Chastity thinks, I need to make an impression as a tough girl.

She says, "I could use a promoter. You line up fights and I win them, we both make money. Just to be clear though, it is my combat abilities that are for sale..."

She transforms her right arm into a rocket launcher and points it at his crotch, "...but if you put one hand on me without my consent and I will blow your guys off. Clear? They call me Chastity for a reason."

Not that she has actually primed the rocket launcher, the fact of the transformation and her apparent attitude should serve to get her point across.

At times like this, it would help to have a high MA, but the dice did not grant me one.

Wi-Fi emerges from trance, "Well, I will definitely need to meditate now. I have good news and bad news. " she takes a careful stand and looks to Sentinel and the doctors if they were still there. This was going to be a rough mission. One that would bring her and Rook back to an incident. That power de-stabilizer was destroyed or at least secured, right? The power disabling device recovered was able to disable and disrupt powers in a given area. It was also flawed. Her Psychic talents were unaffected.

"Turns out the Blunt force trauma is correct. Nice work on the CSI and damage assessment. I found no 'grab' or pressure points around the breaks to indicate snapping. He will recover eventually. After the case is done I will check again." she looks to Sentinel. "I have a few ideas I need to ask you about. involving how magic can bypass Physical resistances. My other 2 theories involve psychic and modern methods. I will need to call HQ and confirm a certain device is safe once we get back to the station."

He then looks at the other side of the gym. "And who are those scrubs over there? You think you'll get a ticket if you fight not-Jackie-Chan over there? Not gonna happen. But what about the babes?"

Curtis taps him on the elbow and then leads him to the treadmills. "Ladies, this is Greene, a local bookie and promoter. He wanted to say hello." He gives everyone a nod. You want to make a good introduction.


Catching their approach in her peripheral vision, Rook slows her pace from a moderate jog to a walk, resting her hands on the rails then offering a nod to the detective and the bookie.

"Nice to meet you, Greene." she replies, stepping off of the treadmill and reaching for a towel to wipe her face. As Chastity steps in, she smiles but then takes a half-step back as she does the rocket launcher thing.

"I'm sure Greene is a gentleman, Chastity." she chides the other gently, looking to the bookie pointedly then stepping forward and offering a hand. "You can call me Natasha." the blonde heroine suggests, wings giving a twitch. "I assuming that you have some way to help us, then?" Rook trails off, glancing to the detective questioningly.

The doctor takes back his clipboard and enters the latest vital signs, blood pressure, heartrate, etc. "As you can see, the only thing we can do is wait and see how much his brain is able to heal on its own. We should know in 2 or 3 weeks if he will ever wake up. His wife is optimistic it will happen soon; that's why she's camped out in the hallway." The doctor rereads the vitals and furrows his brow. He looks at Gathe, whose face twitches and then slackens. Does he look almost comforted? "That's a good sign. He might wake up sooner than I'd expect."


Nodding to the Doctor, If we can’t heal him this way I have other means. If I can restore charred remains to life, I can restore this man should he pass. Sentinel comments, ]”Yes, death and sleep look the same except one is measured by the breaths between deathly pauses." Interesting that both of us could not revive him, he will need some luck for sure. He calls forth a few rabbits and sets them around the unconscious man.

Wi-fi looks to Sentinel. "I have a few ideas I need to ask you about, involving how magic can bypass physical resistances. My other two theories involve psychic and modern methods. I will need to call HQ and confirm a certain device is safe once we get back to the station."


”Ms. Wi-fi, magic can bypass many things. I am not sure what you mean though. Would you elaborate what you are trying to accomplish? Sentinel inquires to Wi-fi’s own vague inquiry.

After Sentinel speaks to the Doc and Wi-f, he steps outside the hospital room to find the wife of Detective Gathe to offer her a greeting, Ms. Gathe, I am Zheng...." and then proceeds giving her a medical rundown fitting of a seasoned Doctor,”It seems other than taking additional drastic measures he will possibly recover in a few weeks. We will find those responsible and deliver them wǔ xíng.”

Right on the first try, her voice says a touch humored in Greene's mind, physically hissing as she tastes the air about this man, Most see me and don't think much more than snake. She leans her head over to look over the detective, before tentatively slithering over to the new man, wrapping about his neck and shoulders, head level with his. As for healing, my treatment solely consists of dry articles and, when it's needed, physical therapy. Her tone is quite dry as she stares at the detective, making sure her comments ring in his mind as well, given the position he's forced her into.

Not the worst introduction in the world, at least. He could have thrown me, after all, and then they'd both have been bitten. Maybe twice. As she slides about on Greene, she gets comfortable looping about him, letting her weight sag on him as she looks the others over, letting them make their introductions before she finally gives him her own name, Sicilia and female, by the way. Bit hard for humans to tell, I've found,

"I think the good officer had whatever powers he has disabled. as in turned off." she answers, "A while back, there was a device in Century Station that did that. I was able to get it to disable robotics armor as well. If something like that is here as well we could be in trouble." the mutant looked at the Golem.

Saving Throw: Everyone who encounters the disguised character gets a save vs magic, but is -4 to succeed. A successful save means the true features are seen, not the mask. However, those who don't really pay attention or care who the character might be, are automatically fooled by the deception (no chance to save).
P.P.E.: 15
A useful tool for deception, it magically creates an illusionary mask over the spell caster's own facial features. Age, gender, skin color, hair, hair length, and specific features are composed with thought. However, the magic is limited to facial features and does not apply to any other part of the body. The mage can attempt to imitate a specific person's face, but has a mere 20%+5% chance per level of experience. If the character has the Disguise skill, use that base skill instead.

