Sentinel wrote:”Mr. Brute, I thought we were not on first name basis in the field?” Sentinel says with amusement at Mr. Jacksons slip up. ”Nonetheless it sounds like an adequate plan since we don’t know anymore until we are inside. You look a little bruised. Here let me help you.” Sentinel offers aid to Brute.

Tom chuckles slightly. "Yeah, my bad on that one too earlier. Didn't need code names while out in the field during my last gig." Seems I got a little too comfortable back there. Maybe the merc life suited me more than I thought? He shrugs off the thought as the group focuses in on entering the building.

Sentinel wrote:As they move into the building Sentinel introduces himself to those he hasn’t met. "Perhaps this isn’t the best of time to make your acquaintance. I am Sentinel." He says thinking for a moment of the news broadcast they will most definitely hear about, ”You may also address me as Emperor Zheng.” Zheng says matter of factly.

"Pleesedtameecha, Your Majesty..." Tom half nods, half bows (He's a little unsure on which way to go as he's never met royalty before. Royal PAINS, on the other hand...). "Name's Rampart -- at least, it is while we're in the field of course." He adds with a grin. Man, he's just like one of those terracotta statues I saw at the museum once. I wonder if they all were supposed to wind up like him. Figures that an emperor would be the prototype. "Anyway, we can play 'get-to-know-you' later. Let's go beat up bad guys."

He takes up position and enters with the others... and is not happy with what he sees. One would expect a 'front' building to not have much in the way of activity, of course, but this place was even more deserted (and for a lot longer) than he was expecting. "This clearly isn't the main entrance..." he mutters under his breath to no one in particular. "I don't think it's even the secondary one."

Spiderweb wrote:"I can see perfectly well in the dark, and I know some others can handle darkness well. Perhaps we should lead off a bit in front, your lights are going to attract attention...well until the emergency lighting comes on..."

"I used to could..." Tom mutters as he looks around, trying to spot anything that seems shady/out of place or could otherwise yield any clues as to what to expect. Didn't think I'd miss my old armor this much this soon. Wonder how long it's gonna take the feds to study it?

Wi-Fi wrote:"I don't buy him not installing back up power."

Agreed. This smells like a set-up."

"Okay team... You heard the lady. Be careful. Fan out in pairs and search. Call out if you see anything. Wi-Fi, you're with me."

"Agreed," Tom nods. "This mousetrap is stinking of cheese. Real stinky cheese. And not the good kind of real stinky cheese either." He reaches down to his utility belt to grab a flashlight, only to realize he doesn't have one. Reasons why I miss my armor, plus one... he grimaces. Note to self, check to see if they have any spare flashlights at HQ. a flash of light catches his attention, and he looks down to find one of Wi-Fi's spider bots looking back up at him. "Okay, little fella..." he chuckles. "Come along. Stay close and get behind me if things go sour, okay? Your mom would kill me if I let you get hurt."

He looks around to Moya, Rook, and Sentinel with a grin as he gestures down at the spider bot. "Okay, battle buddy time. Who wants to be our battle buddy?"

Whoever pairs up with him (if anyone... or everyone...), he moves off to any other obvious access points to the building that Brute isn't already inspecting or really anything that looks particularly 'out of place' in an abandoned office building. He tries to be as stealthy as possible while he's looking for... well, he's pretty sure he'll know what he's looking for once he finds it (hopefully helped by the fact he's gliding on a flight disc a couple inches off the floor). Just because you know it's a trap doesn't mean you have to go blowing in trying to set it off on purpose.

Let's Split Up and Look for Clues, Gang...
Prowl -- 1d100 = 3/55% (because STEALTH MODE!)

Streetwise -- 1d100 = 66/45% (looking for any likely weapons/contraband caches, particularly dangerous spots within the building, etc.)
Streetwise -- 1d100 = 100/45% (2nd attempt)
Surveillance Systems -- 1d100 = 97/80% (looking for any surveillance systems that may be active despite the power being 'out,' identifying spots where someone would observe without being easily seen, etc.)

