If supernatural evil feels persecuted, you can bet the Templar are responsible.

Jason Long: Recognize Weapon Quality (Assess Victor's gear): Not a particular connoisseur of diving equipment, Jason is certain that Victor’s dive suit is of solid industrial quality, good enough for some danger, but not up to the rigors of real battle.

Victor doesn’t seem too phased by the eclectic nature of the Templar, and just listens to the group speak their peace. Victor seems to mull over how to answer the questions presented, before speaking.

”Well, that answers a few questions I may have had about you and yours.” Victor says with a soft chuckle. ”We’re an aquaponic farm, the station is about seven hundred feet below us. We sell food stuff and a few other sundries mostly, but I’m sure if you can sweet talk Gwen, she might be able to help do some repairs on your armor. As for charts, we’d have to look at them, but I’m sure we can help update them.” Victor says, pausing to look out over the ocean for a moment. ”Sorry I don’t get to surface much. Normally, for food, we’d just take an order, do payment and ship it up here, but for the rest, you’re going to have to come down. For that we have two options, if you have hardened dive suits, we can swim down, or I can call up the sub to transport you below.” Victor says in his odd accented American.

Rory and Murdoc quietly talk with Rufus, while the others kind of watch. Jessie looks to the group. ”I’m going to take my rest now, you guys have fun.” The Valkyrie says as she makes her way down into the crew compartment of the ship.

Victor looks at the group. ”So what will it be?” He asks, seemingly genuinely curious. In the background the sky continues to darken, while the waves gently lap at the plates of the platform. Deep below a soft glow can almost be seen.

Well my armor is pretty tough, but its not especially made for diving and 700 feet is awfully deep Jason thinks, glancing over the Templar.

"Thank you for the offer, Victor. I'm not sure of the depth rating of our gear, so the offer of the sub would be most appreciated." While Victor calls for the sub, Jason rounds up the magazines for the particle wave rifles and puts them in his waterproof bag. He slings the damaged rifle comes back on deck. He surreptitiously watches Victor for any reaction to the rifle. He waits for the sub with the others.

"Agree, My suit was damaged as well. Pretty sure it is no longer watertight or even rated for amphibious duty, to begin with. Let me grab a couple of light items first." she goes on board to grab one of the non-damaged energy rifles to see what they would go for. Teres would take them in the chance they did. Spare weapons never hurt. and one as trade or sale would be nice. she thinks as they were being packed by her. Teres was taking her bow and a quiver, as well as typical gear with her.

In truth, she was just happy to get off the boat for a bit. This was also a chance to see if the ocean had any life worth the risk of drowning. If anyone knew it would Victor and his fellow colonists. If there was interesting life this ocean may be worth exploring after all.

"Victor, you said you don't get to see the surface a lot. Is that because the surface is dangerous or your work keeps you underwater?" she asks as she waits on the rest.

Rory laughs as she steps forward.

"Oh, a sub ride fer me, if I may. Me armor is not water tight at all, so I do have some pretty serious reservations about tryin' ta get down to 700' in it."

She has her Nuhr rune musket slung across her back, and her vibroaxe hanging from her belt.

"On the good side, it's not like I take up a lot o' space."

She looks out across the sea, away from Victor.

"I love this place, the space, and the speed o'things."

She turns back to Victor.

"What's it like underwater? And fer that matter, why build the station underwater? It's not like it's a natural location fer humans, so I figure there's gotta be a reason to build down there rather than somewhere on the surface."

Rory.

Victor shrugs as if the offer isn’t a big deal. He begins to put his helmet back on.
Teres Barton wrote:"Agree, My suit was damaged as well. Pretty sure it is no longer watertight or even rated for amphibious duty, to begin with. Let me grab a couple of light items first... Victor, you said you don't get to see the surface a lot. Is that because the surface is dangerous or your work keeps you underwater?"
Victor looks at Teres for a moment, seemingly confused at the question. ”We’re an underwater farm, makes sense to live close to the farm.” Victor says as he seals his helmet.
Rory wrote:"Oh, a sub ride fer me, if I may. Me armor is not water tight at all, so I do have some pretty serious reservations about tryin' ta get down to 700' in it... It's not like it's a natural location fer humans, so I figure there's gotta be a reason to build down there rather than somewhere on the surface."
Victor looks at Rory. ” Underwater is nice, for the most part, but it seems to me that you folk haven’t experienced life in anything but a land based situation. You’re gonna find a lot happening beneath the waves as it’s necessary for things to run.” Victor says, pausing for a moment. ”Be back in twenty minutes.” Victor says as he dives back in the water and begins to swim down. Leaving the Templar by themselves once more. Jason and Teres grab some things, Jason finds the idea of slinging the broken rifle hard as it’s in two pieces, so into the back it goes, while Teres grabs another rifle, missing it’s clip as all of them went into Jason’s bag.

Twenty or so minutes later a vehicle surfaces next to the platform. It doesn’t resemble any of the submarines that Jason has ever seen in the past. It more resembles a large van or box truck, than anything else. Once surfaced the side door opens, and Victor appears at the entrance. ”All aboard.” He says before heading back into the vehicle. Inside the group finds a simple affair with jump seats mounted to the side of the hull. Once everyone is onboard, the door closes and the vehicle begins its descent. The group can’t see anything as there are no viewports in the cargo area they are seated in. About ten minutes later, the vehicle seems to come to a stop, and Victor steps from the crew compartment. ”And here we are, Pamu Station.” Victor says as he opens the door and allows the group to see that they’re in some manner of hanger, though open to the world at the bottom.

Victor leads the group out of the vehicle and onto the deck. ”Some of you wanted to see if you could get repairs, so I’ll introduce you to our engineer, and you can discuss that with her. And the others who wanted charts, I’ll bring you to the command center.” Victor says before leading the group through a series of halls and rooms. The environs are clean and brightly lit, a dozen or so people, mostly humans, but also a few fish/man hybrids, in similar suits as Victor can be seen moving about doing whatever tasks they’re at. Every so often the group gets a view outside where the ocean floor can be seen, and it is a pretty landscape of sea life, plants and coral dominate the view, with smaller fish visible occasionally.

Soon enough, Victor stops the group in an area that appears to be an office, cluttered with tools and a variety of materials. Behind the desk is a red headed woman, soldering some wiring on a small circuit board. ”Maddi! I have some visitors who want some work done.” Victor says, Maddi for her part looks up from her work and seemingly gives Victor a death glare, before it softens and she turns her attention to the Templar. ”Hey there, what can we do for you?” Maddi asks, her accent soft and barely noticeable.

"Thanks for the assist, Victor." Victor leaves she says to him as he leaves, "Maddi, good to meet you. Names Teres, by the way." The psi-druid says, "If you have time, we have armor that has some damage, and if you know anything about weapons. A few rifles we picked up off some raiders we ran into earlier. One of them was damaged badly, but I have one of the working models with me. anything you know could be of help. and I am sure we can part with one or two if you are interested." she unslings the rifle and offers it to Madi in a safe manner, "One of the other templars has the magazines. We were curious if you could repair or use the parts of the damaged rifle and charge the magazines for us. We also have some other magazines that may need charging." she says awaiting a reply. If she offered some trade it might help get vital repairs they needed.

Mini-Update
Teres Barton wrote:"Thanks for the assist, Victor."

Victor nonchalantly shrugs in response.
Teres Barton wrote:"Maddi, good to meet you. Names Teres, by the way... If you have time, we have armor that has some damage, and if you know anything about weapons. Maddi looks at the Nau'Tyll rifle and shakes her head. "Nothing I can do with those, they use some sort of alien tech, I am unfamiliar with. I've looked at a few of their things up close before, while they seem to use the same basic principles of native technology, the materials are the odd thing and are generally incompatible with our tech. Also we don't produce an excess of power for the purposes of recharging e-clips, so I can't help you there." Maddi says.

"As for armor repairs, I may be able to help you, but only so much. Our supplies are not exactly flush. How much damage would need to be repaired." Maddie asks, looking at the groups armor from her desk. "We're really a farm, so these aren't really services we offer normally, hence me looking angrily at Victor." Maddi says with a smirk.

Armor repair price
1 M.D.C. of repairs will run 2,000 credits, with a limit of 30 M.D.C. max for the group.

He smiles and turns to Victor, his eyes glancing at Jason for a second, "You're not wrong. We mainly operate on land, but I've had an op or two that were river or lake based. This is the first time many of us have been out to sea." He looks around at the facility in general, "An underwater farm still seems weird to me. Even though I'm standing in it. You said you produce mainly food. Who are your buyer's?"

