"If it has mass, or a physical form, yes."
Solaris gives the Phase Demon a try, first with Gravity Manipulation, then if that fails, with Force Manipulation, trying to pin it to the floor. Regardless of her success or failure, she mentions the results to Holt with a clipped, clear tone and reloads her rifle.

"What can hurt a Phase Demon, Holt?", Lisa asks, slinging her rifle and firing her Control the Void blasts in rapid succession. Maybe my Phase Pistol? Solaris thinks, yanking the weapon from it's magnetic clamp.

"Holt, what are the chances you can get us closer to our objective and just bypass this crap? One big push and I think we can break through. We don't need to fight everything, just get to the controls, right?"

Lisa looks to Metri, who seems to be distracted. "Master Metri, your great skills are much needed!", she urges.

The Promethean Time Master finds it odd that he could not move a simple object from one place to another- a task that neophyte Prometheans can do. He glances curiously at the now decimated being, before training his weapon on a different target, turns his focus inward and activates: Spatial Distortion: Self [15] to test a hypothesis.

The Brek-Shal wastes no time and charges across the room, it's rage filled roar like a runaway freight train of pain, an aura of red energy pouring out of it's red skin, it's eyes like flames. The team tries to steel itself against the demonic creature, but Bryke's mind is unable to process the demonic fury, nor is Solaris. (Failed Horror Factor: Bryke & Solaris.) Bryke being the biggest being in the room that's not a demon receives the Brek-shal's rage in the form of a mighty punch. Though the Invincible armor Metri placed holds against the blow. Solaris is at a loss of how to battle such monstrosities, as much so as Bryke. The Phase Demon swivels its cyclopian head back and forth for a moment before settling it's gaze on Holt, pointing a gnarled crooked finger at the Retired CAF Officer. At first it seems nothing has happened, until Holt notices a warning light, Holt's Phase Field has been shutdown somehow. (Anti-Phase) Holt takes it in stride and moves positions and swaps clips in his rifle. Tis channels a small portion of her power into her armor, increasing her Agility. The Shedim charge forward and take up positions near Tis, Solaris and Metri. The Shedim are barely making it known that they are shock troopers in demonic armies, Metri only has to side step a single blow that clumsily neared him while the others couldn't have hit children if they tried. Metri hearing Holt's plea, backflips and tumbles towards the Manar. Once near, Metri Casts the spell of protection on Holt. (Enjoy Invincible Armor)

Solaris concentrates gravity upon the Phase Demon, It bows a little under the manipulation. Bryke concentrates his Phase powers and distorts space around himself, The Brek-Shal seemed to be waiting for this and swings on the Promethean Time Master. Hitting Bryke with another energy shrouded blow. The Phase demon seems to grin, and then is suddenly across the room and behind Solaris and Tis. Holt fires a burst at the Shedim nearest Tis and puches a trio of holes through it's torso and head. The Shedim seems stunned and suddenly slumps over dead. Tis quickly uses the opportunity to channel another spell, this one through her sword, which blinds two of the three remaining Shedim. The Shedim claw at the trio they're near, One misses horribly, Tis sidesteps the one that nears her and the third hits a Shedim.

Solaris tries another tactic and tries manipulating force to keep the Phase demon in place. She manipulates the energy and causes the Phase Demon to float in the air. Bryke blasts at the Brek-Shal who's rage filled face is all one needs to see that he could care less about being shot, as it punches Bryke again. The Phase demon continues to creepily seem amused, it's single bloodshot eye staring straight at Solaris. Suddenly there are five Phase Demons floating almost serenely around the room, they each seem to be mimicking the other. Holt fires another burst and topples another Shedim. Tis tries her Blinding Flash spell on the Brek-Shal, but he either is immune or just shrugged it off. The remaining two Shedim claw at Tis and Solaris, both manage to land blows.

Solaris reloads her rifle, knowing that may be the most useful thing at the moment. Bryke and the Brek-Shal trade blows and laser blasts. All five of the Phase Demons settle to the ground, menacing grin across it's face. Holt fires another burst which leaves a third Shedim bleeding on the ground. Tis tries to Magic net the Brek-Shal, but it surprisingly side steps the green sticky net. The last Shedim swings at Solaris and misses.