In his peripheral Sentinel can see the Detective talking to someone with Sicilia draped over his shoulder.
Curtis introduces the man as Green and seemingly only to the woman, I suppose show-woman-ship is based on looks rather than one's strengths here. he thinks wondering if perhaps he should take a different approach to garner the bookie's interest. Sentinel keeps a low key watching the exchange and getting a read on the bookie. Cast See Aura, and Sense Anomaly (always active).

Sentinel nods, ""Greetings." he says in the Brooklyn accent keeping it nonchalant.

What would happen if such a device was brought to bear on myself? I don’t think my power is based on the same as the Detectives? My Ki is certainly not. No, it isn’t as much of a concern as she thinks. Regardless wisdom and experience would prevail. he thinks

”Ms. Wi-fi, are you are concerned whether it can disable me? I do not know. There are not many ways I know one can be cut off from their Ki. I have never had any such situation to know how it affects me though but it is unlikely I could end up like the Detective.” he says confident.

Weather: Sunny, warm (71 degrees Fahrenheit)
Time: 2:00 pm

Members of Bravo Team are introduced to a local fight promoter, Greene, at the Warrior Body Sculpting gym. Sicilia is the first to do so, and Greene plies her with questions about physical therapy. She gives him the quippy response of a seasoned writer. He nods thoughtfully, and replies, "So those dry articles are you molted skin? Huh, you must be some kind of magical snake."

Clearly, the hoodlums of Megapolis do not appreciate a deadpan joke. Although the joke went over his head, he seems fond of Sicilia, and comfortably rests her on his shoulders. As she settles in, he turns to Curtis and says, "Don't ask how, but Swish tore his Achilles warming-up last night."

"So he's off the card tonight?"

"Maybe." Greene lifts an arm to look the asp in the eyes. "Depends on what the trainers can do."

"So who's fighting in his place?" Greene smiles and asks to meet the others.

The three walk over to Chastity, Sasha, and Xang. It is an awkward introduction, as Chastity immediately draws a weapon on their one contact to the fights. Greene nearly drops Sicilia from his shoulders taking two steps back. He sizes the teenage girl up coldly, "I don't know you, and I don't want to know someone that pulls a gun on me."

Greene warms up to Sasha, or Natasha as she is going by, immediately. He tips his hat to hear and says smoothly, "I do believe it is the other way around, Earth Angel. "Be here at 7, I'll have a van pick you up." He slides Sicilia off his shoulders and gives her a nod. "You're invited too. Maybe you can help patch up my guy. Maybe you'll just have a fun time at the fights." His face turns grim and then he points at Chastity. "If she's here, don't expect the van to stop for you."

After a light workout for appearances, Curtis takes everyone back to the police station. He lets out a sigh in the car. "That could have gone real bad real fast if he thought Chastity was an actual threat. But instead, most of you got an invite. That's a big deal, entrance to the fights is tightly controlled. My advice is to just keep your covers and let them give you more access."

At the hospital, Sentinel and Wi-Fi are standing over a comatose Officer Gathe. The doctors are pleasantly surprised that he is showing some signs of improvement since the ancient Chinese warrior had laid hands on him. While optimistic, they are still very concerned about his chances of recovery.

"We've done everything we can to let the brain heal. But ultimately it must recover on its own time. We might have to wait months before he is fully conscious." Gathe's mouth slackens and he lets out a heavy breath. "Weeks. I've had similar patients, and I don't like to rush them. If we wake him up too soon, he might suffer irreparable damage." Gathe slowly closes his mouth. "But even if he doesn't, he will wake up when his body says he is ready."

The doctor puts the clipboard on the bed stand and looks at the rabbits that were summoned with no explanation. "Regardless. I don't know what you were planning on doing. But I might consult with Officer Gathe's wife, who has been crying in the hallway this whole time, before you do anything that might involve killing him. She might have words. Speaking of which, I believe she would like some time alone with her husband."

The doctor ushers Sentinel and Wi-Fi out of the room as Detective Hoyle leads his daughter in. Guardian Plus is waiting in the hallway. "Hey guys! I hope you learned something useful for this case. Let's head back."

The three heroes start to talk about who could have inflicted that much damage on someone with unbreakable bones.* Guardian Plus immediately dismisses psionics, not surprising given his helmet. "I don't think you can trick someone into making his bones breakable. You would have to actually disable the man's powers. And I suppose it can be done. I've heard of a few powers, like borrowing someone else's powers, that could stop the Bottomless Gathe Tank like that. But we haven't arrested anyone with that ability, not that I know of. Then again, a new criminal on the scene is more likely than a demon or something magical. If there was a monster running around, we would know about it."

They walk back to the waiting room in the hospital's main floor. Just like before, our local daytime host lifting a heavyset woman with one arm as she tried to attack her very small and very skinny boyfriend. The audience cheers as the show goes into a commercial break. Transit takes over the screen, and turns an open dishwasher into a portal back to the police base.

Chastity does a normal strength training workout and some running, showing that she has more going on than just her powers.

After they leave, Chastity sighs, "I guess I did that wrong. I am much better at figuring out machines than people."

That is certainly the case, if the situation were a mechanical device, she could figure it out. People are never that simple.

She pause to think a moment, then asks, "Would it have worked better if I used a knife?"

She thinks, Possibly this is just showing my ignorance more. Still, I wonder if he is all that involved.
