I plan on going through the records, but if our alternate timelines aren't in sync, what abilities they've got listed in there might not correlate to what you can do now, and it'd be good for you to see what I'm capable of, both on and off of the field. Always good to be prepared with prior knowledge!

Public opinion. Maia thinks scornfully. Who cares what insects think. Then she hears something that actually catches her interest.

The fairy who tricked me. I must return the favor. Rounding on the Atlantean (invisibly), Maia ‘speaks’ in a tight, irritated tone as she asks ”GWENFREY. FAE. WHERE. WHERE?” If Diomedes doesn’t know, or it’s somewhere Maia can’t get to quickly, then she will sort of murmur a growl but settle down, and follow the team leaders into the war room for want of anything better to do. Don’t these people ever go outside?

Clint nods. "We wear the Omega Suit so we're immediately recognizable as law enforcement - though if it impedes your powers, other options are available. Sentinel wears a collar with the locator chip and communicator in it. Just let us know what you need. And yeah, we have some standard issue equipment."

At some point, Clint will show Diomedes to the Armory and get him set up with standard issue gear.

By Odin, not this again... "Please... not more stuff about sandwiches. Maia came tearing through here when we met her demanding sandwiches because some fairy had convinced her they were important."

Clint listens to Crucible's story with interest. This is about the same amount of intel we typically get for our missions. so... this seems much more doable than when Sentinel asked me about his dimensional room thingy. He thinks about the individuals in the video, trying to recall anything he might know about them.

The large man is startled by the sudden voice, but realizing whom it is, he laughs, "Thámnos! You got me again, just like when we'd play hide and seek. You know Gwenfrey? Friend Gwenfrey was the first being I met upon coming to this land. The fairy's help was critical in helping me stop a vampire at an orphanage. I do not wish my friends to be mad each other. Fairies are capricious and prone to pranks its true, but Gwenfrey has shown much loyalty." He chuckles some more adding, "When paid in sandwiches." He activates his supernatural vision so he can see Maia's orb of energy. He turns to face the energy being, "You are welcome to join me if you will behave and be friendly. If you want to play a harmless trick on the fairy, I will not stop you, but I will not allow you to harm Gwenfrey." He turns towards Clint and then back to Maia, "The sandwiches are delicious. Thámnos, was that the trick Gwenfrey played on you? Then telling Gwenfrey that you have found where to get the best sandwiches, will both ruin her joke and please her for agreeing that her favorite restaurant is the best place to get them."

When fighting the undead, I will take any advantage I can including being sneaky, are there versions in darker colors for when they are needed? I think I recall the episode now, I was having trouble remembering.
(Rolls Held Over)
Chastity frowns slightly, "I admit, I may have handled the situation wrong. I saw a chance to get information on our main case by overlooking a lesser case. I think, technically, it is up to the prosecutor to make such judgement calls. To me, the drug dealer was not as important as the murderers, the intention was to have an inside informant by sparing him. Also, if we had made an arrest at that point in time, it would have required diverting resources away from the main investigation. The dealer was apparently also a user, and pretty inept at hiding their activities, that investigation seemed like it could wait. I still have no idea what the right way to handle that situation is..."

Chastity thinks, If we had arrested the drug dealer, we would have had to open an investigation into who they dealt with, who their source was, and spent considerable time and effort. We might not have finished the main investigation. It still seems like the right choice.

Meeting room:

Communications and Mission information:
OOC Comments
From the desk of Bravo leader to all Omegas and Omega Volunteers:

Radio terms to know and how to respond to them:
Combat Comms: Combat only communications
Any non-combat communications, discussions or issues are to be halted and the only combat-relevant information is to be relayed.

Mission Comms:
Any non-Mission communications, discussions or issues are to be halted and the only Mission-relevant information is to be relayed.

Open Comms: Open radio
Any Radio Silence, combat or Mission situations are no longer a priority. it also is a way to tell those on the radio they can continue talking.

Clear Comms: Close Radio
Any and all Radio Communications activity is to cease. This is because either the radio has been compromised or uncertain. it also is a way to tell those on the radio to shut up politely.

Field investigation and Crime scene Management
Photos:
Like all crime scenes take photos of the scene and those around it. In many cases, crooks observe their own work or vigilantes and reporters/Photographers like to snoop. these people are often witnesses. Omegas comm units and spider bots will often have photos from Screen capture on request.

Visual and Audio footage:
The spider bots and some individuals may carry sensors or wear armor with sensors to record both audio and video footage. Many also have enhanced senses to pick details others may miss. Remember and record details if you can. Even the smallest detail can make or break a case.

Spider Cam and drone Footage:
As previously stated spider bots make excellent scouts. I will provide a program to filter spider bot footage to a usable format. The system will be a wrist or belt-mounted unit available on request and standard issue to team leads and XO's. Tech specialists and hackers will also receive these to better use their computers mid-field. See me, your XO, or your team leader for the devices. Your team leader and your XO should be the first two you check with. If neither is available then go to the other team or me.

Evidence management:

Medical and Disaster Management
The first thing all need to be aware of is the Environmental risk. Look around and keep in mind first aid training! A few tips to help you out:
1) Fallen power lines and other chemical hazards are invisible or have no scent so do not charge in and rescue.

2) Record on your comm unit or take quick pics before entering a potentially dangerous area. The use of spider bots to scout can be useful as well.

3) Remember just because you have powers does not mean you are immune to airborne or contact virus, contagious infection (Active or potential) or Chemical exposure. You breathe you can be affected and if that infection can get you. Keep in mind even if unaffected yourself you may spread it out by breathing, contact, and possibly by presence.

4) Remember not all people are immune to your powers..picking up an injured person at high speeds can complicate injuries and kill them just as easily.

5) Be careful and act as you need to with reasonable risk. A rescuer who is incapacitated is of no use to anyone. This means sometimes not acting is your best choice. Be aware, Observe THEN act.
Time to get this team meeting over with. she thinks. with that taps the comm-link "Bravo team if I could have a quick meeting in the meeting room..." and makes her way there. Once all arrive she begins and calls up the Communications and information protocols.

"Welcome all, first off the damage control for the leak in bodycam footage is started. In the meantime, let's try to be careful and make sure we are clear with any police or other law enforcement. If you do not have training or law enforcement training we can fix that. Let me know after the meeting." she then taps a few keys. now the fun part.

"Second on the agenda, I have a list of communications protocols to initiate. I have sent a copy to your emails. On that last mission I left open comms and there was no reaction to a situation. When open comms are left on you should be listening and be proactive. If you hear a villain mentioned respond appropriately. That means it is not always going to be charging in full bore. That last mission I left my comms open and was under the pretense of making a phone call. A good way to approach would have been to ask how my phone call was going. It is a trick my old vigilante crew did. I do not expect this to be 100% so work on this as best you can. It will come in time. for now, let's focus mainly on the 'Radio terms to know and how to respond to them'." the mutant adds.