Solaris considers her many targets and fires, eliciting a pained reaction from the Phase Demon. Bryke and the Brek-Shal continue to trade damage, though somehow Bryke manages to miss. The Phase Demon screeches and a beam of warped reality issues forth from it's single baleful eye. but it somehow manages to miss Solaris. Holt fires on the final Shedim, but only manages to wound this one. Tis Tries to ensnare the Brek-Shal once more, and against all odds it ducks the net. The Shedim tries to claw at Solaris, but somehow loses it's balance and falls over.

Solaris blasts at the phase demon, again eliciting a screech of pain. Bryke and the Brek-Shal trade blows once more and again Bryke misses the enraged demon. Holt puts the final Shedim out of it's misery with a well placed burst to the back. Tis throws a Power Bolt at the Brek-Shal, it seems to not even notice. Solaris finds that her next two blast do nothing to the Phase Demon, the energies just washing over him. Holt and Tis continue to hammer Power Bolts and Laser shots at the Brek-Shal.

All that remains are the Phase Demon and the Brek-Shal.

Holt switches out clips and <<Pops>> to the far (Western(?)) side of the room so he can begin firing on the 2 remaining targets from behind, "4 Shedim down. Shifting to assist Bryke." Then, the Officer unleashes a full clip into the back of the Brek-Shall, peppering it with a torrent of pulse-blasts (until it drops) ... if that happens, Holt will switch from his Rifle back to his Sword, and waits to teleport behind the Phase-Cyclops as his last attack of the round.

The Manarr will Teleport-Dodge across the room (to the SE Corner, etc) if an attacker moves within Melee range, then fire on that attacker from his new perch.

And to think, for a second it looked like we were evening the odds. Probably an illusion though., Lisa thinks at the sight of now multiple Phase Demons. "Come on!", Solaris shouts at the Phase Demon, trying to fight down her fear.

She starts by attempting to lock down the Phase Demon with Gravity Control, grunting slightly with the effort it demands. If I can at least hamper it, that's enough., she thinks, knowing that this enemy can apparently teleport or shift out of the area. I don't have to make it easy. Focusing on IR vision, she attempts to see which Demon is the real one and hopes it isn't all of them.

Solaris then alternates between firing her phase pistol and blasting star blasts at the demon, hoping that the Brek Shall will be finished quickly. If she's engaged in melee, she alternates between point-blank phase pistol blasts and one of her energy blades.

Bryke attempts to draw the Brek-Shall's attention elsewhere and flank it. Tis tries to make some improvements to the situation by throwing another Magic Net at the enraged Brek-Shal, somehow the beast dodges the spell. The Brek-Shal continues trying to pound on Bryke, which Bryke promptly parries with a forearm. Solaris worried about the numerous Phase Demons decides to drop a generalized area of heavy gravity, catching two of them in it without hitting any of her current companions, neither of them seem affected by it. Holt reloads his rifle while moving across the way preparing to put some shots into the Brek-Shal. Bryke shifts positions, trying to maneuver the enraged demon to more attacks from his companions. The Phase demon screeches and looks at each being in the room.

Tis tries once more to catch the demon in a Magic Net, and wraps him in the gooey green strands of entanglement. The Brek-Shal continues to rage and tries to tear free. Solaris extrapolates from the four targets and shoots her Phase Pistol at him, the Phase Demon screeches in pain. Holt begins to fire with impunity into the Brek-Shal's broad back. Bryke follows suit firing point-blank at the creature, it roars in pain and frustration. The Phase Demon almost seems to sigh before it and the three images cease to be. The Brek-Shal is made short work of by the combined firepower of the group.

The station is eerily silent after the fight, the demon corpses start disintegrating as is common of their kind. The whole area still cries out as a abattoir of violence.

What are your intentions?

Holt burns the balance of his 3rd clip to drop the Brek Shall and switches clips out as he turns to find the Phase Demon gone, "Form up at the Control Room door. He'll probably be back with reinforcements. Metri??? I want the biggest 2 more Protective Circles, the biggest you can make right-outside the Control Room, and one inside once we have it secured. I will open a quick visual-portal into the Control Room once Metri has his first Circle up."

The Manarr <<Pops>> to the Doors on the West, North, and East sides of the room to confirm they can in fact be locked. The Manarr will open a Doorway (rather than the door itself) in case the thing is booby-trapped in order to allow the team to look/rush in on any opponents presently located (trapped (?)) in there.

