He looks down for a second, "How you holding up in there Boom Boom?" He stares blankly at Amber for a second and then laughs a little. "Shit. Sorry. Still feel the arm a little..." He then gives her a thumbs up with his right arm.

"It's a good thing we left when we did. All of those security mechs would probably have done us all in. I guess the explosions were them fighting the crawlers." He turns to look back at where they just left and says to the group "We DO have a problem however. I saw some of those crawler bot things got out of the area before security showed up and it looks like they have our scent. I don't know how much time we have before they get here."
Amber nods in reply as she surveys the situation. Small miracle that the patch job has held up as well as it has with the time I had. “Keep me informed on the structural integrity of your EBA." She taps her rifle. "I am ready for any that get through the security bots.”

You Crazy bastard. Those will do nicely! “I could put those missiles to good use, Phinneas, but it will have to wait until we have some more time and are somewhere safe that I can get them loaded.”
Praxis Vek wrote: Wed Mar 15, 2023 2:13 pm "Kreeghor used to remove bones beginning at the fingers and toes keeping them alive until they talked or until there was just a skin sack with muscles and organs in it. Furthest I saw anyone hold out for was when they were just a torso with floppy limbs. I don't think we have much time. He doesn't seem to be scared of dying. Pain threshold can take a while to find. If we don't have truth serum, may be time to open negotiations."
Amber cringes a little as she hears the Kreeghor way of interrogation. “Yes, that is precisely the type of questioning I do not condone. But your description may be graphic enough to encourage his cooperation.”
Susan Lee wrote: Wed Mar 15, 2023 10:48 pm When they're set down by their leader and taxi driver, Susan salutes Amber and grabs her hand. "Commander, thank you for saving my life from the threat of your own vision. I will see if I can apply any kind of truth drugs but they... uh... don't pierce armor usually."
Amber smiles behind her faceplate. "No thanks needed, Susan. I know you would have done the same for me if the situation had been reversed."
Susan Lee wrote: Wed Mar 15, 2023 10:48 pm She then sends, through their physical connection, "I continue to believe that our best option for survival is to move with Reka Ola to a hospitable environment, acquire the device, and let him escape, while leaving Eight here."
I can see a certain appeal in that plan, but I don’t think it will be that easy. Amber changes to a private channel to reply to Susan. “If only it was that simple, Susan. I doubt Reka will trust us by the company we have with us. I can try to reach out to him telepathically like I did with R71 and see if I can get him on our side, but it will take some doing to overcome the suspicion he will have of us. Plus, I suspect he will have some more tricks up his sleeve when get to wherever he has the device stashed.”

By the Gods, I hate relying on Eight so much, but he is the only one that knows how this place works. Amber makes her decision. “Eight, can you find us a safe, hospitable place to hole up for a bit? We need to get inside and out of this radiation in order to question Reka. It may even allow things to settle down a bit out here.” She points back to where the explosions are still happening.

Once Eight locates a safe site to go to, she will grab Susan and Phinneas again and flies them to the location he finds for them to hunker down for a while to interrogate Reka (unless it is very close by).

She turns and reaches up with her off hand and grabs Phinneas by the collar, "I'll tote the one armed bandit, though it would be funny to see him try and climb all those ladders." She chuckles a bit, "Praxis, your spiffy new armor looks like drek, I suggest you stick with the rest of us now and stop trying to play the hero. Susan, is there any way you can get your babies to meet up with us?"

Analoy turns to Amber and gives the other woman a solid nod, Fraking precog nonsense. I sure hope this doesn't turn out like that vison of swirling drek. "Time we bounce." She pauses for a moment then says, "Eight, if you can get us out of this, I'll do everything in my power to separate you from the Kreator's control." Ah frak, was that just monitored?

Amber nods in agreement with Eight. Well, duh. No kidding that we can't stay here. She gathers the objects Eight stripped off of Reka and secures it all into her pack. (OCC - Unless someone really wants/needs any of it right now.) We can figure out what all this stuff is when we get somewhere safe. "Give me a minute to set our order of march, Eight, then we will head out."

She looks at Praxis and his scuffed up new PA. "Praxis, can you carry Reka? Keep him safe, he's our ticket off this rock." She looks at the others. "Analoy, you take Phinn with you and go up front with Eight. I'll take the rear with Susan and make sure those crawler mines don't follow us. Keep low. Don't bunch up in case some of those mines got free. Let's try and keep quiet and the chatter to a minimum. Keep your heads on a swivel. Any questions?" She looks at everyone in turn. "No? Then let's go, Eight."