"Finally, for future reference, we will be making a copy of any and all evidence we download or acquire. The idea being villains do not just stay in one city. If they visit Century station I want us to be ready. The CSPD or others are not always going to be available, able to, or willing to help." Wi-Fi adds, "We will get USB thumb drives and storage medium for our use in cases."

"And training for hovercraft piloting and other skills will be listed. From what I can tell a wide variety of skills and training will be available. including a few of our military-trained people offering PT. I am going to clear up the PT option before making it official." pausing she then finishes looking to Bravo team, "Now if there are questions, comments, or concerns?"

Chastity looks over the agenda before the meeting. The section on radio codes looks useful, though short.

While reading the section on field investigation, she thinks, I will presumably be assigned a Spiderbot, though perhaps I night suggest putting a camera and similar things on a harness for Gearwolf. She notes that the section on evidence management is missing, she will have to ask if they plan to have a class on that, possibly taught by Lenok.

The Disaster management section sounds mostly like common sense precautions.

She already let Wi-fi know about her lack of law enforcement training, but will speak to her again after the meeting as requested.

Making copies is something she was already working on, which is why Sicilia had a copy of the data we picked up in the last investigation.

Training is certainly something to consider, she could stand to know a number of things she never had the chance to learn.

She waits until Wi-fi asks for questions, then says, "I was thinking my ally Gearwolf might be fitted with a camera harness. I was also wondering if we plan to have a class on evidence handling along with out other police classes?"

Chastity lightly pats her strange mechanical dog as she speaks.

The thought of the redundancy of this meeting isn't lost on Leo, everything mentioned in the meeting is basic in the training they should have received already. Radio etiquette, police procedure, law, Piloting lessons, marksmanship training as well as familiarity with the tools of the trade, why would such a essential part of training for the job just be put on hold, ~Why even be put onto the team before the training is done? I can't help but get a gut feeling like they are being set up to fail.~ his thoughts leave him questioning the so called higher ups motives for the organization.

Same As It Ever Was
The Omega Base, Retropolis
Date: Thursday, April 9th, 2043
Weather: Sunny and crisp (62 degrees Fahrenheit)
Time: 10:15 am

Lenok wanders around the Omega Base looking for information on his doppelganger. An attempt to track down Director Balisong ends when an anonymous Sector 10 agent patroling the base points out that she is back at CHIMERA's headquarters. Lenok realizes that she is probably in a meeting with Carla at the moment, discussing damage control on the leaks. So he goes to the Omega Base's garage to find the other Lenok's hover and motorcycle, which were never moved to the new base. But not all is lost, Lenok bumps into Iron Maiden and they bond over their shared love of bikes. As they talk about Lenok's Avtran, Chastity considers what it would take to build one. She realizes that she lacks both the parts and technical know-how to even begin assembling one.

In the common room, Sicilia asks Amanda for a copy of the new report so she can consider the response she makes in the official press release from the Omegas.
Sicilia wrote:If I'm going to be writing it, the sooner I can get access to our team's body cam footage the better. Point me in the right direction there? 'll get this taken care of! Just let me know how soon you want it by, so I can draft accordingly.
"I'll forward you a link to the news report online. You can review it on your tablet," Amanda says, "As for the press release, we should have something sent out by the end of the business day." A little later, Sicilia receives a message from Amanda with the link. She reviews the video and notices the same thing that Iron Maiden did, which is that the all the leaked footage came from Rook's bodycam. The serpent then goes to the garage to interview Iron Maiden, for additional material for the press conference.

Meanwhile, Sentinel and Crucible continue their conversation on magic. After agreeing to join to meet later that night to learn more about Sentinel's contacts, Crucible joins Brute in the War Room. He provides the details on the mission that brought him into Century Station in the first place, and his interest in recovering artifacts from the Bullhead Mafia. Brute hops on to CHIMERA's database and looks up information on the criminals that Crucible identified.

Brute quickly finds several outstanding warrants for Blair Griffith, aka Razor, including a notice from the FBI. He then sees a note from the CIA stating that the Israeli and Jordanian governments would like her detained, and the Syrian government has put out a Red Notice on Interpol. A quick glance at her bio reveals she was Special Forces before defecting to a Syrian group that turned her into a cyborg. Since then she has been freelancing with her partner, Medusa. Other than a name and a few photos, there is little info on Medusa: age unknown; nationality, unknown; affiliations, only Razor. After a little searching, they find a file on U235, born Johnny Taggert. A mutant with the ability to control radiation, he has outstanding warrants in several states, especially his native Tennessee. Like the others, he has no known affiliates, but he has been seen doing work for varying criminal organizations as he continues his cross country crime spree.

Outside, Diomedes suggests getting sandwiches, which immediately gets Maia's attention. She's less interested in exotic meats between artisanal bread than she is in the faerie Gwenfrey. Before they can hit the streets, Brute walks out of the War Room, and he explains to Diomedes what the Omega Suits are for. Thus the new members of Alpha are slowly get to know each other and their roles on the team.

Shortly after 10, Wi-Fi calls Bravo into the War Room to strategize. Once again, she discusses the importance of training. She does not mention investigating who was responsible for leaking the body cam footage. Nor, for that matter, does Iron Maiden mention where the footage came from. For the moment, the investigation has stalled and whoever is working against the Omegas is still out there.

"I was thinking my ally Gearwolf might be fitted with a camera harness. I was also wondering if we plan to have a class on evidence handling along without other police classes?"
"that would be many classes as each city has its own policies. there are however standard procedures all police use and that are more stable. It will be our focus for now. If we know in advance which city or groups work with and then we can get the needed information on policies. a little slower than I would like, but it will do for now. I am open to ideas. and yes you can stap a camera and Omega comm unit on Gear wolf. they should be in the armory or lab." she answers.
”Ms. Wi-fi, I leave myself at your disposal for training.” he says emphasizing training before an ectype appears beside them both.
"I will need help setting up regular training and mock combat as well setting up mock crime scenes. we should be able to do that." she nods, "Can you summon opponents that might help in that regard without harm to your reputation?" she asks looking thoughtful.

"Ironmaiden, you have some expertise. Any ideas to help in any areas I would welcome them." she ask her.

"Any assistance in the area of training would help, Sentinel. We can sort the details out at your convenience. That said the posting for training will be up as soon as I can type up a document. Oh and Scilicia, I may need to be kept up to date on the news media agencies and stations that matter. If you happen to hear anything interesting be sure to mention it. All of the requests of course need not be immediate responses. " she finishes. "Unless there are any further concerns or ideas to add I have covered most of what I needed to say and we are done. "

Post-meeting (once everyone has left):

Now the leak will be another matter. I need to deal with Bravo but I have to be sure who the leak is and even if the leak is on my team. she ponders how. A general witch hunt would be bad for morale and create even more distrust. Ignoring it would be just as bad. A solution for her old leader would be to make an example of one person publicly or punish the whole team and have them sort out the matter in a thieves guild fashion. Both of them not being good ideas for several reasons. the Omegas were not a military organization or a guild of thieves.