Moya listens to everyone's perspective on the situation. She then begins to look around. Looking for anything out of place for an office building. Allowing for her eyes to adjust to the low lighting. Her arms and hands ready to draw her bow if need be.

It sure does feel like a trap and it looks like we're are already in the kill zone. Hope these guys can handle themselves.

Rampart wrote:He looks around to Moya, Rook, and Sentinel with a grin as he gestures down at the spider bot. "Okay, battle buddy time. Who wants to be our battle buddy?"

"Sure I'll be your buddy. Besides what do they say: Two is better than one. I'll lead the way and check for any booby traps or what not. If things get too hairy then just duck behind me. I'll protect ya."

Moya answers with a bit of a sarcastic attitude in her voice. Followed my a half smile. Slowly she stats to the right in a counterclockwise direction. Checking for any well placed or even fairly visible traps or alarms.

Rook has similar thoughts to Brute, feeling very much like this is some sort of trap; a brief nod to the team leader to show her agreement. "Far, far too quiet." she murmurs as she peers through the darkness as best she can. Keeping her wings tucked close, the young mutant looks to the others as pairs start to form, then smiles a little to Sentinel.

"Looks like its you and I then; how are you at seeing in the dark like this? I could honestly use some light or enhanced vision." Rook comments. Fortunately, having a spider bot along to provide some light will be useful, and appreciated. If it seem plausible that it will fit, she'll set the spiderbot on her shoulder to use as a proper flashlight, otherwise she'll just let it move along beside her.

Not being the stealthiest of people, Rook will let Sentinel go first if it seems like that is something he is good at, otherwise she'll just take the lead herself, moving away from the rest of the group cautiously while being on the look-out for something she could use as a melee weapon. "Are we sure we have the right place? All the dust, the cobwebs.. no one has been through here in years likely." the mutant will inquire over their comms, keeping her voice low.

WAINGROH
Date: Monday, March 23rd, 2043
Weather: Outside: Sunny, warm, bright (55 degrees Fahrenheit)
Time: 11:05-11:15 am

Spiderweb, Brute and Wi-Fi:
Spiderweb, Brute and Wi-Fi all head to the left. Aided by Wi-Fi's spiderbot light, Brute's preternatural senses and Spiderweb's dark vision, their search ends well. Brute's antenna pick up the distinct scents of steak. And a hint of sulfur? The breeze bringing these smells to him is easily traceable to a kitchen in the corner. However, when the search party arrives there, he sees no steak, no source of sulfur. Yet the scent remains. It's gotta be coming from somewhere... There's a fridge, a pot of coffee that radiates heat, two tables and a sink.

Rampart and Thunder:
Tom and Moya take their turns clearing each of the offices against the wall and searching for clues. Tom looks around for any clues that they might be walking into a trap and he finds nothing. Looking through office work that reminds Tom of his days back on the force. Seems like Enertron Inc had a lot of forms to fill out in order to do, well... anything. One desk still has the chewing gum underneath.

In the last office, they find the vending machines. The machines are full but the power is out making the products inaccessible. Directly outside is the water cooler, which is still full.

Sentinel and Rook:
Sentinel and Rook were ordered to check out the center as the other two groups were assigned left and right. They seem confused and just stand there. Their assigned spiderbot skitters back and forth between them.

Rook finds the spider seemingly happy be carried. Since the sentinel incident at the party, the bots have adjusted to being lifted. Wi-Fi seeing they would likely need to be carried by others made the bots security protocols include her teammates picking them up. The small bot checked the wings to clamp on them with the magnetic feet as she moved about.

The small bot followed keeping pace easily and sticking close to the pair. Occasionally moving from Tom to Moya and back to Tom it looked at what they were looking at.

Spiderweb, Brute and Wi-Fi:

"Brute, your senses picking up anything?" Coffee..someone is or was here. two tables and a sink..this likely a mess hall of sort or workspace for more grizzly types of science and torture. Wi-Fi wonders if it is actively used by visitors or Ironvien himself. The enemy roster did have several types that likely did not need to eat. Ironvien himself could well be a meta without the need to eat. She looks for any odd or otherwise metahuman signs as well.

the spider bot was near just behind/between Brute and Wi-Fi sweeping its light front of the pair.

