Postby Underguard » Fri Sep 27, 2019 10:39 am

As per the organizational roles listed below, please rate Virtus on a scale of 1-10, 10 being highest, 1 being lowest.

This poll will remain open until October 8th, or until all players have voted.

GM Occupational Responsibilities wrote:Game Master (GM)
Specific post detailing guidelines.
Duties:
  • Maintain a GM post rate at a minimum of one adventure post per week.
  • Have the IM contact info of each player in their group.
  • Notify all players in the group via IM or PM of new GM posts, and other important updates.
  • Maintain your adventure notes in the GM's Cabal. (Gist: If a random GM can't pick up and run the adventure from your notes, the notes are unsatisfactory.)
  • Be available for IM chat at least one day a week.
  • Coordinate with the AGM regarding expected adventure dates & time-frames.
  • Consult with AGM regarding XP awards.
  • Directly notify AGM via PM of any expected absences in addition to the Account Status Tracker.

Rewards:
  • GMs will be rated according to merit by their players every quadrimester.
  • Rating will be done by players on the following schedule:
      • Quad 1: June 1st
      • Quad 2: October 1st
      • Quad 3: February 1st
  • Each is responsible for creating his rating poll on the above schedule.
  • Players are responsible for rating the GMs within a week of the poll being posted, and posting notice that they have voted (in the same thread.)
  • Ratings will be conducted via poll and averaged to the nearest whole number.
  • Players who do not vote will be removed from the average.

GM Rating Reward Table
10: You have earned 7 EP.
9: You have earned 6 EP.
8: You have earned 5 EP.
7: You have earned 4 EP.
4-6: You have earned only 2 EP, also, you're on probation.
1-3: Your position is now vacant; the group's AGM will post the availability of the group's GM position to the OOC Recruiting Thread.

Adventure Lengths:

Suggested adventure length is 12 months or less. GM's should plan accordingly.
  • There will be imposed no penalty for not meeting the suggested length, but players might judge their GM harshly for failing to meet expectations.
  • Epic adventures (those in excess of 9 months), must have unanimous player approval, and the GM's Cabal must be notified.
  • Primarily so we can beg, borrow, and steal ideas, but also so that we can advise one another regarding potential pitfalls and the like.
  • Following each adventure abroad, the Assistant GM will run in-town adventures for the group for a 3-month period.
  • During this time, the GM will do what he needs to for the next adventure.

If you managed to earn yourself probation:
Your next rating must be above probation level, or you will lose your position.

If you did not receive 100% of player votes:
In the future, A/GMs need to anticipate players potentially being unavailable during the rating period, and notify players to vote regardless of status, or some other means of recording their vote. Plan ahead!

Voted. Feedback:

- The post rate for this past quad wasn't great, but I'm the last person who should be complaining after Ronith's dismal showing so I tried not to factor that into my voting. Personally, I enjoyed the breather with Ronith quite a bit, as it lined up with a couple instances in which regular posting would be challenging for me. But I'm fairly certain I'm in the minority on that one.
- However, I do think that with the main group back in MT in particular the ball was dropped. This is not the first instance of our AGM failing to meet the standards expected for the position, and I think that if we don't see improvement soon it will be time to get a replacement. We vote for the GM not the AGM so again I tried not to factor this into my voting.
- There's clearly a compelling narrative that Virtus is cooking up behind the scenes and that we still only get glimpses up. I remain intrigued and enthused by that, which is no small feat after playing the same character for almost 14 years. As with all ambitious story-lines in this venue, I remain concerned that details will get missed or forgotten to the detriment of the plot (i.e., do what you can to keep things simple Virtus, AGM make sure there's a thread for keeping track of all the fine details).
- My rating includes bonus points for Virtus trying something new. I want to encourage that kind of experimentation in the future.

Agreed that our AGM needs to pick up a bit (though I can hardly comment at times).

I have enjoyed the game so far and hoping we can get back on track. The create your adventures was intriguing but a bit hollow.

Grant was able to accomplish much of what I wanted during the downtime. I think the interludes (a Savage Worlds term for where you narrate an extended action and development for your character) have a place in Palladium Rifts, but in general it should probably have been limited to just 1 per character rather than over an extended period of time. Also for the future, the interlude should be singular. Each character has their own interlude and interacts with the other player characters in a passive way.

I do like the hints of a meta plot occurring in the background that are slowly being revealed. My caution is that it should not end up that every adventure we do is connected and there is some vast conspiracy targeting H4H. I don't think we've reached that point yet.

Overall, very much enjoy being a part of this team and excited to see where our 'Search' takes us.

I really enjoy the game when Virtus is active. Not thrilled about the AGM dropping the ball.
