I'M TAKING OVER THIS BITCH.

Time for me to give you the scoop on TGM's GMing style so you all don't freak out.

1.) I do this shit for FUN.
2.) I expect good writing from each and every one of you. Proofread your posts before you hit submit. I don't expect anyone to be Shakespeare, I just don't want you butchering my fucking language.
3.) One-liner posts piss me off. If your character doesn't have something to say or do in a given situation...well, shit, that happens sometimes, right? That's when you get into your character's HEAD and express his thoughts instead of his words or actions.
4.) The best posts include all three of these things:
 Action
 Dialogue
 Introspection
5.) It can be unhealthy for your characters to NOT post JIC and Perception rolls while adventuring. Don't say I didn't warn you!
6.) I tend to reward good roleplaying more than hack-and-slashing. That being said, you can rest assured that you will have to fight for your lives in every adventure I run.
7.) I tend to be miserly with the LOOT and more generous with XP. Sometimes, the opposite of this is true.
8.) If you're not having fun I expect you to tell me! Politely, of course, and be helpful by telling me why.
9.) The name of this site is EXPLORERS Unlimited...so expect to go places--'nuff said.
10.) I am always cool with being corrected on a rule or detail I missed so long as you're polite.

LAST but not least...do not assume an emotion or "tone" behind a written sentence unless you see an emoticon beside that sentence. (This is the most important on-line lesson you can learn.)

Let's have fun!

What you can expect from my GMing style & what I expect from you.

1.) I do this shit for FUN. Contrary to the beliefs of an immature few, I am not not on a power-trip. If power over the lives of others was something I desired, I'd still be in the Navy.
2.) I expect good writing from each and every one of you. I expect you to proofread your posts before you hit submit. I don't expect anyone to be Shakespeare, but I don't want you butchering my fucking language. Spell-check is your friend, but that friend is not 100% reliable. Doing a spell-check is not the same as proofreading your post.
3.) One-liner posts piss me off. If your character doesn't have something to say or do in a given situation...well, shit, that happens sometimes, right? That's when you get into your character's HEAD and express his thoughts instead of his words or actions. The best posts include all three of these things: Action, Dialogue, Introspection. If you have these in every post, we will all get to know your character well.
4.) It can be unhealthy for your characters if you do NOT post JIC and Perception rolls in every postn. Don't say I didn't warn you!
5.) I tend to reward good roleplaying more than hacking-and-slashing. That being said, you can rest assured that you will have to fight for your lives throughout this campaign.
6.) I tend to be miserly with the LOOT and more generous with XP. Sometimes, the opposite of this is true. In this campaign, you'll find LOOT to be damn near non-existent.
7.) If you're not having fun I expect you to tell me! Politely, of course, and be helpful by telling me why.
8.) I am always cool with being corrected on a rule or detail I missed so long as you're polite.
9.) Do not assume an emotion or "tone" behind a written sentence unless you see an emoticon beside that sentence. (This is one of the most important on-line lessons which one can learn.)
10.) Your characters MUST interact with each other in order for this game to succeed at any level whatsoever.
11.) I am not a solely reactive GM. I will push you in certain directions by way of stimuli external to your characters. That being said, I will never dictate your character's actions provided you give me enough information to go by.

I thought that weeks of bugging everyone about making sure their Equipment posts would avoid any confusion as to my expectations.
This hasn't seemed to work. So to make things crystal clear about my expectations:

 Update your equipment post to reflect what your character is carrying.
• • If you're walking about in a non-combat situation and your equipment sheet shows you are wearing armor and toting a BFG, expect the NPCs to react accordingly.
• • If you're in a combat scene and your equipment sheet shows you are traipsing about in a sheer neglige while attacking, expect bad things to result.
• • My rationale is this: Updating an equipment sheet is simple: cut and paste to reallocate items. Updating a signature requires one to access the control panel, refer back to one's equipment post, and edit accordingly. Ergo, it's a bit redundant.
• • I have player characters with whom I have to do all of this, so I do understand the level of work involved. If you want to see a good example of such, refer to Jezebel's profile and equipment post.

 If you use a signature, make sure it includes your active conditions and includes a summary of weapons & armor on your person.
• • I do not refer to players' signatures when checking to see what protects them, or with what they're armed.
• • When writing a GM post I open up a tab to the group forum and refer directly to the character equipment sheets.

The Game Master wrote:10.) I am always cool with being corrected on a rule or detail I missed so long as you're polite.

 To clarify, contacting me via IM to bring up an oversight or correction that needs fixing is A-okay in my book. That being said, bringing up such an error or oversight in public and/or including epithets and other manners of disrespect will result in one of the following depending on your level of rudeness:
• • Extremely rude and personally insulting messages will simply result in getting yourself banned.
• • Rude, combative, sarcastic messages and the like will result in me digging in my heels and becoming less flexible.
• In short, you can get more flies with honey than you can with shit. Think about what you're going to say and how it will be taken before you say it.

The Game Master wrote:4.) It can be unhealthy for your characters if you do NOT post JIC and Perception rolls in every post. Don't say I didn't warn you!

• • Needless to say, failing to post during a combat scene (without notice in the tracker) WILL result in an auto-fail of everything. Expect unpleasantness to ensue.