Murdoc looks around again not quite sure if he should be in awe or suspicious of the place, "We were told to be on the look out for some sort of floating city. Have you ever seen something like that? I'm guessing not, since you spend so much time down here."

Murdoc continues to look around, Frak, I'm just not sure about this place and if we have to evac, I have no clue if my armor will hold up at this depth. Frak, I almost wish I brought the Roadrunner. It could take the depth. At least that's what the manual says.

Jason considers the offer and shakes his head. "Don't be too mad at Victor. He was just trying to be helpful. My gear is ok for now. Thanks you for at least looking at the rifle. It was unlike anything I've ever seen. " Jason looks around and nods with a smile when Murdoc mentions how odd an undersea farm sounds. Since Murdoc is speaking with Victor, Jason continues speaking with Maddi.

"Do you know of any settlements or facilities in the area that might be able to recharge the clips or work on the rifle? One of the things I mentioned to Victor before we came down is updating our charts. They are quite old and have very little detail. For example, all it told us was that there was something called Pamu Station here. It didn't tell us that it was a farm. So if you have any insights into what any of these locations are, we would be most grateful. Also if there are any areas we should avoid."

When Jason hears Murdoc mention the floating city, he watches for any reaction from Maddi. Lets see what you know and if you have any strong feelings about it..

If Maddi can help with the charts or points him to someone who can, Jason carefully notes anything on their charts and asks for details about every location; type settlement, size, facilities (food, drink, markets, repairs, power, etc) affiliation, and how they will react to strangers sailing up.

I'll snag what repairs the rest don't use in repairs. 'needs most get firsties'. Yes, thanks for the info on the rifles. never ran into one personally either." she says slinging the rifle. It did not get missed on her that one of the mages might be able to charge them. always ask, you never know what the person did before being a farmer. Old soldiers took up all sorts of trades. adventurers were no different in that they needed to retire as well.. she thinks. With the rest covering the other needs Teres lets them manage that angle.

Rory smiles at Maddi.

"If there's anything I can do ta help ye, I'd be glad ta. Trained as an engineer, amongst other things. Mostly mechanical, but I did me time on electrical work as well."

She hangs her head a bit.

"Though, ta be honest, I weren't the most studious in me class. Did as much time in the vehicle workshop as I did studying blueprints and doin' optimal flow calculations an' crap."

She laughs a little, looking abashed, and liftgs her head again.

"Probably why I did mechanical engineerin' as well as electrical engineering classes. Though I mostly started on the electronic engineering because that let me play on the computers, an' repairin' computers was fun. Ended up being better at the electronics than I was at the computer repairs, and 'cause I loved doin' vehicle work, I went back to mechanical engineerin' again."

She shrugs.

"Love me some engineering and repair work, but I'm a bit out of practice takin' the lead on such things. So if there's anything I can do ta help..."

Her energy runs out at that point, and she stops talking.

Rory.

Jason Long: Interrogation (watching for Maddi's reaction to Murdoc mentioning the floating city): If Maddi has a reaction it’s unperceivable, Jason is sure that the woman is paying zero attention to anything outside the room.
Leo Milton: No skills used.
Rufus: No skills used.
Travis Murdoc: No skills used.
Teres Barton: No skills used.
Rory: No skills used.
Father Josiah Reno: No skills used.
Murdoc declines on the armor repair and moves to just outside the room to talk to Victor who is not in the room for his own safety.
Murdoc wrote:"You're not wrong. We mainly operate on land, but I've had an op or two that were river or lake based. This is the first time many of us have been out to sea... An underwater farm still seems weird to me. Even though I'm standing in it. You said you produce mainly food. Who are your buyer's?.. We were told to be on the look out for some sort of floating city. Have you ever seen something like that? I'm guessing not, since you spend so much time down here."
Victor nods. ”Locals occasionally, we mostly bulk ship our goods back to our company headquarters back on Tritonia.” Victor says almost clinically. At the question of floating cities, Victorcocks his head to a slight angle. ”Gonna have to be a bit more specific, there are a few that I am aware of, though I could only roughly tell you where one is.” Victor says.
Jason Long wrote:"Do you know of any settlements or facilities in the area that might be able to recharge the clips or work on the rifle? One of the things I mentioned to Victor before we came down is updating our charts. They are quite old and have very little detail. For example, all it told us was that there was something called Pamu Station here. It didn't tell us that it was a farm. So if you have any insights into what any of these locations are, we would be most grateful. Also if there are any areas we should avoid."
Maddi looks at Jason, from the look he can tell she’s not a fan of being asked a bunch of non-specific questions. With a sigh she begins to answer. ”Best bet is either somehow become very cool with the Nau’tyll, which I do not think is possible, or maybe try the Junkcrab flotilla, they’re crazy enough to likely figure this stuff out. As for recharging clips, or specifically those ones. Either Sunnoco Village, or the Flotilla. I mean I could do it, but we’re not running on an excess of power, that’s why I can’t. I’m sure there are a few other places, but you’ll have to talk to the Farm Manager, they have a better understanding of what is going on around here, same for your charts, they’d be the person to talk to.” Maddi says.
Teres Barton wrote:"I'll snag what repairs the rest don't use in repairs. 'needs most get firsties'. Yes, thanks for the info on the rifles. never ran into one personally either."
Maddi just kind of looks at Teres, but says nothing.

Rory’s offer of help receives a warm smile. ”Nah, we’re okay in most parts, just the usual busyness of farm life coupled with maintaining a deep sea structure. Plus from the sounds of your friends, you won’t be here long enough to really do anything. So thanks for the offer.” Maddi says, effectively letting Rory off the hook from any obligations.

Maddi looks to the group. ”So am I fixing anything, or no?” Maddi says.

If no one else speaks up, Maddi will fix Teres armor 30 M.D.C. for 60,000 credits.

Victor leads the group from the engineering bay, to what might be more akin to a CIC. There Victor gestures to a being with a colorfully orange and light brown striped patterned fishes head. They turn and look at the Templars. ”Ah the visitors, welcome to Pamu Station. What can we do for you.” He says.

Meanwhile elsewhere in the station, Leo has been chatting with some of the locals in what appears to be the canteen.

What are your Intentions?

Murdoc raises an eyebrow at what Victor said, "Tritonia? Ah, this is just a farming outpost and not like a homestead type place. That does make more sense."
Victor wrote:”Gonna have to be a bit more specific, there are a few that I am aware of, though I could only roughly tell you where one is.”
He gives a good chuckle, "Well, something tells me we need to talk to your Farm Manager about those charts. We seem to be lacking on useful intell. I'm just happy we ran into you guys first and not some pirate group or even less savory types then that." He gives the other man a crooked grin.

When they are lead off to the CIC and introduced to the Farm Manager, Murdoc's eyes widen a little before he mutters to himself, "Okay. That makes sense." We got all types of land D-Bees back home, stands to reason that a place like this would have aquatic types. He glances over to Jason the turns and smiles at the Farms Manager, "Thanks for the hospitality. We're new around here, obviously, and were wondering if we could trade some maps and charts with you."

"Aye, true enough. Not this time, at least."

She shrugs.

"Might be back this way sometime in the future. Maybe not. Who knows? But, if I come back through again and have the time, me talents are at yer disposal."

She steps back at this point, allowing the others to talk to Maddi. She instead walks over to talk to Teres.

"When I get some time, I'm happy ta have a look at those weird rifles we nabbed off them creatures. It's been a long time since I did any work on weapons, but I do have the skills. Sorry I haven't offered before - been more focused on trying ta get me magic energy reserves back up ta scratch."

She cocks her head at an angle as she looks at Teres.

"Once I've looked over 'em, I'll have a better idea of what I'll need ta work on 'em. Might be that I can't do anything at all. Only way ta know is to have an in-depth look at 'em."

Jason listens carefully to Maddi, making mental notes of the locations. "Thank you Maddi. I know having us drop in out of the blue like this is inconvenient as hell. Especially with Victor volunteering you for a bunch of extra work. Please, if there is anything we can do to help out while we are here, let us know. We may seem like an odd bunch, but we have a wide variety of skills that could help a farm. I'm not an engineer or repair wizard, but I do know a bit regarding chemistry and chemical analysis, if that could be of use. And Teres here is good with plants. Think on it, and let us know. " Unless Maddi has anything more for him, Jason follows after Victor.

Well, that's not what I was expecting, although I probably shouldn't be surprised. Jason thinks as he sees the manager. If there are 'frogmen' why not 'fishmen' Jason returns Murdoc's look.