Amber gets Susan into a secure and comfortable position (I'll let Susan decide how she is being carried) before making sure the Variable Camouflage System (-20% for others to Detect Ambush and Detect Concealment) is up and running. She let's the rest of the group start out while she covers the rear. She engages the contra-grav system and follows the others at low altitude (5'-10' above the ground) and follows at whatever pace Eight sets as they move forward.

Analoy's eyes light up at some of the gear taken off the Uteni but she nods to Amber as their leader stores it all for later inspection. She gives Amber another nod when the woman agrees that she should tote Phinneas through the pylon.

Analoy float up behind Phinneas and grabs ahold of him, then lifts him up in like she's going to wield him as a shield, rising up until his feet are only a few inches off the ground. She pushes he helmet up against the side of his so she doesn't have to use the comms or the external speaker and says, "We gotta work together if things get tricky, so keep your eyes open or it could be both our asses."

With that, Analoy moves to the front of the line, just behind Eight, and follows the robot to the base of the pylon and into its core, ready to bolt for the other side in they are spotted by any of the maintenance or security robots.

Amber nods. What would I do without Susan’s level-headedness and practicality. I didn’t notice in all the hubbub that Praxis’ new PA is not anti-grav like mine. “Good point, Susan. Keep it to the ground unless we need some speed to get out of here in a hurry, Praxis.”

Amber smiles behind her helmet. "It's no problem, Susan. I plan on getting a gravpack too once we get back to civilization. I like this PA for the anti-grav system in particular, but the armour itself limits my natural abilities." I hope my new armour I commissioned in Manoa is ready soon!

She makes sure everyone is ready and says. “All set, GIRLS? Then let’s head out, Eight.” Amber takes her position with Susan as the others start out.

After the GIRLS forge their plan, the point to Eight to lead the way and the android nods. Eight leads them down the containers to the base of the Pylon and inside the access point relatively quickly. There is no bot in sight yet though the sounds of explosions still echo, at lessening frequencies. The android is able to open the access point and leads the group inside the pylon. The interior of the room is dark but identical to the one they exited when leaving the first pylon, which stands to reason they have near identical layouts. Eight moves to the interior doorframe console and starts working to unlock it while the GIRLS stack up to move inside.

Amber and Analoy are on point of the door when it opens and they both have but an instant to react to the Security Drone that is standing on the otherside of the doorway. The drone looks at both GIRLS as they each fire. Both GIRLS hits the drone and it stumbles backwards. Praxis and Phinnieas both follow with a pelt, Praxis also missing though Phinnieas's hits. Eight lurches from behind with a formed blade on its right arm and stabs it through the head, forcing it to the ground.

Eight turns to the GIRLS. "Be ready, we will have to fight our way out now but they won't follow if we make it to the outside. Move as swiftly as you can." Eight warns and then quickly moves down the pathway with the GIRLS close in tow. Eight leads the GIRLS to the first series of ladders that they have to climb (or otherwise jet up). Amber can see the drones moving like ants, she knows they can't be swarmed.

What are you doing?
GM Note: The drones don't have ranged weapons like the Repo-Bots do, they have melee weapons. You have 1 combat rounds before the closet group of drones are in melee range of you; each group has four drones and you can see two groups closing in on you within ranged weapons reach. The Security bots are more Repo-like and but are few and in between. If you fly up it'll cut down the pylon time, but attract the security bots.

Amber looks at the Drones approaching them two by two and then up at the long climb up the ladder, she thinks to herself. These Drones are going to be on top of us before we clear the pylon. We have to stop them, fast before we get overrun by all 3 groups of them. She speaks quickly but calmly to the GIRLS. “Listen GIRLS, we can’t outrun these Drones, or fly away from them since they can fly too. So, unless there is an option I am missing, we need to take them down. FAST.”

She looks around at the them. “Analoy and Praxis. Target the Drones on the right. Susan and I will target the ones on the left. Phinneas, protect Reka. Eight, intercept any Drones that get through. Spread out a bit and engage when they are in your weapons range. Clear?”

Analoy's nods to Amber. Running wouldn't have been a bad choice either. All we'd need to do is get out of the pylon before they caught us. She lines up with the closest drone on the right then shift her sights up to its head and says, "I don't think we should stop moving though. From what Eight says, we just need to get out the other side of the pylon."

Letting a slow breath out, Analoy squeezes the trigger and prays that the drone's head isn't that well armored.

If that bot goes down, Analoy will shift to the next closest on the right, if not, she tries again on the first drone. Another slow deep exhale as she lines up her rifle and lets the shot fly.