She needed an advisor and Info, Like who had access to the footage and the database we keep our suit footage on. There had to be a list of who accessed the system. I also need to put a little dye in the water. Watermarking footage won't be enough. It may spot fake or modified footage. Lenok is new and was not on the mission or even in our dimension when the incident happened. As she taps her radio ahs starts to check for the footage and system access logs of the Omegas. Better to start at home. Then look into the MPD files with help from someone else with authority. Like Agent steel or one of the bosses here. Trent and Carla would not have access to MPD files. Once she has an idea she would call Brute.

"Lenok, If you have a moment, I would like to speak with you in the meeting room." she radios him.

Once he arrives she greets him, "Its good to see you, I noticed you were quiet. I either said the right things or you are concerned. I am curious as to why. But I respect privacy so I won't press you for an answer. I do want you to know if you have anything to say you can speak up. I was a vigilante prior to this job. My group had a prominently military-trained roster. so they were less chatty and more shooting and tactics, less policy. she pauses, "The reason I wanted to talk to you was about the leaked bodycam footage. You mentioned you were an omega in a previous dimension. I remember right a leader? Brute seems to trust a great deal and that is good enough for me. I could use some advice. I need to put a little dye in the water to I need to find a leak." she looks up at him from her chair.

Emperor Qin Chi Zheng requests to know the rank bestowed upon thee so I may use it in honor of your deeds.” Sentinel formally says.
Well, if you were an Emperor, that's not been the case for a very long time Matthew mused, judging by your look, that would make you Chinese and looking very similar to the Terracotta Army. That would mean you are a few thousand years old. Still, he decided to humour Sentinel as he was starting to like the not quite Golem as he'd had to explain to Diomedes the other day.

"Very well Emperor, my rank in the British Military is Leftenant as we pronounce it differently to the Americans. "

Was that saying too much? I don’t know his motives.

"How many dragons are we talking about? And what do we know of their motives?" Matthew leans in close and whispers, "and from your reluctance to say too much, might I suggest this be a conversation that be held at a more discreet venue."

Matthew laughs loudly and broadly at the misunderstanding.

"Sorry, I was assuming you wanted me to meet you after your date., not for the date. I think we'd all find that uncomfortable."

"We can finish this up later Emperor," he says, nodding his head in a slight bow to Sentinel before taking his leave.

Sets the cup down in front of Wi-fi with the flavor changers and sits down, not saying anything for a few moments, very obviously thinking over a response. He sighs before starting "I want to make sure what I am going to say isn't taken as a insult to you or anyone actively on the team, as in actual team members. Maybe one of those "I feel" statements would be the best approach, so let's start there. I feel as if you guys are being short changed, and I'm not sure it isn't on purpose. In no agency, department, or job period in the world, are people sent into work with no training, and then reprimanded later for not knowing the training automatically."

Takes a drink of his coffee before continuing

"I was quiet, yes, cause I wanted to see how the team reacts, my team, was flat out was ridiculous, and not in a good way. I was constantly worried about them, not unlike a father trying to protect his children, we lost a lot of people in a short amount of time, even after training, but that was due to them hating, not wanting to be there, and ignoring orders, and I couldn't blame myself for that any longer when they were all full grown adults. I can't imagine what it's been like for you all."

Begins looking around the room while taking another drink, and starts talking again after a small pause.

"It seems like most of your team actually and genuinely wants to be here and do good for the benefit of the city, and that is a vast improvement over my old team. I didn't feel like I had what it took to lead my team, cause too many of them couldn't get past the fact that it was me that got them conscripted, trying to make sure they followed the law and procedure to make sure criminals couldn't use legal loop holes to get out. Unlike them I was a volunteer and could leave and didn't have to actually be here, I just tried to help, but they didn't want it. This is where I think our paths diverged. It's not me Brute respects, but my doppelganger, he gave up his life apparently trying to do good by the city. I learned people aren't as mysterious as they like to think they are, they will tell you exactly what they think if your listening and watching, it's not hard to pick up on it."

With another gulp from his cup and finishing his coffee, he gets up to throw it in the trash.

"No one on the team intentionally did anything wrong, and intentions are the most important part in any line of work, save for whoever leaked the footage, they're a asshole. I can tell you this, Whatever happens to the team also happens to Balisong, she got chewed out a LOT when my team was active, it showed in a lot of what she did, or does I should say. She is probably the only one of the higher ups here I would trust, as her fate and the teams fate are intertwined, so Us looking bad, makes her look bad. I would ensure she is in the loophole for any evidence, cam footage, cross company and department interactions so she knows exactly who is doing what and when. I have long suspected she is a powered individual, not of the physical type, but of the super "Genius" type. She has the same personality quirks and flaws of every super genius I have ever met, which explains a lot to be fair.

after a moment he smirks and shakes his head while putting his hand to his temples and rubbing them. "As you can see, when you get me started, its not so easy to get me to shut up, these lungs are a lot bigger then they appear"

With Maia's begruding agreement to not kill Gwenfrey, Diomedes dawns his Omega Suit and Omega Kit (How does one carry this kit?). Now looking particularly conspicuous, the True Atlantean makes his way to Big Frickin' Sandwiches.

Upon opening the door, Diomedes says loudly, "Shopkeep! It is I Diomedes, I hope all is well. I have come for sandwiches and conversation. Where is Gwenfrey? I hope my small friend has been dutiful." If Maia decided to join him, he adds, "I have brought someone Gwenfrey has met before, my old...new friend, Thámnos." If any other Omega joins them, he introduces them as well. "Ah, these also are my new friends. They are modest individuals who value their privacy." He uses their code names and points to each of them. "I wish to share the Gwenfrey sandwich with all of them, it is most delicious."

He finds a table large enough for them and sits down, when Gwenfrey appears, he says, "So little one, have you been mostly honorable while I have been away? Tell me of your great deeds protecting this place. Also, when last you visited the park, did you get any sense of evil presences about, I am still hunt for the foe I have been chasing."

Chastity frowns slightly as Wifi appropriates Lenok, but understands that, a the team leader, Wifi has a lot of things to worry about.

She thinks, What would I do if I wanted to find out who was leaking something? Attach a tracker to it, that's what. Put a personal tracking cookie in each suit, embedded into the file in such a way that if you remove it the file is clearly doctored...thus making it possible to claim the file is fake. At the same time, making it obvious where the file has been if it is NOT removed, and make it clear who it came from if it IS removed because it would alter it in a distinctive way.

She will need to look at the suit coding and see how one could insert a tracker, but possibly start with a black-box flowchart of what will be needed for it to work.

Clint scrutinizes the video Crucible shows him.