When Murdoc is done speaking, Jason adds, "Our charts are a bit antiquated and lacking in detail. We are trying to locate a floating city called Gamu and need to know where we can resupply, get information, and places to avoid."

At the Engineer’s office.

Rory and Teres stay behind while the others are led to the CIC.

While Maddi is waiting for an answer, Rory and Teres have a conversation, before Teres finally answers the woman’s question and removes her armor.

Maddi gives it a quick glance. ”Gonna take a day or two at the very least, so I wouldn’t wander too far from the station. Once I’m done we can square up the money owed for the repairs.” Maddi says, setting the armor on a rolling cart near her desk. ”Now if you two will excuse me, I’m gonna catch dinner and hit my bunk.” Maddi says, before getting up and leaving the area, closing the door to her office behind her.

In the CIC.
Murdoc wrote:"Tritonia? Ah, this is just a farming outpost and not like a homestead type place. That does make more sense... Well, something tells me we need to talk to your Farm Manager about those charts. We seem to be lacking on useful intell. I'm just happy we ran into you guys first and not some pirate group or even less savory types then that."
Victor shrugs. ”Not an outpost. We’re a corporate owned entity, a business. Outpost would infer some manner of attempt to create a city or village.” Victor says.

Murdoc wrote:"Thanks for the hospitality. We're new around here, obviously, and were wondering if we could trade some maps and charts with you."
The manager nods. ”Standard procedure for customers. Trade maps, not so much, but we can let you look over them. We don’t really have extras.” The manager says.
Jason Long wrote:"Our charts are a bit antiquated and lacking in detail. We are trying to locate a floating city called Gamu and need to know where we can resupply, get information, and places to avoid."
The manager looks confused at the idea of antiquated charts. ”I can almost guess the charts are pretty accurate, if they’re post-event. As for the rest, it depends on what you’re looking for. We get resupplies from corporate deliveries, so that limits most of what we know for resupply.” The manager says.

The manager sighs, a weird expression from a fish. ”Sunnoco Village, I hear they have fuel. There is a large Junk Crab flotilla, they’re a great source of repairs and salvaged goods. There are a few villages in the area, but most are struggling to survive like most folk in the wilderness. As for a floating Island named Gamu, never heard of it. Who’s supposed to live there?” The Manager asks, before gesturing over to the central table, upon which is a pair of charts. One appears to be only underwater, while the other is normal. ”Here’s our charts, feel free to look them over. As for places to avoid, that’s subjective. China, nothing but demons there. The Marianas Trench for the same reason. In the sea of Japan, there is a large area known as the Devil’s Triangle, but that likely isn’t a problem for you right now.” The Manager says, clearly at a loss to truly answer Jason’s question.

(GM Note: Navigation rolls would allow one to find details that are not on the groups charts. ~Consumer.

Frak! This is turning into more of a wild goose chase that I expected. I wish that flying whale things had landed us within sight of Gamu. Murdoc gives a sigh of his own, then goes about comparing their charts with the ones there in the CIC. "I really wish I had brought my SAMAS right about now. I'd could get some altitude and scout a hell of a lot more than the 11 miles to the horizon that we can see on the boat."

Murdoc spins the maps a few different ways as he looks them over but after a few minutes he steps back and lets someone else have a go at it. Murdoc finds a good section of wall to stand next to and keep out of the way while they talk to the station manager, "Sunnoco Village and the Junk Crab flotilla sound like they're going to be our best bet. Hopefully they're around the same area and we don't have to spend days and days sailing around." He waves a hand dismissively and looks over to Jason, "I don't see any reason we need to go around those other places. I didn't really outfit to be fighting demons." He gives their leader a big grin. This was supposed to be a cake walk delivery run.

Jason carefully looks over the charts as the manager points out areas. Ok, fuel here, other supplies here... They are corporate owned? Who is the corporation?....

Looking up for the chart to the manager, Jason replies, "We've been told its a Lemurian city, somewhere in these seas. Are you aware of any Lemurian outposts or contacts in the area? If not, would you be able to put us in contact with your corporation? They might be able to point us in the right direction. " Jason also notes the areas to avoid and looks to Murdoc when he comments on them.

Jason smiles back, "Not without a lot of armor and preferably navy at our back. If I was back home, I'd want the whole Tactical Corp Navy Division with their landing craft and carriers. Which reminds me... " Jason turns back towards the manager, "Are you aware of a group in the area that uses the symbol for the old American Navy? We came across a camp that had been detroyed by the same people who use those particle rifles. There was a new jacket with their symbol on it there. If that was their camp, I would like to inform them of their loss. "

Rory sighs.

"Well, I did what I could for yon Maddi there. I'm gettin' the feeling that we're going ta need ta do some proper research afore we find where we're going."

She shrugs as she looks a bit embarrassed.

"Much as I avoided studying when I was at school, it's not like I don't know how ta do it. An' if they have a read-only database, I'd be happy ta give it a shot."

Walking over to where Jason and Murdoc are talking to the farm manager, she waits for an opportunity then interjects.

"Any luck on finding where we're going, boss? If not, may I offer me services as a researcher? I've some experience with database searches, if there's a system her. Otherwise, I have experience on doing long and boring paper research."

A shudder runs through her short frame.

"I tell ye, doing a search for the location of a city can't be as bad as trying ta find exactly the right engineerin' blueprint for a pre-war fuel valve for a piston engine used by an obscure aircraft that went through 41 design specification changes an' more than a dozen different engine variants, most of which used a different fuel valve to each other."

She pauses.

"Ye probably didn't need to know those details. I wish I hadn't needed ta know 'em either. Anyway, if ye've access ta either records, or a database of records, and we'd be allowed ta search 'em, I'd be most appreciative."

Rory.

Murdoc wrote:"I really wish I had brought my SAMAS right about now. I'd could get some altitude and scout a hell of a lot more than the 11 miles to the horizon that we can see on the boat."
The Farm manager nods. ”Yeah, our sister teams are fond of flying vehicles to add some depth to their visuals.” The manager says.
Jason Long wrote:"We've been told its a Lemurian city, somewhere in these seas. Are you aware of any Lemurian outposts or contacts in the area? If not, would you be able to put us in contact with your corporation? They might be able to point us in the right direction. "
The manager sighs. ”Ah, Lemurian. There’s the issue there. They are super secretive, their islands are always moving, and they rarely let outsiders on them. Your best bet is to find a Lemurian and make friends. As for getting you in contact with our corporation, I could, but it won’t help you find that city.” The manager says.
Murdoc wrote:"Sunnoco Village and the Junk Crab flotilla sound like they're going to be our best bet. Hopefully they're around the same area and we don't have to spend days and days sailing around... I don't see any reason we need to go around those other places. I didn't really outfit to be fighting demons."
The manager chuckles. ”If you’re looking for Lemurians, you may just have to do that. Sail around for days, I mean, not fight demons. Maybe you’d get lucky and find a Lemurian at the Flotilla or the Village, they’ve been known to visit. Hell, they’ve visited here in the past.” The manager says.
Jason Long wrote:"Not without a lot of armor and preferably navy at our back. If I was back home, I'd want the whole Tactical Corp Navy Division with their landing craft and carriers. Which reminds me... Are you aware of a group in the area that uses the symbol for the old American Navy? We came across a camp that had been detroyed by the same people who use those particle rifles. There was a new jacket with their symbol on it there. If that was their camp, I would like to inform them of their loss. "
The manager looks at the coat. ”Oh the New Navy. Captain Nemo II and his boys. I can point out our known points of contact with them, though ironically you’ll likely have an easier time running into his flagship the Ticonderoga, as their bases are not exactly in the area.” The manager says, before bowing his head. ”Shame about a village being wiped out by the Nau’tyll. They may be on the warpath again. I’ll have to send word out, just in case.” The manager adds.

After Maddi left her office, that left Rory, Father Reno, and Teres by themselves for the moment. Not knowing the layout specifically, they roughly follow the engineer to the canteen, and from there they find themselves entering the CIC behind the rest of the Templar.
Rory wrote:"Any luck on finding where we're going, boss? If not, may I offer me services as a researcher? I've some experience with database searches, if there's a system her. The farm manger looks at Rory. ”No, no databases of that sort, and to be honest, I couldn’t let you access them either as they are company property.” The manager says.
Teres Barton wrote:"My armor is in the shop for a day or two. so I am station bound for the moment, Not that I would be of help. Maddi didn't answer my question about the local undersea wildlife. A little more direct knowledge of deep-sea critters would help make me more useful."
The manager looks at Teres. ”Lots of critters, likely too many to tell in a simple conversation. The ocean is a vast place of many secrets. As for Maddi not answering your question, not surprised, she’s not much for conversation.” The manager says.