An idea passes though her mind about powering up her monster tattoos and letting those fight while the group makes a run for it.

The GIRLS heed Eight's warning and follow the android. Phinneas stays with Reka and draws his axe, ready to defend the unconscious alien even if he was only using one arm. Amber splits off with Praxis, Susan and Analoy to defend from the incoming attackers. Amber and Susan able to take down one of the two approaching groups and as Praxis and Analoy mow down the second group together, Praxis able to cut through three of them with Analoy capping off the fourth in a clean shot. Amber and Susan finish off their collection of drones without any getting within melee range. The last one falling within a dozen feet of the GIRLS. They each miss their share of shots but most of the GIRLS quickly recognize that with a bit of focused fire, the drones wouldn't be challenging at all unless they got swarmed.

Eight grips Reka and looks to the GIRLS. "Climb or Fly?" The Android asks and will then lead the GIRLS whichever direction is decided. Amber, Phinneas and Susan can count several more groups closing in that will be within melee range within seconds. If there is an organized fashion to their attacks, Amber can't infer what it may be and right now it seems like nothing more than swarm.

What are you doing?

Amber smiles inwardly as the last of the first wave of drones goes down quickly. “Nicely done, GIRLS!” As she spots the next waves approaching, she thinks. The longer we stay here, the more of these Drones we are going to have to destroy and the more likely it is that the Security Drones are called in. We have to fly, NOW.

As she watches Praxis jet off, she says. "Don't go off too far, Praxis." As long as he doesn't get too far away he should be able to catch up okay. His PA is faster than mine.

As she readies herself for the next wave incoming. “We need some kind of distraction to draw these things away. Anybody got anything up their sleeve that can possibly draw them away? Either way, we are going to fly and try to get out of the pylon as soon as possible. We fight and fly at the same time.” She quickly stows her rifle and draws her Vibro-sword. She collects Susan and leaps into the air, following Eight into the chute.

She will target any drones that fire with the NEL-11 "Lightning" Electrical Arc Discharger. Let's see if this thing can fry their electronics and maybe knock them out. The team circles up at the base of the chute and readies for the next wave, preparing to leap into the air. Amber lobs an electrical arc towards one of the drones that prompts it to stumble and fall behind it's pack, though doesn't drop it. Susan fires a pot shot and blasts one of the head's clean off, a bot falling to the floor as Susan notices a second bot was also partially damaged. Unfortunately, her second shot misses as Amber takes her in the air, firing another arc blast and missing as well.

Praxis leaps up immediately and fires a spray at one of the drones, his burst cutting through the stripped exoskeletal armor. As Praxis sways in the air, he catches a bot in the corner of his eye diving from above towards him and is able to strafe to the side as the bot crashes down on the ground below. Eight leaps up with Praxis, holding Reka. Praxis can see that Reka actually seems to be regaining consciousness as they begin to fly up.

Phinneas covers Analoy with a near perfect shot to another drone's head, though it missed enough to only stumble to drone and not kill it. Suddenly everyone in the group hears a loud shriek as Analoy unleashes a winged monster from her shoulder. Amber and Praxis both see the tattoo itself literally leap to life through her cloths and take shape before screeching. This harpie doesn't even look around and barrels straight towards the incoming wave of drones. Analoy doesn't wait to see what happens as she grabs Phinneas and darts up, joining the others as the remaining drones converge on their former location. The harpie now circling them and dive bombing varies drones, robotic scraps flying.

The GIRLS are able to fly about halfway up together before Amber, Analoy and Praxis hear the familiar ring of Naruni Particle Beams being fired and the harpie screeching down below them. If Analoy can sense her monster magic, she feels the harpie's magic crushed after a couple shots. Looking behind them, Amber, Analoy and Praxis see two Security Drones below that currently don't see the group, floating near where the harpie was; also none of the work drones seem to be pursuing the group in-flight.

What are you doing?

The group tries to take advantage of being currently unseen after Analoy's harpie was intercepted by the Security Drones. Amber checking her own stealth and her contra-grav system while getting situated with Susan who is clinging onto her like a backpack. Praxis is able to see a familiar causeway that is nearly identical to the one they used to descend down the first pylon; they were almost there, though he could also see some normal drones on the walkway. Eight continues to lead the group up and out of sight from the Security Bots at first, unfortunately Praxis swerves a little too freely while gleefully reciting his time as a Guardsman. Phinneas is the first to hear as a single impact hits Praxis's lower back [-15 MDC] and when he looks, Phinneas sees one of the Security Drones lining up another shot at Praxis, the second drone no where to be seen.