"Brute, you take me to all the nice places. Have I said that lately?" she adds, "A quick way in or out does make sense and warm coffee is a sign.." she looks for anything of note. like at a dnd game it made sense a door left signs like paths the door opened at or were spots that were clean or smoothed from use. One of the cameras showed a lab or butchery-like area. "Wonder if this is it?" she asks out loud.

(Rolls carried over)

Barney says, attempting logical thought, "The coffee Maker should have kept the coffee in it warm until the power went out. The question is, is the coffee in any cups or the steak still warm, those would be a more accurate estimater."

He adds to himself, In the other hand, a break room would be a good place to hide a secret door, nothing would seem strange about seeing someone going there at any time of the day.

He suggests, "Brute, if there is a hidden entrance it may possibly be a different temperature than the rest of the walls, look for that."

Often a lab area is kept cooler than an office area.

Re: OMEGAS: Down In It

Postby Rook » Sun Jun 16, 2019 3:29 pm

Location: Office building, suspected Ironvein base/hideout
Conditions: Carrying spider-bot

Perception: 27% on d100 = 1d100 = 24
JIC D20 = 1d20 = 20
JIC D100 = 1d100 = 92

Rook watches as the others move off, then takes up the spider-bot and moves further into the creepy, seemingly abandoned building; the young woman is careful in her foot-steps, doing her best not to disturb items on the floor that might give away position or that might seem like they could be traps of some sort (OOC: laymans opinion on traps). As she and Sentinel move down the aisle between the cubicles, she glances into each one briefly to see if there is someone hidden there, or perhaps some sort of hint about what might be going on; however with the time-constraints she doesn't spend too much time on each cubical (15-20 seconds, give or take) unless something important happens.

(OOC: Will actively use perception, will post rolls at end)

Assuming the cubicles along the two center aisles are devoid of people and/or threats, Rook will activate her own radio to contact the others. "Everything seems clear in the central area so far, no signs of life." the winged mutant explains in a low tone. "Just a lot of empty cubicles."

Of course, if things are NOT clear, she will radio in an appropriate response.

Perception rolls, if applicable: All are at 27%
1d100 = 3
1d100 = 93
1d100 = 67
1d100 = 21
1d100 = 76

WAINGROH
Date: Monday, March 23rd, 2043
Weather: Outside: Sunny, warm, bright (55 degrees Fahrenheit)
Time: 11:15-11:20 am

Spiderweb, Brute and Wi-Fi:
Brute announces his findings and puts his antennae to work. His senses are overwhelmingly mixed up and he's unable to find the location of the scents that he finds swirling around him. He definitely knows that he smelled sulfur but tracing it is not happening right now. His antennae do let him know that his coffee is between 151 and 153 degrees, having recently had the power cut to it. The other thing his antenna do tell him is that the very slight irregular wind he was lead to this room by is coming from the northern half of the room and it's rising.

Wi-Fi puts on her metaphorical detective hat and starts searching the kitchen for clues. She notices that there are no dishes in the sink, that the sink seems dry and that even the sponge used to wash dishes looks like it hasn't seen use in some time. She notices that there are cabinets below the sink as well full of plates and cups. She can tell from what she saw in the cameras versus the room that she is in that this is NOT the lab or butchery-like area. The only thing Wi-Fi is able to notice is that the dust in the room is accumulated in the southern end. The coffee maker is in fine condition besides not being powered currently. Wi-Fi extends her Electro-kinetic abilities, but finds that with no power running to anything in the building, there is nothing to sense, let alone control.

Spiderweb ponders about invisibility, shadow merging and the abilities of their foes. From what was mentioned in the UED Dossiers, nothing in question was listed in their known capabilities. He mentions some ideas about temperature, secret doors and coffee. Also steak.

Rampart and Thunder:
Thunder does her search and doesn't find anything of interest.

Rampart creates a big ol energy hand and slides the vending machine on the eastern wall away in search of a secret door. Nope! Nothing there besides spiders, dust and a power cord. He does the same with the vending machine on the southern wall. No secret door! There are the same spiders and dust. But the power cord doesn't head into an outlet. Instead there is a box protruding from the wall that has quite a few sockets. The power cord splits at the end and plugs into each of them.