Solaris goes from a combat stance to a more relaxed one as the realization that the immediate danger is, apparently, over. She drops the clip out of her Phase Pistol, slaps in a fresh one and with a fluid motion transitions from her pistol back to her rifle. Smooth is fast., she recalls being drilled endlessly and the words of her instructors.

At Holt's orders she takes up a position at the door, rifle at the ready, pointed where she's looking. She checks that someone has taken up rear security. From the sounds of it, that will be Metri.
When ready, she signals such by squeezing the arm of whoever is in front of her. "Three sixty coverage, people. Remember, move fast, suddenly and hard. Don't give them a chance."

3 minutes passed

Holt gives some orders, to which everyone seems to have no objections to. Metri moves to make magic circles, showing Bryke the simplicity of carving a circle in the ground, though the metal plating on the ground makes it slightly more difficult. Holt and Solaris quickly check the doors and post up near the control room entrance, which the Phase Demon and Brek-Shal had emerged. Holt notes the security in this place is awful, none of these interior doors lock as far as he can tell, all having a simple touch panel for opening and closing. Holt opens a little doorway trough the door into the Control room and is confident to say he doesn't see any demons. Holt makes a quick trip to one of his hidden holes, to retrieve a sword for Bryke. While there he hears all manner of hell going on outside, but doesn't have time to deal with all the worlds problems and pops back.

Holt opens a larger Doorway into the room. Inside is all the computers one would suspect a substation for the Gate System to have, which translates to a lot of them. All in all the room looks relatively unharmed, a few broken monitors that seem to correspond to dead bodies lying on the ground. The monitors that are working are filled with red-lined gauges and error messages.

What are your intentions?

The Datapad details the technical aspect of what the team has been tasked to do, disable the power safeguards and open the dials to critical levels. if done properly their resultant power surge will short out the system. Unless the Gates have not been sabotaged, then the hardwired safeties in the Gates themselves will regulate the flow.

With 2 Protective Circles in place [1 outside Control, & 1 inside Control], Holt pulls out the Datapad with the instructions on how to overload power to the Gates, and finds the most optimal location in the room to (i.e. with the most cover) that can handle the process. Tapping his radio first, he chirps at the Gates team, "Kesslan?? Prothor?? This is Power Distribution, ready for a countdown. Are you ready out there??"

If he gets no response, Holt will pull out his mystic communicator thing, "Adava, Adava ... This is the Power Distribution Team. Morta? Doodles? Have you guys heard from the Gates? Are they Ready??" Holt looks at the situation, while activating the talisman that Thraxus gave him. "Advised. Hold position... Gates have proven difficult to sabotage, will update when countdown is needed." Comes the voice of Thraxus over the medallion. Holt cross references the datapad to the information on the screen and sees an immediate problem. Something is broken and needs fixed before the system can be properly manipulated.

Solaris keeps a watchful eye on the situation. Her mind wanders to two bits of information. The first is why this place even though it seems so minor as things go. And where did the crew go, by her guesstimate two to three people are needed to run the place. Bryke seems competent enough to watch the door, so Solaris feels if she wanter to investigate the other rooms she could.

[color=red](OOC: Holt or anyone who wants to fix the system, 3 Basic Electronics or 1 Electrical engineer roll required.
I will update further, as this is a really short post. I hope Tis and Bryke will post this time around. Next full GM Post will be next Monday. ~Consumer)

Unable to push the doubts out of her mind, Solaris finally blurts out at Holt, "Permission to snoop around, sir."
If necessary, she'll explain her concerns, namely the location of the crew, and why this seemingly minor place is so heavily guarded by enemy troops.

Something ain't right...but the ground feels right so I guess I don't have to blast it. She glances down at the ground, just to make sure. Yep, good 'ol Center Firma right there.

If Holt grants her permission to look around, she'll try to stay quiet, a bit away from the walls as she sneaks room by room to listen with her amplified hearing. If she hears something threatening, she backs off. But if she hears something potentially friendly, she investigates further. ((Prowl 1d100:

If possible, Lisa will also try to find a free terminal and hack it ((Computer Hacking 1d100:

Mini-Update

Holt begins to look for the issue and sees that several parts have been removed. With his knowledge of Basic Mechanics, Holt begins the process of putting the parts back together. While working Holt makes another message to Thraxus. "Not necessary, they've been given assistance and should be completing operations soon, continue with your work, Thraxus out." Holt then answers a question for Solaris.