"Okay - some of these are known criminals in Century Station. that's Blair Griffith AKA Razor, and I'm guessing the snake lady there is Medusa - a known affiliate but one whom CHIMERA doesn't have any data on. And the other is U235, Johnny Taggert, a dude who can control radiation - so... there are some issues with bringing him in. None of these guys are big-time hitters - they do grunt work for others, generally. But it's a good place to start. We can start looking for these guys, and just follow the trail."
Crucible wrote:"You would surmise correctly that there is more to these items. Honestly, I don't know their capabilities. I am sure you've come across compartmentalisation of information before and this is no different. My regiment is liaising with the CSPD though, with only a few people in the loop."
Clint nods. "Of course. That's par for the course for the Omegas, I think you'll find. let's do a little research on them, see what turns up. I would prefer not to walk into a fight blindfolded, if you know what I mean. We can start by searching the history and provenance of that artifact, then search rumors, legends, and theories about the object and its former owners - if they all have the same kind of skills or abilities, then we might be able to make some assumptions about the item. Why don't you and Diomedes work that angle, Barricade and I will see what we can find about the three criminals we have on video, and circle back?"

Lore: Magic 35% 1d100: [80] = 80 (Would this artifact be one Brute might have heard of in his inital studies of magical theory?)
Mythology 40% 1d100: [14] = 14 (does a bracelet of this sort turn up in any of Brute's studies of mythology - if so, what abilities might it have?)

And while we work this case, hopefully Wi-Fi is getting Bravo's shit together. I ... guess I can't be too mad. We trust our comms to be well-encrypted... someone being able to hack our comms, decrypt the video... is not something we'd normally need to worry about. Still, I want everyone going forward to be on their best damn behavior. I guess if Carla needs me to put a face on this fuck-up I will... but I'd like to be able to say we fixed the problem first.

Diomedes wrote:Friend Gwenfrey was the first being I met upon coming to this land. The fairy's help was critical in helping me stop a vampire at an orphanage. I do not wish my friends to be mad each other. Fairies are capricious and prone to pranks its true, but Gwenfrey has shown much loyalty. When paid in sandwiches."
Clint cocks his head. There's a fairy living in Century Station? like... an actual fairy?

"I'll have to meet Gwenfrey at some point. Sounds like a blast."
Diomedes wrote:"I don't believe it will hamper me...they are quite colorful though. When fighting the undead, I will take any advantage I can including being sneaky, are there versions in darker colors for when they are needed? If I am to wear the costume whenever I leave here, I will go don it. If not then some sort of communication device would be great."
"There are other versions that we get when it's mission appropriate, but the blue one we used to have was pretty good on stealth ops. Our new one... not so much."

"The suit does contain a tracker, a radio, and a camera... which was an idea I had that I'm starting to regret... as well as functioning as a suit of light armor. It's also made of a material that adapts as you use your powers. So, for me, it grows as I grow, and gets out of the way when my additional arms grow in. When I turn back into my human form, my suit - if it's still in one piece - does so as well. It's called a "hyper-mimetic" material. It's so sciency it may as well be magic, as far as I can figure." Clint chuckles.

Clint will then call on Barricade, and Diomedes (if Diomedes is still in HQ).

"Gentlemen - Crucible has presented us with a mission I'd like us to explore until Balisong hands us something from the city. Diomedes - you and Crucible will be researching the powers and abilities of a relic he knows of - he will provide you the details. Barricade, you and I will be following leads on Razor, Medusa, and U235 - a trio of super-powered thugs with known contact with that relic. Since these three aren't boss types, we need to know who were they procuring it for, why, and where they and the relic are. We'll reconvene when we have our info, and then plan an op based on what we know. At a minimum I can tell you we will need to prep ourselves for radiation - that's U235's ability. dosimeters, sodium tablets, and we'll have to request HAZMAT gear to cover or wear under our Omega suits (and hope it doesn't get wrecked in the fighting). Let's get to work."

Clint will get to work trying to find information on Razor, Medusa, and U235 - specifically, since they have no known affiliates, trying to find possible locations they operate out of.

Sicilia stares for a moment, processing Iron Maiden's response, before replying directly to her, a touch harshly at first before letting her tone cool off.
First, I should reiterate that we are all recorded while on mission. 'Overlooking a lesser case' does not reflect well with the public, regardless of your intentions. Second, I'm not saying we should have dropped everything to arrest the man on the spot. I think you should have confiscated the material, collected his information, and turned it in to the officers that were with us and moved on with our main duties there. You are right in that we had a larger mission at stake, but taking a few minutes to get a name and basic contact information from him or the secretary wouldn't have compromised our mission, I don't think. Ultimately, it would have been up to the officers to follow up at their convenience. It is their city, and under their jurisdiction, after all.

Sicilia gives a mental sigh. Third, I didn't ask you for an explanation. I asked for an apology. I can use the first part of what you said, but people might take the 'may' out of context, regardless of what you meant by it, and I have to get the press release in by the end of the day, so I don't have much time to edit everything, since I also have to go over recordings and attend the Bravo meeting, so if I can get something more direct I'd appreciate it. The snake tries to keep the request from coming off as a dismissal of Chastity's earlier statement. She has some points, but I think she could do well with taking some time to learn how proceedings work and how the police operate on cases.
--During the Bravo Meeting--

After her talk with Chastity and Lenok, the snake takes the time to collate her notes, before she is inevitably called into the meeting. She enters a touch confused, having found that the footage came from Rook relatively quickly. Am I the only one who's noticed this? I thought someone had said earlier they'd look into the footage. I really wish I had been able to take notes earliler...

She listens, taking notes as she usually does, giggling a bit to herself as she takes note of the communications protocol email. I think I'll have to archive this. CC'ing an email about how to talk on the radio to a person who can't talk via one is pretty good. Still, I'll keep it in case I need to review the terminology. She is a bit frustrated by the meeting, noting that her leader seems bent on not acknowledging or talking about their mistakes previously, and instead focusing on... Copying evidence? PT? Hovercraft training? I thought this meeting was about our last mission, not about future training lessons.

Her features are difficult to read, Sicilia being a snake and all, but her short nod is clearly read once Wi-Fi asks to keep her informed on the media side of things. She makes a note to keep Wi-Fi in the loop, and finally speaks up. Wi-Fi, I appreciate moving forward with an agenda and setting up training for us, but I thought the point of this meeting was to discuss what mistakes were made in the last mission, and what we could do to improve in the future, in private with the team. I was hoping we'd talk more about it than a general, she tabs through her notes to find what her leader had said, '...let's try to be careful and make sure we are clear with any police or other law enforcement.' You can't improve from your mistakes by just waving your tail, or hand, and saying 'I'll be more careful next time.' You need to reflect on what happened, see exactly what you could have done better, and take the lessons to heart.

Sicilia shakes her head with a hiss. But this seems to be a meeting more about the future, and there are some things I think I should bring up. She looks through her notes for a few moments, gathering her thoughts, before 'speaking' once more. In terms of training, I'm a journalist, and have had to learn at least the fundamentals of laws in two countries now, so if anyone needs or wants training on either law or how to present yourself to the public while out on duty, feel free to contact me. If enough people are interested, we can make it a class, of sorts, though I'm not a lawyer or professor, so I can't provide much more than the basics.

The other thing I wanted to mention, she says, looking to Wi-Fi, has more to do with the footage. While reviewing the clips in the news, I noticed something. All of the footage came from Rook's body cam. She doesn't seem like the type to go giving out her feed data, but then I've only known her a short while. It'd be a good idea to talk to her and check to see if her suit has been tampered with in any way, and see if we can figure out what's going on from there on that front.