Sentinel and Rook:
Rook does her search of the center of the room and finds nothing. Just cubicles and paperwork and pens and blank computer screens. Sentinel tags along.

What are you doing? Map is unchanged from last round.
Let the GAMES begin.

Brute keys on his radio.

"Brute to Omegas, rendez vous at our location, northwest corner, ASAP."

Turning to Wifi and Webs. "New search parameters - look for a hidden button, lever, or control pad. Something that might activate an elevator."

Brute resumes his search. This time, He thinks, Let's see if I smell any motor oil... That'd confirm my theory.

"I was thinking something like that too. This area seems to clean and that dust pattern was too precise. All the dust is in the south end. The sink, dishes and such are not used either or something keeps them dry. A mechanical lever makes sense. It can't be tracked by techno-paths or is not reliant on power. I would do that especially knowing powers exist that manipulate machinery and electricity are out there." she nods.

"Part of the room at least is elevator if it is an elevator. I suggest when we go down we take positions of cover first and have the spiders turn off the lights. Another option is to send the elevator down empty to trigger any ambushes then they have to come to us. An omega suit filled with papers and hung from string or wire should work nicely." she said carefully moving about as to not step on the spider-bot.

"We have plenty of paper guessing there has to be a string and other office supplies as well. I would wait to ambush people using the elevator instead of risking an assault in the dark. It does explain their lack of response to our presence." Wi-Fi said with a sly grin at the end looking about.

Hearing this over her radio, and not having found anything worth reporting in herself, Rook keys in an acknowledgement before heading towards the north-west corner as requested. Fortunately it's not that far and she is able to arrive rather quickly.

"What did you find?" the winged-woman inquires as she stands just outside the room, not wanting to get in the way. While waiting for a response, she'll reach out with her metal senses to see if anything unusual or interesting can be detected - also on the list of things she'd like to find is an iron bar or cudgel of some sort, mostly to use as 'ammunition' for her metal pellets ability.

If Barney's eyebrows could be seen in his costume, they would be raised, Brute's conclusion is unusual, even a bit startling, I trust Brute, and it can explain a few things, but it is a bit strange. We will see how this works out.

He looks around, if this room is an elevator, than someone probably has it under surveillance.

He comments, "A secret elevator, that means there is some way to control it...but whoever is at the other end of the shaft does not likely want visitors. I would think they are watching or listening, or both."

"Glad you're safe, Hope my spider was not too much trouble. they can get creative sometimes. We may have a way down." she nods and spoke to Rook as she appears. If Rook was on the ball and checking the scene she would let the girl get credit for a metal scan or materials scan. Wi-Fi was a bit of a glory hog at times..and beating this HQ was something she would like to do.

He comments, "A secret elevator, that means there is some way to control it...but whoever is at the other end of the shaft does not likely want visitors. I would think they are watching or listening, or both."

"I did not sense any powered listening devices. but that does not rule out non-powered methods. Long ago I learned that sometimes the old ways are the best." she looks at spiderweb, "But a good point I will re-check for listening and spying devices that are not on the grid through their power source. but I can't sense inactive devices. I sense the electricity and not the actual devices." she focused a moment and scanned.

He smiles and points at the floor. Would'nt be the first time we had to make our own entrance, and it won't be the last, but I would like to retain the element of surprise if possible. Assuming we even have that. So we need to get a move on.

Spiderweb wrote:"Possibly turning off the power put out their eyes...and may make the elevator not work."

Brute nods. "That was the plan, leave 'em in the dark. If the elevator requires power, we can turn it back on and then cut it again when we get to housewares." He chuckles.

Looking at Wi-Fi and Moya, he smiles and adds, "The power is ours, after all."

Once Rampart moves the second vending machine out of the way, Moya notices something a little odd.

That power cord. Why does it look so different? Why does it split like that? I don't think I have seen a vending machine do that.

"Hey, Rampart. What do make out of this?"