Solaris getting her answer, moves away from the control room and heads to one of the side rooms. Solaris does find it hard to head through the relatively thick metal doors, though she is almost certain she hears something beyond the northern door. Carefully Solaris opens the door and is greeted to a disgusting sight. it looks as though the Shedim who were previously in this room had been interrupted from a meal of one of the workers, another three lay tied up in the corner. (2 women and a man, all human). The prisoners look scared at the sight of Solaris, which is not too surprising considering the circumstances.

Lisa turns her head away and taps her helmet radio on. "Holt, it looks like I've found survivors.", she says and hurries to the three tied up victims.

"You're okay. I'm Co-" she stops to correct herself, "Former Commander Lisa Solaris. I'm here to help."
Lisa carefully uses her energy gauntlet blades to free the trio. "I think that there might be weapons left in the main room.", she says, referring to the weapons she snatched from enemy grunts earlier. "See if you can grab one and follow me. Stay clear of the walls."

She leads the trio to Holt and the others, keeping her ears open for any threats. Hate to break protocol like this but we might not have much choice. The smart thing to do would be to keep control of these three until we can verify their I.D.s

Holt cocks an eyebrow at the message from Thraxus as he finishes up the reboot and re-configure process, **Ok well then, we'll just sit here and wait ... **

At Lisa's transmission he smiles, "How many? ... Ok well walk them back. If they can cross the Protective Circles, that will at least tell us they probably aren't demons."

If/when Lisa brings the rescues back Holt offers a greeting, "Hello, what are your names? Are you employed down here at the Power Station? Is there a lockdown procedure we can implement? Do you have any communications lines to the outside? ... "

While Bryke has been guarding the doorway he notices that his senses are becoming heightened which drives him to explore what his next move will be:

He and a group of travelers were holed up in a place that turned out to be a lair of some cunning beast he still does not know the name of. It ended up taking the lives of three of the four that traveled with him. Bryke and one other managed to escape the lair but the Time Master suspected through the escape and interaction with the other survivor that something wasn't quite right. Bryke felt the traveler sacrificed team members to save its own skin, but learned late. In the end the two mortally wounded the creature and got away with their lives, but during the final stages of the fight, Bryke felt something gnawing at the back of his consciousness. Something elusive and out of reach which had him on edge.
That same gnawing at the back of his mind has come upon him now.

The Time Master eyes the human rescues with raptor like suspicion, and uses the natural telepathic abilities of his race on each of them, to glean any information that could be of use.
"Who are you, and how did you come to this place?"

After probing their minds and watching their reaction(s) coming past the circle, the Time Master looks behind them, keeping close watch on the station, appointed him.

"I have three survivors.", Lisa replies to Holt, adding more quietly, "They may need counselling after what they've seen."

She turns to the trio, "Okay, try to keep quiet. Does anyone need medical attention? Are you all right to move?" As long as everyone is good to go, she leads them to the room where Holt and the rest of the team is holed up.

If the four of them reach the room unhindered, Lisa announces, "Four coming in!", before entering. Never wrong to not be shot by friendlies.
If any of the survivors needs help to move, she can use Force Manipulation or Gravity Manipulation to move them gently along.

Rather than let everyone bombard the survivors with questions, Solaris subtly indicates to let Holt do the questioning with a tilt of her head and a nod. If we want to interrogate them, they should really be split up.

Three Card Monte

Holt and Tis work diligently to repair the damage so that their sabotage will be successful. The damage wasn't so severe that some basic bypasses couldn't fix the issue quickly. Holt notes the error messages have reduced considerably, at least enough to make this mission work. Tis with her Telemechanics can sense that the sabotage here was deliberate.

Solaris unties the the three prisoners which gets a unusual response as the three of them begin saying each is a shape changer. Bryke tries to get a mental image on them, but finds the whole thing mildly confusing. One of the woman is scared of the other two, while the other woman is frightened of the man. The man seems concerned about the women being evil. After some effort effort Solaris is able to get them to calm down. They agree to follow Solaris to meet with Holt, but stop short of the circle. They begin arguing once again before one of the women and the male both sigh in exacerbation and disappear with a pop. The lone woman left looks scared and confused. "They were both shape changers? They were my co-workers, or were they..." The woman seems to be having a bit of a mental breakdown at the situation and slumps down on the floor to cry.