Once she has said her piece, unless someone responds to her wanting her to reply back, she will let the meeting conclude.

In the meeting:
She waits until Wi-fi asks for questions, then says, "I was thinking my ally Gearwolf might be fitted with a camera harness. I was also wondering if we plan to have a class on evidence handling along with out other police classes?"
"We had a course when I was brought on board and I think it is wise we do that again. a smaller group should go faster this time." she answers Iron maiden, "And yes we can get a harness and camera gearwolf. we have comms we use for guests and those like Sentinel that can not wear omega suits that should work nicely. "Fair question and I will answer as best I can. There was a serious lack of communication and protocol knowledge and lack of sharing that knowledge as needed that was my fault,. Not just to you and the team, the MPD as well. The protocols set out in that email are a step to fix that and reduce the chances I or another member of Bravo repeats that now or in the future. The mistakes I made I will owe up to in time, I think the fact I likely just became 'public enemy' number one to the press is going potentially to make me 'reflect' a lot in the future." she answers plainly, "I should have sent this email out before the mission...not after. I won't make that mistake again. If I had done that the issues and conflicts I had with the MPD would not have happened. I am very aware of how badly I F**ked up in this case, pardon my french."

"I am also keenly aware any mistakes made by the team are ultimately mine to bear. I should have prevented them and I did not. The best way I can own up to them is to fix the problem. Apologies and promises don't fix problems in the eyes of Chimera or the press. Actions do and getting the communication protocol in is a start. If you have any constructive criticism or ideas I am happy to hear them from any of you. You all have my Email you can send them there as well." she answers looking to all of Bravo. Indeed she was keenly aware of the level of error she had made. Had she been a vigilante now she would likely be left for dead or left out in the cold if she was lucky. Depending on the group she could have been shot and left in a ditch...but on to more positive thoughts.

"Yes, this meeting is primarily focusing on the future. That is because I can not change what I did and did not do." she paused, "If you need to get help on the legal and PR tips there are 3 lawyers on the omega staff for tips. To be honest, I think your knowledge base should be enough. A journalist has a good working field basis for law that fits our job. We need a mix of PR and law experience that you have already. Chimera would not want us being full lawyers. That is a long time to keep potential OMEGA's off the field and a full-time university/college course is too costly for our budget. I will add your idea to the shortlist alongside first aid, Firearms qualifications, and a few others I am considering essential." Wi-Fi adds.

"If she were here I would ask her what she thinks. I agree with your assessment of Rook. we already have a few ideas to track the leak. As a hacker, I know just how easy it is to get footage like that if you are determined. Hell, I have done it myself in the past to get footage of villains." Wi-Fi replies.

She already had a plan similar to what Sicilia was proposing and one that was going to need help. Iron Maiden was likely to be recruited to assist her. Wi-Fi's first idea was to see who accessed the footage and would attempt to hack the suits and servers that held the footage. Knowing the time and people would help out shorting the list. At one point in her past, she used a dead/missing/retired person's access and password to get intel. It could be a trick used here. She needed to see Bravo's suit's logs and footage first to get an idea of how this happened.

Post-meeting with Lenok:
Lenok wrote: "I want to make sure what I am going to say isn't taken as an insult to you or anyone actively on the team, as in actual team members.

"Iron Maiden already expressed concerns about evidence handling. I agree we should be doing at least a run-through on what to do. I would like a full course but Chimera is not exactly keen on giving up field time unless it for a good reason. A crash course is probably what we will get but I can hope for the full course Brute and I received.

Lenok wrote:"I was quiet, yes, cause I wanted to see how the team reacts, my team, was flat out was ridiculous, and not in a good way.

"I get that reaction. When I was at the street level my 'unit' as the team lead called had us operate as a military-style squad. for us civilians, we were unhappy and felt like we were second-stringers at first. The Nest, my vigilante group not the data haven run by Motherboard, was quick to teach us and treated us like family. even if a few of them were not fond of me they did their level best to protect us civilians." she pauses looking momentarily sad, "I suppose in a way when they died saving me and three others I still wonder why after all that happened. I did learn one thing that has stuck. a team is like family. So I get ya. I was just worried I might have done something wrong is all." she smiles.

Lenok wrote:"It seems like most of your team actually and genuinely wants to be here and do good for the benefit of the city, and that is a vast improvement over my old team.

"You may be different than your doppelganger in some ways, but the parts that matter seems to be the same. That is the important part." Wi-Fi says, "Clint is the kind of guy to give you a chance to prove yourself. It's why he puts up with my bossy moods, He's one of those people like my uncle was. He could see things in you that you couldn't see in yourself. Apparently, I have a streak of good in me somewhere despite being a 'vigilante' type." she adds with a shrug.

Lenok wrote:"No one on the team intentionally did anything wrong, and intentions are the most important part in any line of work, save for whoever leaked the footage, they're an asshole.

"I should have been more thorough on mission prep and I know that. I presumed the team would keep pace. it was my bad call on that bit. As for the leak, I am reasonably sure it was another source other than the team. I did piss off a whole police force. the MPD aside I need to be sure of who I call out. a lot can go bad if I charge the wrong person. Our Balisong I do rely on to be there for the team. I just hope she doesn't fry my brain for asking." the psychic smirked, "Thanks for the time. If you have any concerns or questions just speak up."

:::Rolls held over:::

Lenok to wifi nods and departs the room, then goes to the kitchen, and starts looking around for food so after his workout he can eat, knowing how much he actually eats, thinking this might not be enough, he may have to go hit a random buffet like usual to get his full for a few days. If anyone tries to talk to him he will stop to converse. He then heads to the gym, remembering Brute saying their equipment could satisfy super strong types work out needs.

He will strip down to just shorts not having any clothing yet, other then what he appeared in and his omega suit which was underneath, he will work out for about a hour unless needed, then shower and re-dress, before going to actually eat. Then he will look up local stores for sales on clothing to try and get some off duty clothes, as well as clothes for stake outs, undercover, etc.
Current Appearance: A 27 year old Japanese/Caucasian male, approximately 5'10" appearing around 180 lbs, dark hair and eyes, wearing a black shirt, jeans, and boots. Appears to be in peak physical condition.

In addition, the super being recognizes enchantment cast upon others (i.e. mystical charms, trances, disguises, etc.), and possession, and can also sense the presence of an enchanted weapon or object that grants its user superpowers or enables its user to cast magic spells, including rune weapons, but again, only when the item is in use or by touch.

That would mean you are a few thousand years old. Still, he decided to humor Sentinel as he was starting to like the not quite Golem as he'd had to explain to Diomedes the other day.

"Very well Emperor, my rank in the British Military is Leftenant as we pronounce it differently to the Americans. "
"How many dragons are we talking about? And what do we know of their motives?" Matthew leans in close and whispers, "and from your reluctance to say too much, might I suggest this be a conversation that be held at a more discreet venue.”