Moya points to the vending machine cord and outlet junction on the wall. With a look of confusion, she switches he vision from Rampart to the outlet a couple of times. She takes a closer look at the outlet. Trying to determine why the plug is split and why the outlet is a box and not a normal wall outlet. After her check of the outlet and plug, Moya turns back to Rampart. She will convey anything of importance, if she finds anything.

"Have you heard anything from the others. They got to be doing better than we are. What if this building is a decoy and now we tipped our hand?"

((OOC: I'm going to assume for the sake of not having to repeat things we arrive about the same time as Rook -- or at least close enough for us to hear anyway))

"The elevator is a whole room? Hunh..." Rampart blinks. "That'd make sense as to why we couldn't find a secret entrance. I was actually about 30 seconds away from making an argument for teleportation the way we weren't finding anything useful."

He starts looking around the room, searching for any separation lines that could indicate which part of the floor is the actual lift platform as well as anything that could be used as a secret activation switch/lever (opening cabinet doors, turning the faucet off/on, removing the coffee pot from the coffee maker, etc.). If he finds anything that looks suitably suspicious he'll flag Brute over.

"If it was Teleportation that would explain the lack of dust. If we can't find a lever it is possible the system is remotely activated. Let's try to find the lever first. it will give us a clearer picture of what we are dealing with. Don't pull the lever if you find it. we could be ambushed or worse." Wi-Fi adds. listening as she looks. Where would I put a lever? Sink and taps maybe levers. They are clean and dry.

Barney says, "My guess, the control is not something as simple as a lever that could be moved accidentally. Assuming the control is from here, and not something in a remote location, then it is likely something you could not activate by accident. Well then, how are we gonna know it's a lever until we pull it???? Rampart frowns as he starts looking through cabinets and such. "Just a quick question. This 'Ironvein' guy -- he have any documented powers that would allow him to manipulate electronics or machinery remotely? "Look for out of place sensors as well. it could be a vocal command or remote triggered as well. We don't find anything I'll do a telemechanic scan." she called over her shoulder as she looked for the lever.

Mini-Update:

The Omegas gather in the kitchen that they have decided is an elevator and begin looking for a secret passageway button. They check in the cabinets, in the fridge and inside everything that moves in the room. It's not until Rampart removes the coffee pot from the coffee maker that something is noticeably different. The coffee pot has a magnetic plate attached to the bottom of it and is more difficult to remove than would be expected. Still, nothing happens, nothing moves.

What are you doing?

Barney helps search the room and, when the coffee pot is revealed, comments, "Magnetic...possibly a device to read a magnetic input of some kind...but will likely not function without power. Still, the input has to go somewhere."

He thinks, Wifi and Rampart were discussing telemechanics, I am not sure what that is, but I bet it can figure out how this thing works if it is an input device.

Barney does not really have any useful skills for figuring out machines.

WAINGROH
Date: Monday, March 23rd, 2043
Weather: Outside: Sunny, warm, bright (55 degrees Fahrenheit)
Time: 11:25-11:30 am

Wi-Fi confirms with Brute that her next step should be using her Telemechanical abilities. She touches the coffee pot and is flooded with information.

Wi-Fi
The coffee pot lets you know that it is a final trigger in a series of triggers. It's schematic follows a series of cables in two different directions. One leads through and behind the counter, into a pneumatic lift held in place by strong electromagnets. It is set to travel two stories down. The other direction of cables leads through the floor and into one of the other offices where the code F4 is to be pressed on a machine before the coffee pot is to be moved with a 2 minute reset timer. This combination releases the electromagnets and activates the pneumatic lift.

Rook (sorry, missed that last time) extends her ability to sense metal and finds that there is plenty of metal all around her. She can sense, as Brute directs her to, rails and pistons.

Rampart creates some human sized energy beings next to the coffee maker.

What are you doing?

Barney waits for the others to give him information.

He thinks, I HATE waiting, but sometimes there is really nothing else to do. I hope they found out something useful.

Wi-Fi opens her eyes and shakes her head trying to not think like a coffee maker. Hmmm "Coffee does sound good." she thought for a moment. Taking a moment to focus and not fall over from any sort of psychic disorientation continues.