Jason and Murdoc pour over the chart making notes of several spots not listed on the groups own chart. (They will be added to Mission Notes and the Map. ~Consumer). The manager claps his surprisingly human hands together. ”Well since you’ll be here for a few days, allow us to show you some more hospitality, and offer you dinner in our Canteen. We can also arrange for some bunks for you to rest if you’d rather not return to the surface, or I can have Victor take you all back up after dinner.” The manager offers with a smile.

Murdoc nods to Rory and Teres "We have a few new reference points for our charts." He gives them a quick break down then looks over to Jason with a grin and says, "I think I'd rather stay down here until we're ready to go. We're gonna get enough days of staring out at endless waves as its is. If we can get a couple days not crammed on the boat, I'll be happy." He turns to the Station Manager and says, "By the way, I'm Travis Murdoc." He holds out a hand to the Station Manager, "I'm not really one to sit idle either though, so I'd be happy to help out around here if I can. I don't know much about farming, undersea of otherwise, but I'm a hell of a deckhand and can lift and carry for a good long shift." He gives the Station Manager a crooked grin.
Teres wrote:"I agree, I think that Crab flotilla or whatever group that symbol came from is probably the best hope. The junk fleet likely does travel a lot and sees more or knows of more places."
He nods to Teres in acknowledgement before turning back to Jason again, "Once we're set to go, I think we should try the Junk Crab flotilla first and then Sunnoco Village, even though we'll be heading away from the other locations on the chart. But we're as close as we're gonna get to those two points, then we can double back if we need to."

"I'm Teres Barton, and I would be interested in learning about some of the critters in the sea If you or someone can provide the info I would appreciate that. Being a Psi-Druid that is land-bound I do not get to explore ocean bottoms," she says to the manager. And its not something I would do on my own. Hmm, I really need to find other psi-Druids and sea if adapting to new environments is a thing. Maybe if I know more about it will reduce the stress. she thinks.

With that thought and looking to not think about the menaces of the sea, she looks to Jason,"Ya a local village in a place this deadly likely stays close to home. Plus those Junk crabs might be able to recharge the clips to our shiny new energy rifles and if we are lucky they have pistol versions in case we need to fight underwater again.

Taking in the wonder and unsettling newness of being in an underwater facility, Josiah has been relatively quiet and introspective throughout their visit. But at the mention of dinner and the prospect of being here for a few days, he gets an idea that would hopefully make the time pass quicker for him AND make him just a little more useful to the group. "Sir," he says to the manager, "aside from charring some meat and heating the odd can of beans, I've never really learned how to cook. Do you think someone here could take the time to teach me some of the basics?" It's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks I suppose. Should this group ever decide they don't need him having an extra skill or two would make it worth it, Josiah figures. Though he would be better to spend time discussing the truth of the Lord with them, he gets the feeling it wouldn't currently prove fruitful.

"Oh!" he says, almost as though he forget even though it was ever present at the back of his mind, "Do you have any alcohol?"

Nemo, the name sparks a faint memory for Jason. What was it, an adventure at sea? That's strange, maybe some type of parallel? "This Captain Nemo is one of your race? I remember a bit of a story from when I was a child about someone called Nemo. I wonder if they are somehow related. "? Jason shakes his head, Nah, I can't see a clown fish heading a naval force patterned after the American Navy. "Anyways, do you know if this New Navy monitors any specific frequencies or if there are protocols for making contact?" Jason notes anything the manager can say about Nemo's people, especially areas where they've been seen before. When Murdoc and Teres give their names to the manager, Jason stops, then hangs his head in shame. "Where are my manners, I am Jason Long, by the way, the leader of our little group. " Jason listens to Murdoc and Teres give there opinions on the next steps.

Rory shrugs, and her shoulders droop.

"Ah well, 'twas worth a try. There's nae been many ways to be as useful as I'd like ta be. Perhaps once we get back ta the surface again."

With her attempts to gather information failing, she listens to what other people are getting.

Lemurians have islands that move? That sounds interesting. I wonder how they do it - magic, engineering, or both? However they do it, that is definitely going to be something to keep an eye out for.

She goes over to talk to Jason.

"I've got a new spell I'd like ta try out. Could be a very decent utility spell, but it uses a lot of energy, so if I cast it, it'll take a day or so ta be back up to full again. D'ye think we'll be stickin' around here fer the night? If so, I might give it a shot an' use the night ta get back to within striking distance of full power again."

If Jason agrees, she'll look around to buy a makeup pouch with an opening large enough to fit the widest part of her Nuhr rune musket through, but small enough to fold up and shove into a pocket. Pretty would be a bonus. If she can get one, she'll find a quiet place and cast Dimensional Pockets on the pouch, then test it by putting her rune musket into it, zipping it closed, and putting it in her pocket.

Rory.

Perception: 1d100<83: [60*] = 1

Conditions:
- PPE: should be 303/303 at the start of this post
- Empress Heavy Ion Pistol: 3/8 shots in current E-clip
- Sustain: 6 days remaining
Sustain allows the recipient of this enchantment to go for days without food, water, or breathable air! The magic keeps their energy level up and removes the need for any outside source of these things. In addition, the recipient only needs two hours sleep per night for the duration of the magic. The individual can survive in almost any environment. However, the character remains vulnerable to other external conditions such as heat, cold, and physical damage, and fatigues from exertion as normal.

- Translator Fish:
"This creature I whipped up in my lab will go in your ear and live there for a while… Estimated lifespan is six months… Once in there it will gently affix itself to your eardrum and collect the sounds coming into your ear, and with sympathetic psionics, it will translate the language into something you understand. On the flipside, it will attempt to translate your speech in your brain to one that it has received, though this is to a limited effect, so keep the speaking simple and you should be okay.”

Rufus is very quiet (uncharacteristically so) as he takes in all the new surroundings and, as his people would say, "smiling like a roasted cat." His human companions might instead say he is "like a kid in a candy store."

He chuckles and nods. You're not wrong, my friend. You're not wrong.

His barely-contained giddiness continues as they board the sub and are guided through the underwater station. For someone who is as obsessed with technology as they are with magic, it's a dream come true. He usually finds himself 'zoned out' of much of the conversation as he's more interested with taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of Pamu Station. If he's asked what he's doing, he'll just shrug his shoulders. "My apologies. I'm sure it's just 'home sweet home' to you, but I've never seen anything like this before. My kin, they're mostly forest folk who prefer the simpler things in life. I could go back home and tell them about this place but they wouldn't believe a word of it. Me, though, I'd say this place is absolutely... neverjetno." If he gets a strange look he'll chuckle and add, "that's our word for 'amazing.'"

They may be on the warpath again. I’ll have to send word out, just in case.” The manager adds.
The mention of Nemo snaps Rufus' attention back to the conversation at hand. "You see? He is real..." he points to Jason before turning his attention back to the manager. "We believe we may have come across the remains of some of his troops in what used to be Denver. But you said 'Nemo II,' didn't you? Do you know if he's a descendant of the original? "Well, we wouldn't want to impose..." Rufus scratches behind his ear. "But I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to experience as much of this station as I could. Technological appreciation aside, we might could learn some things that could be of use back at the farm."

