Background Story

Macher was born at Ft. Campbell, KY to Cpt. Benedict Macher and Rachel (Keating) Macher. Growing up, Macher moved from post to post following his father's career in the Special Forces. It was never in doubt he would become a military man. One piece of stability he held to was spending the summers in Morton, MN where his mother's parents lived. He spent the summers hunting, fishing, and hiking the woods. Two years ago his parents moved to Morton when his father retired from the military. Currently Macher's father and grandfather lead fishing and hunting expeditions.

At the time of the cataclysm Macher was assigned to Lt General Sawyer's group in Atlanta. Currently he is on the convoy to Chicago. What happens then is anyone's guess.

Macher is pragmatic. While rifts, magic, demons, and monsters are strange and unnerving, they are the enemy. His job is to survive and protect innocents from the enemy. So long as he has this duty he will continue, regardless of the outcome......thank goodness he played a lot of video games and Palladium Games role playing games in high school. He has some guesses on what needs to be done to combat these threats.