"That worked well, The coffee pot is the final trigger to a lift system that goes two stories down. One set of cables goes behind that counter to a pneumatic lift held in place by strong electromagnets." she points the path of the cables and counters out, "The other set of cables leads through the floor and into one of the other offices where the code F4 has to be pressed on a machine before the coffee pot is to be moved with a 2-minute reset timer. That should release the electromagnets and activates the pneumatic lift. it is a Rather an ingenious set-up. I like it." she says, "It is a shame he works for the order. Imagine what our HQ would be like if he was one of us."

"Nice, force human analogues, What's the range on them and can you sense when they are destroyed?" she asks out curiosity. They could be hand for holding her spot in line for the next Comic-con line up.

Barney turns to the others, "I do not recall an appropriate location for such input. Perhaps one of you noticed someplace where such input would make sense?"

Possibly they could override the input, but better not to do so if possible.

Opening her eyes, Rook looks to their mighty leader, but pauses before replying to give Wi-Fi her chance to speak up. Once she's finished explaining the systems, Rook offers a little nod. "I sense the rails and pistons, but thats the extent of my perceptions, unless you want to know what they're crafted of or where they're located." the winged woman adds with an apologetic little shrug. Once her report is given, Rook will dig around in some of the drawers and cupboards to see if she can find some metal pots or large utensils or something; anything she can use as ammunition.

Noting her apologetic tone, he turns to Rook. "Excellent - you and Wi-Fi did exactly what I'd hoped, and confirmed this was an elevator and not a teleporter or dimensional portal. Well done." He watches her sort through the drawers for silverware. If she turns up empty, he says, "Dont forget the fittings - drawer handles, plumbing. There's metal enough here to make you an arsenal."

Turning to the team at large, he says. "All right team, we have our way in. Wi-Fi - you think you can use your powers to fire up the ol' elevator and turn it on? Fast is good. Fast and quiet is best. I'd like to get in all stealthy-like if we can. I have no doubt they know we're here, but on the off chance they don't know who we are or how many, I'd like to keep it that way."

If Wi-Fi can power and activate the lift, Brute smiles. "All right team - let's assume there'll be a welcoming party. Ready yourselves for a fight."

"Moya... you're tough, right? I'll take point, You and Rampart take the second rank, and Webs, Rook, and Wi-Fi take rear." That'll be good - meat shield out front, strong defenders next, and ranged fighters in the back? Seems good.

He cracks his knuckles and rolls his neck, hopping a little on his toes like a boxer warming up for a bout. "For Odin."

"Interesting..Omega 'Taskforse X' would be a tough sell. but if they can fight as a unit...back to matters at hand." she replied aloud to no one in particular.

"I sense the rails and pistons, but thats the extent of my perceptions, unless you want to know what they're crafted of or where they're located."

"If you can track the one set of cables heading away from this room. I have a guess as to the 'F4' angle." she told Rook, "Take someone with you just in case. there is either an ambush at the end this elevator or they are hunting for us in the dark taking advantage of it as we are." Wi-Fi requested.

"I do not recall an appropriate location for such input. Perhaps one of you noticed someplace where such input would make sense?"

"Webs, you have a good term there. Input...That gives me an idea." she grins, "your much wiser than you think at times. I can't be the only one who gets the F4.."

Rampart nods. "Makes sense. If I were a evil genius I'd probably do the same thing."

"I dunno," he shrugs. "If you're only going from point A to point B, how much input do you need other than the start and stop? Could be as simple as a dead switch."

"This is scary, we think alike. I think the lift is simple. The Electro-magnets hold the lift here and when they are off the piston moves the room or part of it. not much in the way of programming." she looks to Moya as one her spiders was at her feet looking about.

"Spiderbot, get over here. The spiderbots are not very space aware in terms of personal space. They compact up as a group and space out tactically. if they do bother you just gently push them away a bit. I had not planned on them as being flashlights." Wi-Fi pauses as the bot joined stubby and she looks to Brute, "When I get back I need to get that field kit put together." Rover remained near Rampart looking about near him.