Murdoc wrote:"By the way, I'm Travis Murdoc... I'm not really one to sit idle either though, so I'd be happy to help out around here if I can. I don't know much about farming, undersea of otherwise, but I'm a hell of a deckhand and can lift and carry for a good long shift."
The Farm Manager shakes Murdoc’s hand. Murdoc notes while his hand is fairly human shaped, it is webbed. ”Nice to meet you Murdoc, my name is Joe. To be honest, unless you have the gear to work underwater for a few hours at a time, you’re not gonna be much of a help.” Joe says with an honest shrug.
Teres Barton wrote:"I'm Teres Barton, and I would be interested in learning about some of the critters in the sea If you or someone can provide the info I would appreciate that. Being a Psi-Druid that is land-bound I do not get to explore ocean bottoms,"
Joe shakes his head. ”Nice to meet you Teres. We’re not really teachers, and this is a company. As I told you, the information you’re asking, is just a bit too much to explain in an easy discussion. I’d avoid sharks and anything that looks like it’s gonna eat you.” Joe says.
Father Josiah Reno wrote:"Sir,.. aside from charring some meat and heating the odd can of beans, I've never really learned how to cook. Do you think someone here could take the time to teach me some of the basics?.. Oh!.. Do you have any alcohol?"
Joe shakes his head. ”You can ask the cooks in the kitchen, but I wouldn’t expect much, they’re usually pretty busy.” Joe says. ”Yeah we have at least two varieties we sell.” Joe says in response to the question about alcohol.
Jason Long wrote:"This Captain Nemo is one of your race? I remember a bit of a story from when I was a child about someone called Nemo. I wonder if they are somehow related?.. Anyways, do you know if this New Navy monitors any specific frequencies or if there are protocols for making contact?.. Where are my manners, I am Jason Long, by the way, the leader of our little group. "
Joe laughs. ”Oh, no he’s human as far as I know… Or that’s what the tales say. As for contacting them, personally I don’t know. They have some contact with Tritonia, but they initiate it.” Joe says. ”Pleasure meeting you Mr. Long.” Joe says.
Rufus wrote:"We believe we may have come across the remains of some of his troops in what used to be Denver. But you said 'Nemo II,' didn't you? Do you know if he's a descendant of the original? Or is it some sort of title like 'duke' or 'baron?'"
Joe shrugs. ”No clue, I’ve never had any encounters with them personally. They’ve only recently started trading with Tritonia to be honest.” Joe says.
Rufus wrote:"And I am Rufus of Clan Longfang. It's a pleasure to meet you and we greatly appreciate your hospitality."
”A pleasure. Now if you’d all follow me, I can take you to the Cantina, and get you some grub. Also were you planning on purchasing any foodstuffs for your trip, because we can discuss that as well.” Joe says as he leads the group back to the dining area. He gestures to a couple of tables that are mostly free, and heads over to the window. ”They’re meal is on us tonight.” Joe says to the cook, who shrugs and goes back to work. Joe returns to the group. ”I’m going to work on some sleeping arrangements for you, VIctor will be over to discuss business. I’ll be back shortly.” Joe says before leaving.

Victor arrives and sits at the table with Jason. ”So what kind of quantities are we talking about? If I were to guess, your sailboat can hold a few hundred pounds of food.” Victor says. A few minutes later some trays of food are brought out, fish and a variety of vegetables. Several canned beverages are set on the table as well, one seems to be some manner of beer.

Also in the Canteen are a dozen or so employees, sitting around and talking. Leo is in the back corner chatting with two of the fish like people.

GM Notes: Teres: Lore: Cattle and Animals does cover Sea Life, it’s just not specialized.
Rory: Unless it’s food/food related, they don’t really sell anything else here.
Father Reno: Just tell me how much beer you’re looking to buy, also you may want to scrolls back and look into the armor repairs, maybe discuss it with Teres, as they’re the only other one trying to get the minimum amount of repairs available to the group.
Templar in General: Someone tell me how many days/per person of consumables you’re looking to acquire.~Consumer

GM Note (Addendum): Farm hands may be a good source of rumors or information, so feel free to talk them up. I will be moving this forward soon. ~Consumer

You would think a big ocean there would be something interesting with a name everyone knows of. North America has D-Bee bugs, vampires, alien/D-bee slavers, and Simvin Monster Hunters. Even without formal training, I know some degree of common knowledge about those monsters. One day I need to read up on D-bees better. Oh and the odd dragon. At least there are those Junk Crabs and they will be fun to meet. Maybe table talk will get me some local info. she thinks as she heads to get food from the cafeteria then finds a seat she can hear and join some conversation. Once she had food Teres looks for a good spot with activity and settles into a seat.

"I wondered if there were any big bad guys in the water I needed to know about that were not natural or local and before you ask... I am not a local, and usually on land so my lore on what is in the sea is not so good. I would not see what's here in North America. Like, say floating islands full of Lumerians and other fantastic things." she asks the farmers and workers when there is an opening in the conversation she can politely interject.

Murdoc shrugs when Joe tells him most of the labor work he could do would need to be in underwater gear. He listens along as the conversation progresses and nods to Jason about their next steps. This is gonna be a long drag out thing and we have no idea about this part of the world. If all of us make it home I'll be surprised.

As they go to the cantina, Murdoc nods as the meals are passed around, "Jason, I say we stock up on as much rations as we can carry and pay for. "

Murdoc turns to Teres and chuckles, "Yeah, you can bet there's all kinds of whatever out there in the deep. I imagine that if we're around here a while we'll see all kinds of new stuff."

Rory grumbles when she is unable to find anything new to use as a anchor for her spell. She pulls out her backpack, looks it over, and a faint smile flashes across her face.

"Not me preferred option, but it makes a degree of sense."

She finds a quiet spot to sit and cast her new spell. She ponders her plan, trying to work out the costs and benefits beforehand.

If I do one now, and it works well, I should be able to get back to full power again in a couple of days. Another one for Rufus... hehehe, that little trickster will absolutely love it... then I can one for each of the others every couple of days until everyone has one. Probably won't be in time for anything we meet on this mission, but for the next? Downside - basically no PPE for the next couple of weeks.

She shrugs as she concludes the conversation with herself.
Concentration on her face, she casts Dimensional Pockets on her backpack, creating within it a tiny but focused dimensional rift that allows concealed storage for an additional thirty pounds of gear, subject only to its ability to fit through the gap. Almost all of her PPE goes into the spell.

"Crud, that was even more than I thought it'd take."

She stands and stretches, then walks over to the table where most of the Templar are currently charming the locals. She flashes a smile and takes a seat, relaxing. Her decision made, PPE expended, there was no going back. She listens to the conversation, letting it wash over her.
When she sees Rufus next, she nods at him, and gestures for him to come over.

"Got a new one fer ye ta have a look at when we're out on the waves again."

Her smile is mischievous.

Josiah nods in understanding to the first statement. A little disappointing but not unexpected. However, at the mention of beer varietals, he perks up and begins to assess how much he can carry. "How about 6 bottles?" Also, I'll take an extra canteen if ya got one to sell." Once he is able to get his bottles the first thing he does is crack one open and begin drinking. He chugs about the first half of the bottle in one draw, then slows down and sips the rest. His whole body appears to relax, like every muscle just released all at once. His mind became both cloudy and more focused at the same time. If he's able to get the second canteen, Josiah will pour as much of the beer as he can into both canteens, and store the rest in his backpack.

As he finishes that up he notices his armor was in need of repair. He looks around for Teres and upon finding her, asks, "Hey, any chance you could help me get this armor repaired?"

The table Teres finds room has a pair of farmers, one with the head of a fish and the other a dark skinned woman. They’re wearing sturdy looking coveralls and are currently eating a similar meal to the one handed to Teres. The farmers look up at Teres as she sits down. ”Evening stranger, I’m Blaire, and this is Mike.” The woman says gesturing to the fish man. When Teres asks her question, the two farmers kind of look at Teres for a moment as if trying to process what she’s asked. ”I guess the Horune and the Nau’tyll are the biggest threats in the area, pirates, monsters from the rifts, the occasional foreigner army showing up here to explore, though they’re usually peaceful enough. I don’t really understand the question Because all of the normal threats here are generally local, and or natural.” Blaire answers, with Mike nodding along. ”I guess the Lemurians have floating islands, at least that’s the rumor, never seen one, or know anyone else who has. Though I heard some Lemurians were seen on the northern side of what used to be Papu New Guinea, or at least that’s what one of the delivery drivers said to me.” Mike says.

Jason and Murdoc discuss some logistics with Joe, and come up with some numbers. The Crew will have enough food to last them for several weeks, as well as a few hundred gallons of purified water to fill their tanks. Jason even goes out of his way to procure some alcohol for Father Reno, but he notes the man seems a little too desperate for it as he finishes more than one can of beer in the span of a minute.
GM Note: Food & Water for 8 people for 6 weeks. 5,000 credits after Leo’s deal. ~Consumer

Father Reno’s first sip of alcohol in three days is certainly an experience. The Beer is certainly not Wheat, Barley, or Hops based, and has a slightly salty taste hidden in its undertones. To be doubly fair, Father Reno doesn’t even really feel the alcohol at first either as he can only guess it’s rather low in this particular brew. That doesn’t deter the alcoholic priest in the least as he quickly finishes one, and goes for a second, before considering how to cram them in his canteen. Though Father Reno is currently eyeing the remaining four beer cans on the table.

Meanwhile Rory isn’t really paying attention to anything anyone is doing. Her head is solely in her thoughts, and those thoughts are on casting a spell that will basically drain her of all potential psionic energy for more than a day. Rory loosely weighs the pros and cons and decides to do it anyways. So sitting at the table Rory begins casting a long complicated spell, that to all outsiders is more her talking in tongues and gesturing with her hands in odd configurations for about a minute.

GM Note: Rory you really need to add the spell to your sheet. Effect noted on Rory’s Backpack~Consumer.