Amber listens to the reports coming in over the radio from Praxis and Phinneas. Damn! We are so close to getting out of here and hopefully to safety. “Roger that. Keep moving towards the exit. If Eight’s assessment is correct, they will not pursue us outside, so the sooner we get there, the better.”

Amber clicks off her mic and says loud enough that only Susan can hear. "Hang on Susan. We are going to punch through to the exit. Keep an eye out for that other Security Drone and call out if you spot it. Okay?"

Amber continues to fly in the direction Eight is heading, all the while she keeps searching for the other Security Drone that seems to have gone missing. [Dice'n'Fly]

Amber continues her vertical ascent with Susan, staying close to Eight's heels with Analoy holding Phinneas next to them. Praxis reels around and drops mid-flight to distract the bot that shot him and his distraction works. The drone fires another shot that misses as Praxis falls in front of the drone as it is climbing and uses the momentum of his fall in his slash, the energy blade completely removing the drone's right arm. Susan and Phinneas both take pop shots at the drone as Praxis reinitiates his flight and comes up from behind. The following slash removing the drone's head and part of its larger weapon system as its momentum ceases and it starts falling back. Praxis can barely see the rest of the team, now a couple hundred feet above him.

Eight levels the group off at a identical concourse to the first pylon, with a large platform, catwalks and access points available at this mid-section of the pylon. The drones look like ants that are scattering on the catwalks, trying to find the best way to reach the team when all evidence says only the Security Drones fly. Eight points across the concourse some five hundred feet is the access point they need to exit through and starts leading them to it. Susan notices a brief flash of movement in her eye sight as she and Amber both suddenly feel a sharp pain on your right side. Everyone can see the second security drone has intentionally crashed into Susan and Amber, knocking all three of them onto the concourse below. [-10 MDC]

"Get back in the air; they are trying to swarm you." Eight calls out to Susan and Amber while holding a now visibly struggling Reka Ola.

The Security Bot towers over both GIRLS on the concourse with it as it charges them both, with countless drones swarming from multiple sides.

What are you doing?

Amber quickly tries to get her bearings after being slammed into by the Security Drone. What the frack was that! That thought quickly gives way to a slight feeling of panic. Skatá!!! Where is Susan!? She scampers back onto her feet and leaps back into the air and hovers as she looks around and tries to locate Susan. Skatá! This really looks like that scene from my vision. So, when is Eight to swoop in and save Susan? Ah remember, those are only possible outcomes of the future. Guess his hands are full and it's up to us.

As she spies Susan on the ground, she will start on an intercept course towards her, but will move off as she sees Praxis swooping into grab Susan. “Everyone, keep heading towards the exit! Defend yourselves, but keep moving. Eight, how long will it take to get us outside once we get to the exit?” She will rendezvous with Praxis if she able to, and reacquires Susan. “Hang on, Doc! This ride is going to be bumpy!”

If I survive, I will make my way back. I did it once I will do it again. If I don't make it, give a fifth of my cut to the kid and the rest is yours. Phinneas and Analoy you are both batshit crazy. If anyone can get the info out of him you can. Just follow you insanely nutso hearts and break something for me." Once Amber is following Eight again, he removes two HE Grenades and waits. These people are good folks...except maybe Susan, she is a bit sketch. This is way better than dying for some stupid Kreeghor Sociopaths.
Amber has a perplexed look on her face inside her helmet. A thousand thoughts run through her mind. What the frack is he doing? It's noble in a way and I can appreciate that, but we don’t even have an extraction point until we find the device! The device is our only way home and until we get out of here we can't find it. She shakes of the thoughts as she fights her way towards the exit with, hopefully, Susan in tow. “Keep heading towards the exit, Praxis. Cover our withdrawal if you like, but be right behind us. Eight says that they won’t pursue if we can make it outside." Hopefully he is right! "Plus, our only way to get off this rock is the device. If you don't come with us now, the odds of you being able to find us again are slim to none."

Amber barely has time to attempt to parry a strike from the Security Drone. She feels the weight behind the drone's strike as Susan fires a well placed shot at its head before Praxis appears and swoops down, lifting Susan up into the air. Amber more deftly parries another strike before darting upwards. Praxis readies his grenades but Susan and Amber both convince the Guardsman to just evacuate. Amber is the only one who sees the exit ahead of them and it's currently clear, though not for much longer. The drones are swarming towards its location, though everyone sees Eight burst ahead of them with incredible speed; a doorway to the otherside opening.