”Leftenant Bennett, my reluctance isn’t with our location, but the uncertainty that surrounds the subject. We don’t know anything about the dragons. There were at least three maybe four that I am aware of. I am uncertain where to begin untangling this mystery. It is not a position I am used to being in.”
Crucible wrote: Sat Nov 13, 2021 3:54 am Matthew laughs loudly and broadly at the misunderstanding.

"Sorry, I was assuming you wanted me to meet you after your date., not for the date. I think we'd all find that uncomfortable."

"We can finish this up later Emperor," he says, nodding his head in a slight bow to Sentinel before taking his leave.
Sentinel joins in on the laugh but not as boisterously due to embarrassment. And I misunderstood. ”Uncomfortable indeed. We will meet this evening for the occult contact. The meeting with Ms. Marsh is tomorrow evening.”

”When will you be ready to proceed with the meet? Sentinel asks.

Once the group splits up, Tom goes into the gym where he manifests two giant energy hands and begins to shadowbox with them, keeping his actual arms close to his side and protecting his broken arm still in the brace. Left jab, left jab, right cross... Right cross, left jab, right uppercut... Left body punch, right body punch, left uppercut... Right uppercut, right cross, left hook... Right cross, left hook, right hook... I think I could do this if need be, if we have to get in a fight before it's fully healed. But what did Matthew say? Healing spells normally don't keep healing over time? I wonder...

However, Clint's call interrupts any further ponderings on Tom's part as he stops his vicarious workout and heads into the War Room with his arms folded across his chest and the giant energy fists on his hips. "You rang, chief?" He asks as he nods to Matthew and Diomedes (if he's there).

Tom raises an eyebrow. "Detective work, is it? Well, random citizen, former Officer Cassidy of the Richmond PD stands ready to assist you..." he adds with a chuckle as he salutes with one of the energy fists before dispelling both of them. "Before we get started, what can you tell me about this 'relic' of yours, Matthew? How big, what it looks like, whatever it's called, that sort of thing. If we search for any references to items matching the description of the relic we might uncover leads on the hired thugs and vice versa." He takes some notes as Crucible describes the relic (assuming he does, or at least as much as he can) and winces slightly when he sees a visual ID of Medusa. "Oy. They say beauty is skin deep, but that kind of ugly goes straight to the bone. No way she's going to remain inconspicuous in this town."

He slides into one of the seats and starts scrolling through searches. "I'm assuming CHIMERA and CSPD shares databases, right? So that's got both those bases covered. We'll probably need to pull in Federal sources as well -- FBI, NSA, SATAR, whoever else we might have reciprocal access to -- and Interpol probably wouldn't hurt either. And do we have access to Grammercy Island files?"

After a few minutes searching away for leads/reviewing the video he suddenly asks without looking up, "So... refresh my memory, chief. Did you ever mention how you and the terracotta cavalry met up with Ronith? I can't remember you giving more than just the bare essentials."

Honey, I Blued Up the Team
The Omega Base, Retropolis
Date: Thursday, April 9th, 2043
Weather: Blue skies, and ceilings, and walls, and everything (62 degrees Fahrenheit)
Time: 10:45 am

Wi-Fi wraps up the Bravo squad meeting by finalizing plans for future training. As she is leaving the room she pulls Lenok aside to talk about the state of the team. Lenok reassures her that chaos is normal for a team with such high turnover and that no one on the Omegas is actively sabotaging their work. Reassured, Clarica heads to her room, where she does some investigative work.

She sits on her bed, and pulls out her field computer and watches the leaked body camera footage. She figures out that it came from Rook's Omega Suit. However, that raises another question: how did it get loose to the public? She goes on to the Omega Base's server and starts to review login data.* She notices three things: first of all, as the head of Bravo squad, she can view who is logged in to the Omega Base's network; secondly, at any given time there is one Sector 10 agent monitoring all computer activity from the basement; and finally, bodycam footage from the Omega Suits can only be uploaded to the base's server from the computer in the armory, it is one of three computers in the base with the proper software to do so (the others being in the War Room and the R&D lab). Before she can look at the login records in any further detail she sees an alert flash on her computer screen. Someone is improperly accessing the Omega Suits from the computer in the armory. Then she hears explosions running though the entire base.

Meanwhile, in the War Room, Brute and Crucible continue to investigate the villains who were smuggling relics for the Bullhead Mafia. They are soon joined by Barricade, and between the three of them, they think they have a few leads.** Brute cannot find out where Razor and Medusa fled to, but he learns more about why they were in Century Station in the first place. The Diadem of Hermaphroditus was held in the National Museum of Cypriot Antiquities until the two stole it in a brazen daylight robbery. INTERPOL suspects that they planned the heist on their own, but did so with a buyer in mind. It is currently being analyzed by mages at M16. Barricade has similarly little luck finding out where Razor and Medusa ran off. He gets the sense that they are on their own, since he sees chatter that the US government, the Syrians, the Cypriots, former fellow Special Forces turned costumed vigilantes, the Greek Syndicate, and now the Bullhead Mafia all are gunning for them. At least he has a beat on U-235. Apparently he has been seen around southern Hannigan. The Bullhead Mafia has at least one warehouse in the area for storing stolen goods, but its address is unknown. Barricade calls Brute and Crucible over to see the reports, when suddenly the room is filled with blue smoke.

After the meeting, Iron Maiden had gone straight to her room to look at the Omega Suit and figure a way of tracking bodycam footage. She immediately plugged her suit into a laptop. While she could access some of the basic diagnostic info on the suit, to really work with the suit's software she needed to use the computer in the armory. She took her suit there, logged into the console, and then plugged in her suit. Only admins can access the suit's source code, so Iron Maiden decided to try and create a dummy account and hack her way in. This is what sent a security alert throughout the Omega Base, and activated the the anti-tampering devices in all the Omega Suits.

Diomedes only makes it two steps out of the Omega Base before his brand new Omega Suit is ruined. Lenok is hopping out of the shower when he hears a loud pop that turns the few articles of clothing he owns blue as well. From outside Maia can see an unnatural chemical cloud filling the Omega Base. All the Omega Suits in the Armory are set off as well filling the room with a choking blue smoke that covers every piece of equipment inside. Iron Maiden is knocked to the floor by the blast and turns completely navy.

As Iron Maiden gets to her feet four Sector 10 agents storm into the armory, weapons drawn. Gizmo walks in behind them, hand on his hip, and powdered a light blue from walking through the cloud produced by the dye packs. Gizmo looks down at Chastity and sighs. "Stahn the fook down!" he shouts at the CHIMERA agents. Then, to Iron Maiden he says, "What did ye think woad happen the second time ye futzed 'round w' the suits?"