About this time, Leo approaches Jason, Murdoc, and Joe. ”So I’ve been talking with the farmers, and they have a problem that I am very well suited to deal with. I’ve offered my services to them in exchange for a discount on the food. I just came over here to let you know I would be indisposed for a while and that you should go on without me for now. When I’m done I’ll make my way back to you.” Leo says, his tone sounds much like someone who has made up his mind and isn’t planning on changing it at all.
GM Note: This is my way of dumping Leo until Lee can return. ~Consumer

The rest of the evening goes uneventful, with Joe, showing the Templar to a room with two triple bunks. The room also has a small desk with a chair, and a small rack of lockers. ”You guys can stay here till Maddie is done with the repairs on your armors, feel free to use the other employee facilities as you wish.” Joe says before bidding the Templar a good night, unknowing that none of the Templar present actually need more than two hours of sleep.

Next post, I need a rough day’s worth of activities, even if it’s as simple as relax. I want to move this forward.

Even on North America one region to the next they can be different greatly in a short distance." she replies taking a bite of the food thinking, Since they didn't mention any natural beasts of interest I should be fine. giant squids and sharks tend to have basic similarities across the board. Long as I don't find a supernatural Ahab and his supernatural White Whale here...

With the group in the bunks:
"Thanks, Joe, they definitely look better then my old barracks. so an upgrade." she grins as she checks one out.

Once Joe was gone:
"I had a bit of good luck. As I was asking about local threats, animals and such as we Psi-druids tend to do I came across a rumour of the island. Well, not the island per say..but the next best thing. Some Lemurians were seen on the northern side of what used to be Papu New Guinea, or at least that’s what one of the delivery drivers said. They didn't really get into detail on the Lemurians condition so it should be looked into with some haste. Just in case they ran into trouble and one happens to be the one we need to find." she states checking the bunk in a fashion she would have as soldier then shrugs hopping in one.

"With out armour I'm indoors or at least non-combat. I plan reading up on the local area and any about working with rope. These farmers probably have a library of some sort here to keep them from getting bored or stir crazy." the woman added settling in. sleep needed or not it was nice to be in a bed.
If the padre is there:
"And Padre, I covered your armor repairs. no need to pay back. Pretty sure at some point I will owe you one." she adds.

On the ship:
The day passes quietly as she gets better with rope and some tasks. Teres still does not show a true love of the ocean, but is certainly a lot more at ease on it. Aside from the odd scowl at the ocean and all that salt water. She plots how to make Hammocks and other useful items she could use in the wild when not on a specific task with intense focus. Rope was indeed a handy thing to have around. A hammock could act as bed, Used to climb across gaps if it was placed properly (not unlike a spideweb), a frame for a shelter or a pack to hold some items. All very helpful items.

In the bunkroom:
Rory slides into one of the low bunks with a sigh of relief, and lies with her hands clasped together across her chest. She relaxes, and starts to focus. Just as she's starting to drift off, she hears Teres talking about Lemurians, and she wakes up again.

"Ooh, a lead on the Lemurians. That's fantastic, Teres! I didn't really hear much meself."

She rolls over and props herself up on her elbow.

"Let's head away when we can. From what ye heard, it's not a lead we can count on ta be there fer all that long.

Once the conversation fades away, she drifts off to sleep, trying and failing to meditate.

The next day:
When she wakes the following morning, she shakes her head and looks around.

"Ooh, that were nice. Haven't slept in a bed much in the last few months."

She stands and stretches, then goes for breakfast. While there, she offers to the locals to help out, using her engineering skills, repair skills, or even if only as simple labor. If asked, she replies that it's the least she can do to return the hospitality she's been shown.
She will spend the day helping out the locals until it's time to leave, or, if her offers of help aren't accepted, talking with the Templars and helping them with anything they need.

Back on the ship:
Rory looks around, and makes a note of anything that looks like it needs to be replaced. She will defer to anyone else that knows more, partly because she respects their knowledge, but also because she's not entirely confident in her own abilities.

He suddenly realizes that lighting up a cigar in an enclosed environment would not endear himself to the Templar's hosts. He tracks down Victor and begs for a ride to the surface with the supplies.

Once back at the boat, he checks on Jesse and relaxes with a cigar before asking her how to best stow the supplies.

Leo's little bombshell catches Rufus completely by surprise. His ears droop somewhat and he lets out a soft whine. He's the reason we're here and now he's not going to be able to see it through? "It's not gonna be the same without you, big fella... but if you can help these people out then you probably should. What should we tell your family when we get back if you're not with us? You know what, don't worry about that right now -- just work on helping out these folks and getting caught up with us as soon as possible."

Once the group has retired to their bunks and Joe has left, he nods along with the conversation. "Agreed, sounds like that's the best lead we've got. We could see if we could download some charts into my computer and get Jessie to plot a course. Too bad the boat's not nuclear powered like those Northern Gun boats you see out on the lakes and rivers. I've even heard they have this combination boat and hover truck; now THAT would have been ideal..." his voice trails off and is replaced by soft snoring.

The next morning he busies himself with trying to get updated maps/charts of the surrounding areas and talking with farming personnel about hydroponics in general; when asked why he shrugs his shoulders and says "Our HQ is a little farm on the outskirts of MercTown -- I think it used to be in the old American Empire state of Kentucky -- and I've been interested in possibly growing some alchemical plants as well. It may not work, but using stuff other than soil is fascinating none the less."

When the armor is repaired and the group's ready to leave out he hunts down Leo one last time to say goodbye before boarding Victor's sub back up to the surface.

Josiah sweeps up the remaining beers to last him the rest of the day. As he makes his way back to where he's sleeping, he swings by where Teres is and she tells him,
Teres Barton wrote: Thu Apr 20, 2023 10:23 am"And Padre, I covered your armor repairs. no need to pay back. Pretty sure at some point I will owe you one."
Josiah smiles broadly at this. "Bless you, my child. You are truly one of God's greatest." In a show of thanks, he offers her one of the beers. Whether she takes it or not, he will thank her again and head back to his room.

Cracking open his bible, and a bottle, he begins to read. First, passages his read a thousand times before that bring him comfort, and then ones he seldom visits. It is in these verses that he finds a little inspiration. He finishes his beer, grabs his book and finds a location where there are people around. He walks to the middle of the room and begins:

Performance: 97% 1d100: [76] = 76 - for the impact of his sermon

"God is known by many names and worshipped in many houses, but of one blood, God has called all nations to dwell upon the face of the earth that we might seek after God and yet God is not far from any one of us. In him we live and move and have our being. What a wonderful gathering of the children of God.

Will you bow with me and will you reach out and join hands with your neighbor?

I saw a great multitude of men and women, boys and girls, gathered together on a hill. There they were, diverse and variegated, hailing from the four corners of the earth, yet they looked into each other’s eyes and they were not afraid.

So I asked the one standing there, “What is this?” He said, “It is the kingdom of God, imbued with love and justice.”

And so I asked, “Where is this?” And he answered, “It exists already in the hearts of those who have the courage to believe and struggle.”

And so I asked, “When is this?” And he answered, “When we learned the simple art of loving each other as sisters and brothers.”

And so, O God, give us wisdom give us courage for the living of these days, for the facing of this hour, as we bear witness to your kingdom. O God who loves us into freedom and frees us into loving, to you we offer this prayer. Amen."

Josiah raises his head and looks at the room. "Thank you all for being one of God's children. I will be in my room if anyone feels compelled to discuss anything they spiritually need." With that, he heads back to the room, where he immediately cracks open another beer.

In the room provided by Joe, the Templar discuss things.

Jason is ferried back to the surface by one of the crew, though they do not send the purchased supplies up with him as they’re likely still gathering them, he finds the ship docked as it had been hours before, Jessie sitting on the deck, absentmindedly mending a frayed rope. Vlad likely below deck is not seen. Rory decides to get some sleep to regain the massive amount of energy she’s expended to cast her spell. Rufus does much the same, dozing off in mid conversation even. Teres also goes to sleep. Father Reno goes out to try and preach to the masses, finding a large group of farmers engaged in recreational activities. The priests attempt to prosthelytize is met with mixed results as a majority of the folk present seem to ignore him in favor of playing cards or conversing with their compatriots, only a limited few seem to pay Father Reno any attention, and that seems to fall in the wake of other things to do.

The night shift of Pamu Station is quiet with only a few folk roaming the halls, likely as a safety precaution. The next morning is pretty boring as the Templar try to mesh in with the crew of the station, but all can see that once breakfast is eaten, it’s working time, and that leaves the Templar to their own devices.

