ithan x 7 (530 PPE per) = 3,710 PPE total = 46.4 minutes to create assuming no interruptions.
  2. Breathe without Air x 7 (515 PPE per) = 3605 PPE total = 45 minutes to create assuming no interruptions.
  3. Invisibility: Simple x 7 (518 PPE per) = 3,626 PPE total = 45.3 minutes to create assuming no interruptions.
  4. Lightblade x7 (560 PPE per) = 3,920 PPE total = 49 minutes to create assuming no interruptions.

Scythe will take a 10-15 minute break per talisman creation event.

Once those are created, Scythe will fashion a couple other talismans for his personal use.
Tongues (536 PPE) + Lightblade (560PPE) = 1,096 PPE total = 13 minutes to create.

Total time to create the Talismans will be at or under 4 hours assuming no interruptions.



Scythe will then turn to his newly acquired backpack and look at the two attachment pockets on either side of the pack. He will cast long-term Dimensional Pocket for the maximum duration on each of them. Costing 280 PPE.



Finally, Scythe will then create two Energy Spheres (240 PPE, pouring max allotted amount into it for a total of 600 PPE) which will take him 10 minutes or so, to take back with him to HQ for one final fashioning before he is ready to leave.



Scythe will place all of the talismans into one of the dimensional pockets attached, then return to the headquarters after being gone for several hours (4-6 depending, unless serious interruptions) and head to his room first with his energy spheres.

When he returns to his room, he will expend the entirety of one sphere, and 80 of the other, to create a long-term Dimensional Envelope in his personal bedchambers. Once that is complete, he will use the sphere to graft a Mystic Alarm on his room (5PPE) and attune his Eviscerator to him and keep the remaining 185 Energy Sphere with him until he uses it or it expires in 3 days.

Once all of this is completed, he will head to The Wrong Ship and track down every member of the team and gather them together, handing out a quartet of talismans to them. "Listen up, I am not fond of repeating myself. This talisman, when activated, will form a magical barrier of protection around you. Consider it a last resort, as it is not as powerful as a heavy force field but can save your life in emergencies. This one will allow you to breathe without air, should we encounter a hull breach or a vacuum we must traverse; coupled with the first one, even the cosmic radiation won't kill you for the duration. Thirdly, this talisman will, when activated, turn you invisible. It is a simple invisibility meant to fool standard sight or technological sensors. Finally, this is a Lightblade Talisman. You can use it as a hilt to call forth a energy blade of magical origin. This should be used as a last resort, but can be used to breach most supernatural defenses. You can use each one three times, use them sparingly. When the charges expire, let me know and I will recharge them. Questions?"