Brute shrugs. As she works, he explains. "Yeah - that's kinda how the Omegas were set up. Remeber that CHIMERA sees all nonsanctioned hereoes as criminals, so... they gave the original Omegas a choice: join or go to Gramercy. Same choice they've been offering to everyone else. I'm... trying to soften Balisong's stance on that - I feel that a team of volunteers, rather than 'voluntold', works better, has better morale, and is more trustworthy. And to her credit, we've had more volunteers than 'voluntold' of late."

After a moment, he adds, "But I don't try to outguess Balisong. She keeps her plans to herself."

Moya wrote:"Huh? Tough?! Yeah probably tougher than you, big guy."

Brute's eyes widen. He looks at Moya. Tall, strong, no visible scars. He raises his eyebrows. "No shit?" Well... Damn." He smiles, and reaches out to shake her hand. "That's damn good to know. still... I think it's probably easier for the others to take cover behind my monstrous form than yours, so, here's the new plan: You'll be our forward scout. I'll take point for the main group."

She can do what Black Dog used to do - just run in and cause chaos, then, hopefully, we can take advantage of the disarray with an ordered assault. If I can get the guys to cooperate.

"Enemies are likely to break rank if they think they're facing just one person - so we sometimes have an Omega run in, to sow confusion, and then we... TRY... to come in and use that to take the bad guys down. You game for that?"

Rampart lets out a soft whistle. "Again, pretty impressive. Even if you stumbled across the coffee pot you could spend several years in here and never find the other part." He thinks a moment. "If he actually WERE one of us, though, I'd be switching to decaf..." he adds with a smirk. "And for the record, I think YOU should be the one most worried about our thinking alike. At least for the time being."

Brute wrote:"They look like Strive. Good ol' Strive. Former Omega, could turn into a human-shaped forcefield. Well... sometimes human-shaped. He was a dome once and I didn't recognize him so I handed him his ass. Oops."

"Uhm... and the moral of the story is 'never punch a dome, it might be someone you know?' For the record, I can't turn into a dome..." he chuckles. Not yet, anyway... one of the reasons they ran so many tests at the hospital is because they noticed some new mutations with no indications as to when -- or if -- they'll ever stop. This time around it was a huge increase in my alveoli. Who knows what it may be next time?

Wi-Fi wrote:"Nice, force human analogues, What's the range on them and can you sense when they are destroyed?"

"Not really sure. I can put up force fields 250, 275 feet away... so I guess that far? And I can tell when my shields take damage -- which is fortunate when I'm using them for cover -- so I'd say yeah. They're literally mannequins, statues made out of energy." He shrugs. "Really about all they can do is stand there and look cool. Joint articulation and stuff like that is much more complicated."

Rampart can't help but chuckle. "I'm beginning to sense a theme here -- beyond 'Brute Smash' anyway -- and that's CHIMERA not making briefings on new member dossiers a priority, am I right?" He looks around at everyone else. "Okay, for those of you who are a bit squishier than these two, stick behind me. I can make force fields big enough for even the chief here to hide behind if things go sour." He looks back at Brute and Moya. "Or WHEN. When is good..."

Barney notes, "Even I have a force field, though it is pretty limited, I can only do a sphere or a hand-held shield with it. It has been useful to capture enemies sometimes though."

He considers, "So these Mannequins, can you move them at all? Could you make them with joints so they can be moved around like puppets?"

He thinks, It sounds like they are pretty much immobile, possibly I will have to move them around with my webbing.

Rook offers a quick nod to Brute, appreciative of his easy acceptance of her information. As he mentions handles and fittings the blonde woman pauses. "You know, I hadn't thought of that somehow." she replies, giving her head a little shake then grabbing.. something metal at random. Doesn't matter what really! "I honestly keep hoping to find a cast iron frying pan. Those things are so useful in a lot of ways!"

Fingering it and doing her best to quell nervousness, Rook shifts from foot to foot, then unfurls her wings a little. "Right.. third line. If they start lobbing projectiles though I can meat-shield it up as well. Not so much lasers and.. bombs and fire and stuff. Maybe not arrows.. I'm not certain on that one."