Rufus’ questions about Hydroponics are answered, but he learns that they don’t grow hydroponically, but out on the sea floor. Rory’s offers of help are gently rebuked, due to corporate rules they say. Around noon, Maddi the engineer approaches Teres and Father Reno. ”Armor is as repaired as I can.” She says before processing payment and giving the pair their gear. The food supplies are packed in the sub, and the group is brought back to the surface. Victor and Leo help load the supplies from the submarine, to the sailboat. ”Safe sailing friends.”

Leo gives his farewells and hugs to the Templar, saying he’ll be back with them soon enough. The Duo of Victor and Leo, board the sub, and dive beneath the surface.

Jessie sitting at the Helm looks to the Templar. ”So where to?”

What are your Intentions?

GM Notes: Father Reno and Jason are on the first shift. Rufus and Teres will be on the second shift. Rory and Murdoc on the third shift. Add an additional D100 roll, and feel free to write about your experience boating (There is a secret prize for participation)
Also need 1 Navgation skill roll to plot a course to wherever you’re planning on going. ~Consumer

"I suggest due east to that sighting. Probably is also a few villages and stations near the Lumarian sighting that may be a good rest stop after that. A delivery driver was the original source of the rumor. They had to be delivering or picking up from somewhere near there." Teres suggests, "That that big land mass south east of us may have a station in that area too. that could be of some interest if we get time." she looks at the map. Places like this even in times of trouble people thrive or at least survive somehow.

When she spots the Padre:
"And Padre, thanks for that beer, It will make this sailing trip a lot easier." she nods, holding up the bottle. Once on shift she refocuses and avoids thinking too much about the ocean, sticking to duties and observing the navigation process taking in what she could with out interrupting. Given the nature the sea and the risks it was wise to not ask and just let the pros do their thing.

Rory nods when Teres mentions sailing due east.

"Makes sense. Let's work out a crew schedule, make sure everyone gets some downtime. I've got pretty decent nightvision, so it probably makes sense ta have me on when it's darker."

She looks over to Jessie.

"Anythin' that I can do, lemme know, yeah? Ye've got a mite more experience at this stuff. Fer all me heritage, I'm more at home in the air or on the ground than on the sea."

She later sits down with Rufus.

"Have a look at me backpack. I made a little change to it - see if you can spot it."

(The backpack has been reconfigured internally with a Dimensional Pocket. Rufus may or may not be able to work out how to access it. It's detectable to those who can see dimensional anomalies, or by practitioners of magic with ME17+ who also know that the backpack is magical.)
She withdraws her 42" long Nuhr rune musket from the 30" long backpack, and grins as she slides it back in.

"Creates a small dimensional pocket. Can hold around 25, maybe as many as 30 pounds. Needs ta be placed on some kind of pocket or container - a backpack, fer example, or a pocket. As long as the object can physically fit through the entrance to the pocket, an' it don't go over the weight limit, then ye've got yerself a nice little hidey hole fer contraband."

Her grins become mischievous.

"I'm sure ye can come up with a few nice little tricks ye can play with this. Downside: It only lasts a couple of years, and it uses a boatload of energy ta cast it. With another day ta rest, an' if I don't have any other demands on me spellwise, I can do one fer you too."

Follow his mediocre reception to his sermon, Josiah decides to dial it down for the remainder of their time at the Station. Instead he focuses on prepping for their departure; collecting his newly repaired armor, backing his bags, and drinking...so much drinking...

When the group finally gets going, Josiah assumes his position at the first shift with Jason. With a satisfying buzz going on, he's much more happy to be doing what's needed on the boat. As they work, he begins to sing a hymn. Hopefully this doesn't bother Jason too much. He continues to do what he's asked, as boating is not something he's had much experience with. At the end of his shift he'll head to wherever he's sleeping quarters are and rest.

Conditions:
- PPE: should be 303/303 at the start of this post
- Empress Heavy Ion Pistol: 3/8 shots in current E-clip
- Sustain: 5 days remaining
Sustain allows the recipient of this enchantment to go for days without food, water, or breathable air! The magic keeps their energy level up and removes the need for any outside source of these things. In addition, the recipient only needs two hours sleep per night for the duration of the magic. The individual can survive in almost any environment. However, the character remains vulnerable to other external conditions such as heat, cold, and physical damage, and fatigues from exertion as normal.

On the flipside, it will attempt to translate your speech in your brain to one that it has received, though this is to a limited effect, so keep the speaking simple and you should be okay.”

Jessie sitting at the Helm looks to the Templar. ”So where to?”
"You better not be too long, big fella..." Rufus shakes his head. "I don't want to have to explain to your family where you are if you aren't with us when we get back." And how are you going to catch up with us, anyway? Strap your butt to a torpedo and light the fuse? Lash sea turtles together to make a raft?

A delivery driver was the original source of the rumor. They had to be delivering or picking up from somewhere near there." Teres suggests, "That that big land mass south east of us may have a station in that area too. that could be of some interest if we get time." she looks at the map. Places like this even in times of trouble people thrive or at least survive somehow.
"I agree," Rufus nods as he has a look at the map as well. "West is out of the question at any rate; there's just nothing there. At least if we head east to New Guinea we can pretty much hug the coastlines of all these islands along the way. That way we're not too far out in the middle of nowhere." He thinks a moment. "On the other hand, if we're too close to the coast we might run into some natives who aren't in the mood to socialize." He looks up at Jessie. "What do you think? Can we make it all the way over there?"
Rory wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 5:23 amShe later sits down with Rufus.

Rufus' eyes get wide when Rory shares her new dimensional carry-on. "Now that's a neat trick indeed. I'm actually a bit jealous -- I'd be tempted to camp out on a ley line and cast this on all my pockets. I've heard of ones that are pretty much permanent, but I don't even want to think about how much energy those would require. Do you know what happens to anything that's inside when the spell expires?"

"And I appreciate the offer." He rubs his chin. "I think I've got a few sacks in my pack, but I'll have to double check."

--------------------------------------------------

As much as he enjoys sailing during the day, Rufus finds sailing at night even better as the air is much cooler (when you're covered in fur, cooler weather is better weather). And the night sky is so much more... brilliant... in the absence of bright light sources or forest canopies. "I can see why sailors used to navigate by the stars... and I guess they still do if they don't have radar and whatnot." he says to nobody in particular. "It's hard to appreciate the night sky when you're deep in the forest. Or when you're out on a glowing ley line." He looks over at Teres. "You're used to the wide open prairies and scrublands, right? How does it compare to this?"

He stares up into the sky, looking to see if he recognizes any familiar constellations or stars. Given they're on the other side of the planet from North America, he's not expecting much but is trying anyway.

The group discusses what was found out, but decides to continue with the original plan of making for the Junkcrab Flotilla. The initial route is a relatively straight line up the coast of what used to be known as Sumatra. The weather is not only pleasant, but favorable with a north easterly wind pushing the sailboat at a brisk five miles per hour. The Templar are not what one would call good sailors, but luckily for them, they’re not alone, Jessie corrects mistakes and shows and reshows skills that one would need to functionally sail a boat in at least gentle weather. Around noon on the second day of sailing, the boat runs into a hiccup as it appears to have sprung a minor leak.

Teres takes the idea neutrally and shrugs as she goes to her duty as the would-not-likey-be the world's greatest sailor. She knew she was not a great sailor and had no illusions. She was a plains and scrublands girl, occasionally a forest and desert as well. The sea was not her element but still a worthy thing to learn about. The Psi-Druid was still giving an honest effort at being one with the dreaded Salt-water. There had to be something to like in it.

If there was Lumerian somewhere they might have been here with the Crab people for a bit. If they saw them and knew they were headed somewhere that could confirm the rumour. It was a shot worth taking they knew and they did need to charge E-clips so this trip was still useful. The other thing Teres needed was aquatic armor. And that was something they could find here. Any people called 'Junk Crab' should know a thing or two about salvage. As the Psi-druid envisioned giant crab-shaped subs and crap people in white lab coats skittering around and shooting ink everywhere whenever they saw a pot of boiling water she grins. Then looked around for a second unsure of what she was looking for.

"Head's up people!! We got a leak!" she hollers to her fellow templar bellow decks. It was far more gentle than the airhorn her platoon sergeant used.

"Rufus, you might want to throw up a see invisible. I'd hate for us to get ambushed while Affecting repairs in case this is real trouble." she suggests as she activates the see invisible. Leaks could be from an accident but better to be safe. A tactic she would use as a pirate is to make a leak via sniper shot to distract the crew of a target and get an idea of how many were on board. In any event, even a simple leak was probably a good reason alone to raise the alarm.