This is followed by a string of profanity, some of it in English some in Gaelic but all largely incoherent, as Gizmo explains why you do not tamper with the Omega Suits. Aside from being highly technical pieces of hardware, they were embedded with a specialized proprietary software designed by Whiz Kid. This is not something that anyone can idly pick up and re-engineer, and it is definitely not something that can be hacked. When someone tries to hack the suits from the console in the armory the system believes that all the suits have been compromised. As a result, the anti-tampering dye packs in all the suits were activated simultaneously, covering the Omega Base in a blue mist.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

* You need to specify how Wi-Fi is using these skills. In particular, what is Wi-Fi hacking, what program is she developing, is she actually fixing a piece of hardware, or how is the law or finance relevant in any way? The only skill I looked at for this action was computer operations, which was more than adequate for looking at the Omega Base's database.
** I'm considering the successful skill rolls for Brute and Barricade together to give you all the information you can expect on Medusa, Razor, and U-235.

Looking all around as the base is painted blue, he steps back into the shower and repeats the wash, and grabs one of the now blue towels and his clothes and starts washing them the old fashion way in the shower too, and continues until they are all paint free regardless if they are now stained blue. ~I am starting to think these bunch is as bad as my own, or they are all a bunch of kids who were aged superfast and still in that delinquent malicious compliance stage. Though I do kind of want to see how many smurfs we have now and if the snake looks like a blueberry noodle.~

Upon finished his back to back showering and washing he will ring out his clothes and spin them around using his strength and speed not unlike a spin cycle dryer, and then put his damp clothes on, being better than nothing, thinking if he flies around town to the store to get more clothes at least they will be dry when he lands.

Walking around the base taking in all the blue views. ~I am a detective and now everything around here is blue, this reminds me of that old kids tv show I watched to learn English when I first got here with the annoying guy in the striped shirt and blue cartoon dog.~

Clint nods, as they both work their respective databases to find intelligence on Razor, medusa, and U235. "Well... a man met us in the corridor by the bedrooms. I didn't even have a moment to think maybe he was an intruder - no alarms had gone off, he wasn't hostile. He reached out, shook our hands, and that was that. We were suddenly in a bar in Asgard. We later learned he'd been told to collect the two of us specifically - it was no accident - and that he was Loki."

"It was us and a bunch of strangers in that bar, including two elves. One was Ronith, the other was named Tyral. Almost all of us from different places. Later on discovered that other Omegas had been collected for missions as well - only they didn't make it back. Presence and another guy. Ronith made it out with us, though, so I have every reason to believe he's back home, wherever home is, still alive and fighting the good fight."

Clint stands, strides to the door and opens it, hearing profanities coming from the armory. He goes to investigate.

Futzed with the... Was Iron Maiden trying to access a suit computer? And somehow triggered all the suits' defense systems? For Odin's sake...

Struggling to find words, he looks to Gizmo, then to Iron Maiden. "I... I just..." He clamps his mouth shut, not willing to say something he'll regret, and storms off back to his chamber, muttering obscenities under his breath. He slams his door shut, peels off his painted suit and tosses it in the hamper, and hops into the shower, hoping that the blue paint washes off.

His thoughts, as he scrubs, are not fit for polite company.

Maia is out in her garden when she notices something happening inside HQ. Blue. Strange insect chemicals. An attack! Jumping to the obvious conclusion, Maia begins pulling in vegetation from around her to create a new body. If none of the other Omegas or support staff disabuse her of the notion within 1d4: [4] = 4 melees she will stand in full plant form in the garden. Then, she will take a moment to activate first her crystal armor, followed by a strange energy aura. The aura takes the outline of a leopard or panther- some sort of large predatory cat- and inside it Maia’s physical form shifts in small ways. Her stance changes from bipedal to quadrupedal, as she stands within the energy aura, and her plant-limbs alter in subtle ways to more closely resemble the musculoskeletal structure of an animal moving on all fours. Her face changes a little, slightly- the plants making up her equivalent of a nose and mouth protrude slightly, forming more of a felinoid snout than a flattened human mouth and nose. When her augmentations are complete, Maia looks down at herself, and nods in satisfaction. The Life continues to adapt.

Then Maia charges the nearest entrance to HQ. She will at least attempt to go through a door, instead of bursting through a wall, but she isn’t terribly concerned with leaving it intact so much as she is with stopping the attack as soon as possible. After Maia sets her prodigious strength to bursting through the door, she charges inside and casts about for the threat, her aura’s energy claws scoring the floor (along with anything else they come into contact with). Seeing no immediate threat, Maia bellows ”ATTACK! COME. INTRUDERS. FIGHT!” When none are forthcoming (and if anyone actually explains what is happening) Maia aura and armor will snap off, and she will revert to a slightly more human-looking plant-form. Then she will return to the garden- almost sullen over the lack of anything to fight- and resume her impatient garden-tending (in her new body for the time being, at least).

(Rolls carried over)

As Clint is stalking off, covered in blue paint, to his room to clean up, he sees Maia entering.
Maia wrote:”ATTACK! COME. INTRUDERS. FIGHT!”
He sighs. "Thank you Maia, but it isn't an attack. It's just..." He trails off.

Ineptitude? An accident? ...Does it even matter?

He shrugs and moves on.

Chastity frowns and mutters, "I should change my code name to Iron Smurfette, I spend so much time in blue."

She is rather impressed a the security on the suits though, she was not even trying to hack it yet, just trying to figure out the coding structure so that she could see if there is a way to make it o that any attempt to edit the bodycam footage would be obvious, making it easy to prove it was an edit.

She will explain to Gizmo, "I was trying to see if there was a way to make it harder to download and doctor the footage from the cams. Perhaps we need to get Whizkid here to help us figure out how it was done."

Diomedes is at the outer door of the Omega Base when Brute says there is work to be done. Ah Gwenfrey, it does not look like I get to check up on you today. He looks back at Maia, a quirky smile on his face, "It looks like you will have more time to figure out the details of the prank you wish to play, Thámnos. Brute says I am to meet with Crucible about some magical trinket we need to identify and locate before it falls in the wrong hands. The day isn't over yet, there may still be time for you to crush some annoying 'insects.'" Then, he hears a click and a beep and cloud of blue envelopes him.

Clothing never lasts, thinks the Undead Slayer. Though, this is a new one as he gazes at his blue reflection in the window glass of the Omega Base. With a sign, he removes the Omega suit. He courteously, takes it to the nearest trash can and drops it in. Then naked as a (blue) jaybird, he walks back to his quarters and showers. The blue dye rinses cleaning off of his tattoos, the inherent magic preventing it from sticking. The rest of his skin is not so lucky.

When he's finally done, a pastel blue Diomedes gets dressed in pair of jeans and a polo shirt stretched to it's limits.
He looks for Matthew. "Ah my friend, what is that we must find?" Diomedes listens to Crucible's information on the Diadem of Hermaphroditus, reviewing any pictures and/or documentation he provides. If this is his past, it's possible he might recognize the magical item from a historical perspective.

