Well I can see that. Wi-Fi smooshed how many elves? and that shield and electrocute the occupant trick was neat but certainly an evil tactic. I have to admit I do like trying new strats and tricks with the aura and psychic abilities. Should the the team of evil survive I wouldn't mind a revisit to "mirror Omega" universe. Mirror Brute, Mirror Empire and mirror Agent Steele would be interesting additions.

I can see steel working as an underworld or super villain version of Fixer Jones. Mirror Brute would be a bit different but like Wi-Fi still have that sense of loyalty and reliability, it seems to be what both share in common. Mirror Empire could easily be able to be a powered up merc with a much more weapons orientated suit like the Warmachine suit. instead of neat and precise lasers something about conventional heavy weapons and variable types of ammo would make the Baron a lot scarier. Hell maybe even visit Sark's home universe/reality at some point. perhaps the universe the evil omega's are in is his home universe?

I could get into a game like that. Just can't imagine a would be hero looking to Wi-Fi to learn from. She is not the most how shall we say? Maternal type of person..Then again neither is Bats..and she and Bats have a lot more in common than I intended to...:(

Think I have a method..might be interesting...but with future there..a little good cop/Bad cop might help encourage a little rapport.. Planning part is not a as thorough...but Omegas are rarely planning ahead anyway...loL!

PEACE METHOD

In England, police generally use a less confrontational interview and interrogation method than is used in the United States. The method is called Preparation and Planning, Engage and Explain, Account, Closure and Evaluate (PEACE). Under the PEACE method, investigators allow a suspect to tell his or her story without interruption, before presenting the suspect with any inconsistencies or contradictions between the story and other evidence. Investigators are prohibited from deceiving suspects during an interview (Meissner et al., 11).

The following information on the steps to the PEACE method is drawn from Authorised Professional Practice (APP), a national body of guidance on policing in the United Kingdom. For more detailed information, see their website.

1. Preparation and Planning. Interviewers should create a written interview plan, focusing on issues such as the objectives of the interview and the order of interviews. Among other things, the plan should include the time a suspect has been in custody, the topics to be covered, and points necessary to prove the offense or provide a defense. Interviewers should consider characteristics of the interviewee that could be relevant to the plan (e.g., cultural background could affect how someone prefers to be addressed). Interviewers may need to consider practical arrangements, such as visiting the scene or the location of the interview.

2. Engage and Explain. The interviewers should engage the individual, including using active listening to establish a rapport with him or her. The interviewers should explain the reasons for the interview and its objectives. They should also explain routines and expectations of the process (e.g., explaining that the interviewers will take notes). Interviewers should encourage the individual to state anything they believe is relevant.

3. Account. The interviewers should use appropriate questions and active listening to obtain the interviewee's account of events. Questions should be short and free of jargon, and can help to clarify and expand the account. Multi-part questions should generally be avoided due to possible confusion, and leading questions should be used only as a last resort.

4. Closure. This stage should be planned to avoid an abrupt end to the interview. Among other things, the interviewers should summarize the person's account of events, allowing the person to make clarifications and ask questions.

5. Evaluate. The interviewers should evaluate the interview to (a) assess how the interviewee's account fits with the investigation as a whole, (b) determine if further action is needed, and (c) reflect on their performance.

Based on the date of this OOC post (8-6-17) ... That suggests to me that .. perhaps there is a new GM post / update , that is not yet populating / showing up for others (such as myself).

Last GM update I see in "Post subject: Re: Bravo: On Board the Ultra Jet - Who Wants to Party?" , was on 7-25-17 .. which has Responses from (in order) DARYL , Spiderweb , WiFi , Faraday.

Ya, but I want to hear him lie...it reveal a few things the direct line to the truth would miss. That is why I wanted Spider along. That truth be told I am also curious about the ultras so I can see how they react. that initial fear of the Future is something that catches my eye. But I can speed it up and if we get too dragged out. but thanks for the reminder about Telepathy cost and the bit I missed about empathy and see invis...:)

I've had my eye on that one for a while, so I wasn't disappointed at all with ending up with it from my rolls. Defensive Will wasn't really on my list previously but I don't dislike it at all. And obviously Speed Tasking is amazing. I think next for Faraday is Multi-Tasking but it might be a while before Faraday gets another dose of EP.