"Jessie, you see anything? The area does have Naut'Yll and Hurane Pirates according to the locals. This is not a good place to sink. We better wake up the rest, just in case it is not a simple leak. It is better to practice than be caught flat-footed." Heading over to the side of the ship to look for any signs of damage with her bow in hand ad a quiver ready. moving galley entrance to wake those not awake or get their attention

Rory was getting a bit of shuteye when the yell comes. "Leak" is one of the words that a Nuhr dwarf tended to react to from birth, even when they preferred land or air to the water.

"Wha?"

She quickly discards her previous thoughts, and focuses on the present issue.

"Leak? Where?"

She is still in her bedclothes as she makes her way to Teres.

"Lead me." she demands. She does not appear to consider the roughness of her tone or words.

She looks at the hole, and tries to work out if she needs to apply any kind of external or internal patch to stop it from happening again before they make it to a drydock for a full check. She decides to stop the water coming in while she tries to fix the hole.

Spells:
Magic shield (6 PPE) transferred to Teres to hold against the leak to stop the water coming through while the hole is being fixed.
Mend the Broken (10PPE +30PPE/point of MDC repaired) to repair the hole.

"Now, how th'hell did that happen?"

As she sits there considering, she suddenly realizes she has been particularly rude to Teres by ordering her around.

"Oh crud. My apologies fer me lack o' manners. Thank ye very much fer findin' it, and fer helpin' me fix it. Sorry I was curt. Got into the whole 'fix the problem' mindset, an' I know I'm really damned rude when I do that. Ye have me sincere apologies.

She blushes as she speaks.

Rory.

Sensory Equipment—82% / 1d100: [13] = 13 % - using his suit thermals to look for the leak

When not on watch, Jason splits his time between his periodic sensor and radio sweeps, updating their position on the charts, and listening to Jesse train them in how to man the boat. I'm pretty sure I never want to run another mission on a small boat, but at least we seem to be making less mistakes. We mighty actually live through this He chuckles to himself.
His musings come to an abrupt end when someone announces that the boat is leaking. Not being a born, or even a properly trained sailor, Jason feels the first twinges of anxiety. He recognizes it and forces himself to take a calming breath.

"Ok, people, let's find the leak and get it stopped. Boats have pumps for this kind of thing." He looks to Jesse, "Right?" Jason directs those manning the lines to stay above decks, in case they need to slacken sail. (If it is his turn, he stays above decks and asks the others to find the leak and report back when it is found) If Jason is one of those searching, he uses the thermal sensors of his helmet, figuring that the incoming water would be a significantly different temperature than the interior of the boat.

Once the leak is found, Jason turns to Jesse, "You're our expert, based on the leak, should we slacken sail for repairs or do you think we can fix it while moving?" Jason heeds her advice (whatever it is) and stays out of the way of people who clearly know more about boats and their repairs. He wishes, again, that he had a unit of Sea Squad troops with them.

Once the repairs are underway, Jason asks Rory, "What caused the leak? Just regular wear and tear, or did something hit the hull?" It is an older boat and stuff breaks.

Rufus throws himself into learning the ropes (both figuratively and literally) of sailing mainly for two reasons -- one, because it's an adventure and adventures should be taken head-on because, as Uncle Cato says, It is in the compelling zest of high adventure that we find our supreme joys... and two, because, really, what else is there to do? He'll even volunteer to take the wheel from time to time. "You never know when it might come in handy..." he shrugs. "Ever heard of Techno-Wizard Sky Boats? They're literally boats that float in the air along ley lines. I hear they can get up to 100, 150 miles per hour." If only we could go that fast... He chuckles as he glances around. "Only downside is that they can't leave the ley line on its own unless it goes over water and splashes down... then it'd become just another boat."

His ears swivel around like furry little sensor dishes, listening for tell-tale sounds of water burbling in through the hull. Mission Notes
1st shift (9am-5pm): Father Reno and Jason
2nd shift (5pm-1am): Rufus and Teres
3rd shift (1am-9am): Rory and Murdoc]
It’s only in the first shift of the day still, with Father Reno and Jason running too and fro to work lines as needed, though to be fair, it’s not particularly strenuous, as the sea is calm and the wind is fair. The Templar have been lucky in that account at least. Rufus sits near the helm with Jessie talking as Teres contemplates the nature of the currently unknown Junk Crab down below with Rory and Murdoc, who had been complaining of a headache and is trying to sleep it off so to speak. Perched on the top of the mast is Vladimir in the form of a Stellar Eagle, he seems content to watch the sea.
Rufus wrote:"You never know when it might come in handy... Ever heard of Techno-Wizard Sky Boats? They're literally boats that float in the air along ley lines. I hear they can get up to 100, 150 miles per hour... Only downside is that they can't leave the ley line on its own unless it goes over water and splashes down... then it'd become just another boat."
Jessie smiles. ”We have similar things in Asgard, I don’t think they’re techno wizardry though, more likely pure enchantment. They’re pretty quick if I remember as well.” Jessie says to Rufus.

Teres notices an inch or so of water has accumulated on the floor of the crew cabin. So in military fashion Teres starts yelling. Which wakes Rory, and gets a disgruntled grunt from Murdoc.
Teres Barton wrote:"Head's up people!! We got a leak!"
Rory upon waking also notices the water accumulating on the floor of the cabin.
Rory wrote:"Wha?... Leak? Where?... Lead me."
Rory casts Magic Shield and hands it to Teres. Hearing the commotion below Jason begins to bark orders before asking Jessie a rather important question.
Jason Long wrote:"Ok, people, let's find the leak and get it stopped. Boats have pumps for this kind of thing... Right?"
Jessie looks down at the hatch into the crew cabin. ”I would assume so, likely on the switchboard near the door. I can handle this for a few minutes, you guys see what’s going on.” Jessie adds.
Rufus and Jason descend into the crew cabin, making the area a bit cozy, but not quite too cramped. Teres asks Rufus a question, before she heads up on deck, and activates the power herself.
Teres Barton wrote:"Rufus, you might want to throw up a see invisible. I'd hate for us to get ambushed while Affecting repairs in case this is real trouble."
Rufus wrote:"Alright, I would say 'all hands on deck,' but I guess it's more a case of 'all hands below deck' instead.”

Up on deck, Teres asks Jessie a question.
Teres Barton wrote:"Jessie, you see anything? The area does have Naut'Yll and Hurane Pirates according to the locals. This is not a good place to sink. We better wake up the rest, just in case it is not a simple leak. It is better to practice than be caught flat-footed."
”Nope, nothing out of the ordinary. Definitely nothing dangerous looking.” Jessie says. Jason yells up from the crew compartment.
Jason Long wrote:"You're our expert, based on the leak, should we slacken sail for repairs or do you think we can fix it while moving?"
”As long as it’s not gushing, we should be fine. Just find the leak first.” Jessie says.

The combined efforts of Jason, Rory, and Rufus detect the leak, it seems to be coming from behind one of the underside storage bins. A few minutes of work gets the drawer out and the back panel of the cabinet removed revealing a leaking seam. A common occurrence in old vehicles, and by anyone's guess the boat is well over a hundred years old.

A consensus seems to be had and Rory gives it a try first, using her Mend the Broken spell to see if it’ll fix the leak. Surprisingly it does, with very little effort even. Meanwhile above, Teres looks over the side to see if she can see anything, but nothing seems visible from her point of view.
Rory wrote:"Now, how th'hell did that happen?.. Oh crud. My apologies fer me lack o' manners. Thank ye very much fer findin' it, and fer helpin' me fix it. Sorry I was curt. Got into the whole 'fix the problem' mindset, an' I know I'm really damned rude when I do that. Ye have me sincere apologies.
Jason Long wrote:"What caused the leak? Just regular wear and tear, or did something hit the hull?"
The questions of what happened begin to flow, but the likely culprit is age and wear and tear. Nothing as nefarious as an attack or clumsy as a collision. Someone is able to find the bilge pump controls and quickly gets the water drained out of the crew compartment. A little bit of effort later the cargo compartment is repaired and the floor dried. So it is that the trip continues on, with the weather continuing to favor the Templar. Another almost two days pass with little activity save the ship cutting through the Indian ocean.

Roughly halfway through the third shift, Murdoc and Rory are on duty alone, while Jessie gets a few hours of sleep required by the Sustain spell. Murdoc being as quick as he is, has no issue tending the lines while Rory mans the tiller and the control station. A soft beep can be heard as the sonar picks up something about a mile out.