What are your Intentions?

Agh, I should've known they'd be...something. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is., Solaris thinks pragmatically, slinging her rifle and pulling out her GR pistol. If this woman isn't who or what she says, she won't live long enough to regret it.

"You heard the man. Move it.", Solaris says, sternly, wrenching the remaining woman off the floor to move her across the first protection circle and into the room. If nothing unusual happens, Lisa says with a slightly softer tone, "Listen, if you work here, we need your help. I'm sorry for what you've been through."

If the woman can't or won't cross the circle or someone gives an indication she's not what or who she claims, Solaris will immediately put a point-blank round in her head.

Tis continues to assist Holt as necessary. "The damage here was the result of sabotage." Tis blandly states what has likely become obvious. If she is not needed for the computer then she turns her attention to the woman survivor. The chances of her being compromised are too great. Unfortunately, the best course of action may be a merciful execution. Tis prepares to Power Bolt the woman in the head if she balks at crossing the circle.

And pop goes the weasel

With threats against her life the woman does as she is told and moves across the line of the circle of protection, proving at the very least that she isn't a lesser demon/deevil. When asked how to lock the place down, the only thing she really can offer is that the main entrance can be locked, but doesn't she know the passwords as they're hasn't been a reason to lock down the building in all of the time she's worked there coupled with the fact she's a junior member of the team.
Though Holt knows that once the team is done sabotaging the system, it won't matter, the system will be down until the Prometheans fix it, phase tech being what it is.

"Throw the switch." Comes ringing over the amulet.

Hitting the button results in a wump noise from one of the side rooms and the lights flickering for a second, then silence. all in all very underwhelming. The monitors show system failures across the board as Gateland begins a safety shutdown.

"Is that it? I kinda expected a ticker tape parade.", Lisa comments sarcastically.
Seriously, we did our bit and all, but if that's it, we'd better book it.

"Should we hold this position? Is there a way to lock the controls out?", she asks, thinking about the other team. Do they need our help?

Tis looks at the machinery, then at Solaris, then back at the machines. She reachs out with her mind to verify they have in fact been succesful.

Bryke double checks on the room where the "hostages" were held, to see if there is anything of note, or use. The Promethean then speaks up to the group in conjunction with Lisa/Solaris, but moreso to Holt, "I agree with her, If we can give what we have done here a little more permanence, we should be able to re-enter the fight topside."

The Time Master begins work on a circle that encloses the controls, in hopes that should they leave, none can come behind them and undo what they have undone.

"Can any of you tech-types make certain that what we have done here lasts even after we are gone- if that is what we are doing?"

He then looks over all the bodies and carnage and gathers any weapons, credsticks, radios, etc. and places them in a dimensional pocket if possible: Dimensional Pocket [20 temporary, 140 permanent]

OOC: I am not sure what happens to demons when they die, if they disappear, etc. I am assuming they are just laying around dead.

Holt listens to the forced shut-down as things go wonky with a whimper instead of a bang, and turns to nod at Solaris, "I thought we'd get more bang for our creds too, but no dice ... Oh well hold the fort here for a second." The Manarr turns for a moment and looks at the 'rescuee', "You, what's your name?"

Regardless of the name provided, Holt nods and gently places a hand on her shoulder, "Ok ________, I'll drop you safe. Center Security should be the best we can really do to avoid the demon-siege out there ..." With that he >>POPS<< her over to North of the Ramp from Center Level 1 to Center Level 2 [Room D] musing, **If she can't get here, then she's just a demon or devil in disguise and Thraxus' little anti-demon-toy will incinerate her.** Assuming a safe landing, Holt holds up his hands non-threateningly so he doesn't freak the Defenders out and says, "Dropping 1 Rescued. You guys holding steady here?"

If there is no pitched battle ongoing, Holt >>Pops<< back to the Power Distribution Center, "I don't think what we did is easily reversible. Let's go ahead and return to the others ... I think I can land us in a Center Security Briefing Room ... Tis, Solaris, Metri, grab hold. Bryke ... You able to get back?"