But for a low down schemer up to no good like Faraday/Stig ... Criminal Intuition is amazing.

100% agree about potential amazing-ness of Speed Tasking , Multi-Tasking, and Criminal Intuition.

I'll have to make due with DARYL just using Criminal Science and Forensic Skills for a little while though before I can save up EP and such , to be able to add the Criminal Intuition power to augment his skills .. no biggie .. I'm kind of enjoying the continuity of RPing his slow manifestation of my last EP purchases for DARYL , and that will take a good bit of IC time to complete .. about 17+ IC days depending on IC events , over that period .. soo .. probably by the time that's done IC , I'll then have enough EP again to consider what I might want to work on next.

Character growth is a good thing, if they ever do a version 3 of HU, they should include a mechanism to allow characters to add powers.

HU2 only has a little of that now .. such as the 'powers grow with age/experience' under the mutant section.
A more robust / wide spread inclusion would be nice .. if / when they do v3.

Or .. perhaps .. another approach .. that could give a similar IC effect .. players and GMs just agree .. to start off a PC deliberately weaker , and then over time , they grow into / develop more of their powers .. I once played a HU game were the premise was like that .. all the PCs started off as 100% normal humans .. than slowly little by little the 'full' super powers developed .. a sonic speed character didn't just go from normal to 600+MPH in one day .. it was 20MPH .. than 40 .. than 60 .. etc .. and while that progress was happening there were adventures , RPing , plots , etc.

The ability to upgrade your powers to other, more powerful, related powers is one thing I would do. Say the character would start with a power of "special effect" level that doubles their strength or speed, then as they mature they get to pick which power increases with every level. Strength might grow first to Extraordinary, then increase to Superhuman, before maturing to Supernatural.

Although I don't recall such being specifically described in the books as such .. As far as I know .. there is nothing in the rules that specifically prevents/prohibits such either.

At least , not from the 'flavor' application point of view of the PC ending up with the same powers in the end .. ie a PC that got Supernatural Strength as a power , could manifest slowly in IC over the course of multiple adventures / levels .. in a IC progression similar to what you described .. same such for other powers/abilities too.

I recall the marvel game doing something like this. It would make sense for a fire expulsion to develop into a full APS fire or Magma. Wi-Fi getting force aura would be a further development of TK..

The original Marvel system let you learn power stunts...and even use them before you learned them though with difficulty. Not a bad option.

You could also spend their version of experience points, Karma, on skill and power acquisition. Karma were awarded in dribs and drabs, though, and the price for a new power was high, so, functionally (at least in my games) it never happened.

I think the reasoning for karma cost on powers was to prevent power creeping. That said we have EP's and adding a stunt system could be done. The stunts and abilities added would need to be related to the characters powers. for instance a force-field creating power that develops energy expulsion would get force-field like projected beams.

I could work them even further to create bridges or other tricks akin to lanterns in the DC universe like claws, bear traps and assault helicopters (Yes I play DCUO). that means at some point a GM will need to say no to a power stunt based on the logic it is not based in that power.

That was roughly what I was thinking. You can only use stunts that are related, with the GM having final say as to what is related.

Actually, there is a recent game called Icons that is quite similar to the old Marvel system, with the notable difference that all rolls are made using a d6 rather than a d10.

When that finishes, I was considering if Daryl should 'speed-task' his talking ? :lol:
Basically just talking 2x faster than normal , but all the time.

Sorry , I was not aware of the new site house rule change for perception rolls .. I'll work on recalculating Brennet's based on the new d100 % based instead of previous d20 based.

For the right EP cost, you may now upgrade your character to a Mega-Hero. You can even EP purchase Mega-Powers! The costs for that are located in the Explorer Points menu and the updated Mega Powers lists and tables are located in the Character Generation Add On.