He reached out, shook our hands, and that was that. We were suddenly in a bar in Asgard. We later learned he'd been told to collect the two of us specifically - it was no accident - and that he was Loki."
"So the old 'you meet in a bar' trope, was it?" Tom chuckles. "You tell Clerica about that yet? Sounds like something she'd do in one of her D&D games. I'm sure she'd get a good laugh out knowing that sometimes reality actually does imitate fantasy..." he clears his throat. "No wonder you're on board with the Norse gods; I'd imagine that shaking hands with the legendary god of mischief and winding up in Viking Heaven would probably make a believer out of me too."
Brute wrote: Fri Nov 19, 2021 7:27 am"It was us and a bunch of strangers in that bar, including two elves. One was Ronith, the other was named Tyral. Almost all of us from different places. Later on discovered that other Omegas had been collected for missions as well - only they didn't make it back. Presence and another guy. Ronith made it out with us, though, so I have every reason to believe he's back home, wherever home is, still alive and fighting the good fight. When it was all said and done I made the whole group of them honorary Omegas. Sentinel gave them some of his extra comms so if they ever find themselves in Century Station in our timeline or whatever, they can reach out."
Tom nods. "Well, as near as I could tell MercTown was where Paducah, Kentucky is now. Whether that's 'now' as in 'our future' or 'now' as in 'another dimension,' I have no idea. I'd prefer to think the latter, but either way wherever ol' Lancelot is at the moment I think 'fighting the good fight' is a pretty safe bet. This time yesterday I'd have told you there's practically zero chance we'd ever hear from him again... but with an honest-to-goodness Undead Slayer joining the roster today..." he shrugs. "Not that I'd mind seeing him or any of the other Heroes for Hire again... especially..." he sighs and lets the statement hang in the air. Go ahead and say it, Tommy. That hottie mutant rabbit girl. Say it out loud.

"Samantha."

He clears his throat. "Anyway... yeah... nothing about Razor and her snakey gal pal's whereabouts, but sounds like they're the ones who stole the relic and according to the chatter everybody and their brother's hunting for them as well. U235, on the other hand... I think we've got a lead. Come take a look."

Almost as soon as he gets the words out of his mouth, Clint's Omega Suit explodes in a cloud of blue dye. Tom gets a face full and immediately begins coughing so hard he almost passes out. What in cornbread hell? Freaking lung mutation; docs said I had to be careful with gasses and dust clouds... He recovers in time to see Clint storm out heading towards the armory and follows along where he sees armed guards and Gizmo weaving a verbal tapestry of obsenity in Chastity's general direction. Wait, what? She was trying to 'hack' the Omega suits? Well that at least explains the dye clouds. Now I know how a bag of stolen money feels.

"In hindsight, that might should have been the first thing to do..." Tom grunts out in between coughs. "Though I take it I wasn't the only one who didn't know our suits were booby-trapped." After a few more coughs he seems to finally recover as he looks back and forth between Gizmo and Brute. "Just a thought -- Our body cameras. Do they record to memory cards or do they broadcast live streaming? If the suits react that way to someone trying to make physical contact to download video directly, I think you can rule out someone trying to jack into them unless someone's actually got close enough to a Bravo team member to try. I used to know a thing or two about broadcast communications; it might be worth looking at how someone could have been snooping in on your comm signals instead."

Elsewhere at the same time.

Seeing her five robot spiders' bellies get a free paint job made her jump. the Fab Five were sticking to the front of the suit for some reason then flew off of it. There was no damage and the eyes of the bots were not covered so all was well. The wall was fortunately blue. looking at the now blue-bellied Stubby she shrugged. "I'll check that the paint did not get inside your shells after. right now I need to find out why my suit's anti-tamper went off. you five stay in here. as she says this the five little bots went back to exploring and securing her room and their usual hijinks. one day she found them practicing acrobatics and rescuing each other. it was this sort of teamwork that they displayed that had her curious. If they could do that what else was a Dumb AI program capable of?

"Gizmo, we have leaked camera footage. All avenues of possibility need to be checked. It was a good place to look. That said, Chastity next time try hacking an isolated suit from or ask about the suit, and Gizmo or myself should be able to help." Wi-Fi says looking at the blue paint a moment.

"Is the suit supposed to set off the networked suits? if not you might try and work that into an anti-capture method activated by a suit with an override trigger built into it using the wrist comp and some software changes. Most things can be killed with explosives or stopped by gas/knock-out chemicals. A prisoner suit to be used on shape-shifters and other matter-changing types to keep them in line. It might be a nice use for the people at Gramercy. Just make sure it does not affect the guards in the process." she adds, "As it is I have need of Chastity's talents for the moment."
She will explain to Gizmo, "I was trying to see if there was a way to make it harder to download and doctor the footage from the cams. Perhaps we need to get Whizkid here to help us figure out how it was done."
"Whizkid probably has better things to do like save the galaxy or something equally grand. I think I know how they got the footage. As I was about to catch the illegal access when my suit painted the 'fab Five' spider bots belly's blue. I'll be sure to let you know anything I find, Gizmo." she says "I could use your help. for the moment you're with me. I have a lead. as they walk she updates her on all she learned or confirmed. as she did she wondered why the spider bots did as they did. Eh, AI dumb or not still had variables and metadata mutation. but the Fab Five were not the immediate concern. They would need security upgrades software-wise though in light of this new situation. She did want to test this new knowledge in her head as well.

she pauses and says to Gizmo if he is still there, "Gizmo, no system is 'unhackable' so don't put too much stock in that idea. As for the Omega suit, it is pretty solid work. I was wondering if I could get some of the material it was made for that project of mine in an ultra-light harness. I can use Kevlar or nylon. but it's not as nearly as durable or damage resistant. I can order most of the parts and personally pay for them. I just need the Motion and vibration sensors strips which the CSPD and CHIMERA should have in spades if they are as half as prepared as I think they are. and don't worry it's not beyond my ability to repair or build. she continues.

"As the head of Bravo squad, I can view who is logged in to the Omega Base's network. So I thought I would look for who accessed the data stored here. At any given time there is one Sector 10 agent monitoring all computer activity from the basement. Turns out bodycam footage from the Omega Suits can only be uploaded to the base's server from the computer in the armory, the War Room, and the R&D lab. If they are illegal we will be able to track them easier. If they are using a currently active person's account or a dead/no longer active person we will know." she accesses the armory terminal and logs in to see the logs and find the hacker.

"This terminal should do nicely. Let's see if we can solve this mystery. Who are you, 'Ghost in the machine'? Chastity, I need you to observe the code and cover my back. record all you can." she selects one nearby. She did not know what hardware the hacker was using, or methods and kept an open mind. now the fun part.

He knew he wasn't much of an investigator, but that was an impressive list of current enemies. MI6, yeah right, still not really admitting to MI13 existing then. he notes to himself.

"The diadem they no longer have, but there were other items, less obviously taken, but looks like they are isolated from various groups including their buyers. That leaves them in a vulnerable position.

"If we have anything belonging to either of them..." he begins as suddenly the base is filled with blue smoke. WTF he exclaims mentally, before prepping various spells for defense and offense. Thankfully, he only wears the Omega Suit on mission as it makes no difference to his abilities otherwise. However, when Brute doesn't immediately go into Hulk mode, he realises something else is wrong. Following his commander out, he finds Gizmo ripping Iron Maiden a new one.
