Use of Other Settings and outworld characters:

General Rules:
1) Characters from any other setting start with a minimum of a 3 EP cost, this reflects the difficulty of travel to the Nightbane universe.

2) Some Character Classes from other universes may be suitable to use in the Nightbane Setting, those classes may be unlocked for local use with an appropriate EP cost.

3) Non-living Physical objects from other worlds can not be brought into Nightbane.

4) Characters who Possess classes that would be assayed a cost if they were Nightbane Native will be assigned an appropriate class cost, over and above the Dimensional unlock cost.

5) Non human races are a rarity in Nightbane, any race other than Human is going to have a minimum EP cost of 1.

Class Unlocks (to use outside classes in Nightbane)
2 EP: Beyond the Supernatural Psychic Classes: Unlocking such classes costs the same as the equivalent Nightbane Psychic class Plus 2 EP.
3 EP: Heroes Unlimited Physical Training and Special Training characters are considered as Natural/Genius Psychic characters, with an additional 3 EP cost assessed.

Dimensional Unlocks: Over and above any EP cost for Race or Class, there is a basic cost for being from another universe. The entire setting seems to be designed to keeps things out. The Way things are set up, all things must pass through the Nighlands to get to Nightbane Earth. As there are Astral and Dream lands associated with the Nightlands, one trying to enter via those planes is channeled through the Nightlands versions first. (OOC: I have speculated that someone was deliberately trying to keep something out, but I have not found any proof of that.) As such, I am putting costs on characters from other settings.

3 EP: Beyond the Supernatural
3 EP: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
3 EP Dead Reign
3 EP Systems Failure
4 EP: Palladium Fantasy
4 EP: Ninjas and Superspies
6 EP: any MDC setting

Special EP Costs:
+3 EP Any character with super powers is charged an additional 3 EP, over and above their setting unlocks
+3 EP Any character who possess the ability to Sense Chi will be charged an additional 3 EP. This also does for playing Dog Boys, Psi-Stalkers, and any other class with similar abilities.

Species: Any species who is not Human is going to have trouble in Nightbane. As such, an extra fee will be charged for being a non-human species. Note that common and rare are in regards to a species native setting. Any racial ability that would be considered an "Overwhelming Advantage" may be disallowed or altered by the setting.
1 EP: A Common Species with no significant bonuses (Example: Elf, Goblin)
2 EP: A Common Species with minor bonuses or special abilities (Example: Wolfen)
2 EP: A Rare species with no significant bonuses (Example: Gnome)
3 EP: A Common species with an ability that might be considered a significant advantage, but not super
3 EP: A Rare Species with a minor bonus or special ability (IE: Ogre)
4 EP: A common species with an ability that might be considered super by other species (Example: Psi Stalker)
4 EP: a Rare species with a significant, but not super, advantage (IE: Troll, Stappra)
5 EP: a common species with an overwhelming advantage (IE: Kreeghar)
5 EP: A rare species with an ability that could be considered super (IE: Psi Ghost)
6 EP: A rare species with an overwhelming racial ability (if they were allowed, the Machine People)

Special: Certain types of character will not be allowed. Shifters, Summoner, and Diabolists, for example, could potentially throw the entire setting out of balance, as could many characters with advanced technical skills. Also note that physical but non-living items from other universes can not be brought into Nightbane. Characters from any other Dimension will find themselves landing in the Nightlands without any equipment if arriving by normal means. Those entering from the Astral or Dream worlds will find their gear left on the Astral or Dream world, though it can be recovered if the character leaves the Nightbane setting.

Addendum 1) The Shadow Warlock has been reassessed and given an EP cost of 5.

Addendum 2) I find the Shadow Mage from Rifts DB15: Secrets of the Atlanteans to be a particularly appropriate class for the setting and would allow it (adjusted for non-atlantean play) for only 3 EP. This cost reflects the difficulty of learning the magic. The summoning spells from the class spell list, however, and the ability to enter the plane of Shadows are not available.
